Dear Readers, Greetings and good wishes! Incredible ISAM! It inspires all of us. Being the Principal of this Prestigious Institution, I indeed feel privileged to reflect my musings on its credentials and prowess. The E-magazine “MAGDROID’ is yet another significant move wherein the students have been extended an opportunity to empower and get empowered with their expertise in writing. In their pursuit of excellence, the students have delved deep to portray their flair for writing in creating thought- provoking articles, crafty crafts, heart-warming poems, titbits, funny riddles and whatnot. I’m wonderstruck at the amazing creative skills of our students. I do hope that this step that’s kept ahead to sparkle the young mind could be a giant stride in days to come. Let this journey of exploration soar high above and touch the sky. All the best and God bless your future endeavours. Regards, P. Prabakaran, Principal, ISAM.

FRIENDS TURNING FOES Characters: Joe, Samonara, Simonara It was a sublime morning in Turin. Three friends decided to go to a shop to buy some food. They started walking to a nearby pizza shop and asked the shopkeeper, how much was for a pizza. They were told, the pizzas were selling for € 20. The three friends were keen on knowing the different flavours available at the store. To this the shopkeeper retorted; Margherita, Carbonara and Statro quartironni. ENGLISH E MAGAZINE-2020-ISAM 7

Joe wanted Margherita, Samonara wanted Carbonara and Simonara wanted Statro quartironnni. All wanted different pizzas. There started a brawl, the brawl grew huge, the shopkeeper threw them out of his shop and not even a Euro was spent. They were very angry and vexed when the shopkeeper threw them out of his store. It dawned on them, had they been well behaved, they could all have got their pizzas and would not have gone ravenous. The fight taught them a lesson not to brawl in future. ENGLISH E MAGAZINE-2020-ISAM 8

As the friends were very hungry, they prepared some food by themselves and said sorry to each other for the incident that happened. All of the friends reunited and lived happily ever after. Moral of the story: - Fighting cannot buy you anything, rather it will make you disappointed. By -Abdul Hadi -X D ENGLISH E MAGAZINE-2020-ISAM 9

FORGIVENESS – THE INGREDIENT THAT ANYONE CAN LACK I can forgive, we can forgive then why not you? Before I end my article I would, I will create a spark within you which will make you think that, I will try to forgive. Yes, We all know that forgive is a seven letter word, but Elizabeth Marx said that it is a 4 letter word “love” The very nature of us our human is to feel angry and resentful when someone harms us well I would say that Forgetting the past and starting on with a clean state. Forgiveness is taking out the knife from your back which someone has stabbed at your back, deceived you, and betrayed you and you taking in knife but not to harm anyone around you. No matter how terribly they have hurt you. Two aspects of forgiveness 1. Why can’t people forgive? 2. Power of forgiveness

So moving to first aspect I feel there are mainly three reasons 1. We think that we do not get apology right. We say he didn’t say sorry or he didn’t apologize. 2. We expect others to come and then ask sorry. Dear friends it is our memory not theirs People have different versions forgiveness. You know what if it depended on the apology of a particular person then believe me by now the world would be affected, 3. Reason is that I believe that people lack the ingredient of forgiveness within them Lastly we people don’t understand the meaning of weakness and wickedness he or she is not wicked. We are eagerly happy to receive forgiveness why can’t we forgive think an answer to it. “To make a mistake is human to forgive is divine.” Veda Prasanth VIII-F

Some people voice was not heard before are able to voice their opinions through social media. We are able to build relationship with our friends .Thus, we can say that social media is useful to us in many ways. Social media also have some harmful effects .Overusing social media leads to many eyes problems. Thus, we can say that social media has many harmful effects too. Teena Bhowmick VII-A

HOW I OVERCOME CHALLENGES “Smooth seas do not make skillful sailors” “Challenges are what make life interesting and overcoming them is what makes life meaningful” In order to be successful, you have to overcome a great many things with determination and hard work. I myself overcome Obstacles in life by taking it as a challenge by itself and that this is what will make me stronger than who I am. All of us from time to time are faced with difficult situations. Sometimes these problems may seem insurmountable. However, there’s almost always a solution. When I see some problems insurmountable, I try to take a different approach to the situation to see my problem in an entirely different light. Looking at the problem from a different perspective can often make the solution obvious instead of impossible. Foremost I will analyze the transparency of problems, organize, and implement to get a good outcome that is the meaning of overcoming challenges.

One of the best things I do is to get it on paper. Write everything down about the situation or Brainstorm together and have everyone share their different solutions. Two heads are often better than one. While this method can be helpful, don’t rely on other people to always solve your problems. There's more than one solution to every problem. Don’t limit yourself to just thinking of one solution. I try to Brainstorm as many solutions as possible, even if they sound crazy or outlandish, and then go back to evaluate which solutions might work. Life is filled with unexpected adventures and challenges. As you move on, face new events with self-confidence, be positive, Optimistic, believe in yourself and don’t give up! Krithy Jayaram VI-B

THE FOUR DIM-WITTED ALIENS Once upon a time, there lived four aliens in space. They did not know anything, but by heart everything they heard. If they heard meteors crashing against each other, they would by heart that sound. On a time to time basis, they would visit various planets. So the day came, when they decided to visit the Earth. The four aliens descended upon the Earth. However, they fell at different places. The first alien fell in the crowd present at a drama show. There, an old man was shouting, “I killed! I killed!” So, the first alien by hearted, “I killed! I killed!” The second alien fell on a table in a restaurant. A little boy present there was enthusiastically saying, “With forks and knives!” So the second alien by hearted, “With forks and knives!” The third alien descended on a bench in a park. Nearby, a small girl was crying, “Because he took my lollipop!” So the third alien by hearted, “Because he took my lollipop!” The fourth alien landed in a cricket stadium. There, the winning team was screaming, “HOORAY!” So the fourth alien by hearted “HOORAY!” The very next day, a boy named Jack was killed. The police of the community felt the aliens were unfamiliar and decided to

question them. After summoning them to the station, the officer in charge asked, “Who killed Jack?” The first alien replied, “I question them. THE FIRST DAY DURING THE LOCKDOWN Time: 6:00 pm Day: 15th March It was the illuminating daylight which awoke me from my bed and tempted me to look out through the window sill. I could see the bright shining sun illuminating each and every condominium and its nook and corners. But the main function that stuck through my eyes were the messengers of happiness, calm and peace. The pigeons, who were busy collecting wooden sticks and straws for their nests. I had a cup of a tea and never took my eyes of the window unless and until I saw a man or a women. After all this it was 11.am. I waited for half an hour I saw a man going to a small shop. I observed and then I went and had breakfast and got freshened and watched television and again went near the window sill, and fed the pigeons. At 2:05 pm, I saw the police coming and I thought may be for checking. I had lunch with my family and then thought to write down about my day and how it was. And this is the article I wrote but there are some more as well. It got darker and the night fell. The moon and the stars made the sky so prepossessing and ingenious. It was turning midnight and turning more and more darker. Then I with a clink turned my room light off and lit the small lamp and I entered to my comfortable bed and fell asleep. “Let’s together overcome this adversity, sit together, be interconnected and stay at home for the betterment of the world.” Veda Prasanth VIII F

We have heard about epidemic, But this brings a new word to our vocabulary ‘’pandemic’’. Everyone is scared of it, But I am not scared a bit. It is not that frightening , As we practise social distancing. Let’s take a sanitizer, And scare away the killer. Thanks to our doctors, They are our life savers. ENGLISH, THE ULTIMATE SOURCE OF SURVIVAL Language is a vital tool for communication. The primary function of a language is to communicate any information. This function accepts or denies assumptions such as the scientific fact or the factual statements. This function helps us to state the logical facts clearly. It is not only a means of communicating thoughts and ideas, but it builds friendships, economic relationships and cultural ties. We can communicate only with signs without language. More over a language distinguishes the differences and also celebrates the frgfttrgbbbhfdbbbtbtbtbbfuniqueness of cultures in a country or in a region or in a community. A language shapes the way people perceive the world and it also helps to define culture of any society. Any language is a gift the knowledge of more than one language makes a man more efficient and skillful in many ways. It opens our minds and guides us into a magical world of fancies and dreams.

To certain the proper learning of language helps us to develop ourselves, our minds, and also our personality. Human language is unique because it is a symbolic communication system that is learned instead of biologically inherited for some people. A language is to convey the feelings or emotions or attitudes of somebody. We have poetry and other forms of literature in order to express our inner feelings in a better way. They evoke our feelings and also express our feelings. In today’s modern world the English language has become part and parcel of every existing field. It has been an international language of or emotions or attitudes of somebody. We have poetry and other forms of literature in order to express our inner feelings in a better way. They evoke our feelings and also express our feelings. In today’s modern world the English language has become part and parcel of every existing field. It has been an international language of communication, business, science, information technology, entertainment and so on. Earlier everyone is considered to be literate by their degrees and diplomas, but the knowledge of English language makes an individual literate in today’s world. As it is rightly said by Oliver Wendell Holmes, “Language is the blood of the soul into which thoughts run and out of which they grow.” Maryam Fathima VIII-C

SERVICE TO MAN IS SERVICE TO GOD The purpose of “God” is to create and sustain. Thus those who sustain human beings, those who are in the service of man are in the service of God. Worship of God can be done through service of mankind. Many great men laid their lives to serve man. They actually served god. Abraham Lincoln served the cause of Negroes. He abolished slavery. It was a divine task. Jesus laid in the service of man, so did Buddha. St Joan of Arc served the people of her nation and was burnt at the stake. A general man is social being. He has some duties to society; a social worker is selfless... He does not need any reward for his service. He never likes to take advantage of it. We can serve our society in various ways. Our society faces a number of problems. We must try to solve it. To educate the villagers is to educate India. To make the villagers literate and educated is a great social service. Our villagers do not know even the simple rules of hygiene, However it is our duty to make them aware about these. They also suffer from diseases.

Sometimes our country men suffer at the time of famine, floods and fire. These things make their life miserable. Any help to those suffering people will be a valuable social service. A social worker tries to bring peace to society. God actually loves those who love his creation and serve society. Abu Ben Adam did not list his name in the list of those who love God because he had no time to worship. The next night he was told by the Angel that God loved him the most as he loved and served his creation. Veda Prasanth VIII-F Perks of reading a book There are so many things to unfold, Before all the secrets are told, Your day starts with a cup of coffee, When your hobby is to read about a lobby, The doors of library are always open for you, Just because I can read you through, This is a perk of reading a book, I would rather read than clean a crock! MY SOLITUDE Synopsis: This poem is about the teenagers’ emotions and feelings when they pass through a transition of life, when they have to decide for their future and make choices on their own, leaving their friends and family’s influence. A quest to find out what they really want in life. I may appear to be cheerful and always smiling, But there is sorrow behind these smiles, at times. I may be surrounded by friends but, Inside I am all lonely. My happiness lasts only for minutes, Minutes to seconds and, Then that happiness just become memories of my teenage days, passing by quickly. It leaves an ache in my chest, To know that my teenage is just passing within the blink of an eye.

I am still trying to fill all my empty spaces, with useless thoughts Those empty spaces which was made By my lovely and dearly ones. I will still continue to live my days like this And endure through the days of my difficult times. I will also enjoy each moment of my school life, Like always, despite my small sorrows. By Agnel Maria, 12 B

If I were the fastest man alive. If I were the fastest man alive, I could run a mile at a fraction of a second. I could feel the wind caressing me. I could run faster than time. When I run, no one shall see me. If I were the fastest man alive, I could save people’s lives like a hero . I could run on water and up walls that are narrow, I could read, write and think faster than an arrow. If I were the fastest man alive, I could jump down buildings and feel no pain. I would do all of these the very first day, And to all problems, I shall find a way . Muhammad Ali- X B 31

A FLOWER Morning breeze kissed my face, To wake me up The dazzling shiny rays, Brightened, my faded face The twinkling dancing butterflies, Club me together The slow wind, Hold my hands, to dance Wandering slow, cool breeze, Hugged me to feel his presence What a lovely world, My mind whispered. FLOATING IN THE WINDS OF TIME Those bright orange lamps That light up the night sky Floating in the wind But slowly their lights die That warm soothing glow But new ones will come That sets your heart on fire That light up your world again That makes you feel free And when they light it up Soar, than the clouds, higher You will forget the pain But through time eventually These are nothing but friends Those lights will burn out Who with you will live and grow Nothing can save them And no matter for how long Not a scream or a shout They will always come and go The world around us Is meant to be explored And something we will find of that I am sure Maybe not treasures Maybe not jewels Maybe not the power To suppress all cruel Maryam Fathima But there is one thing VIII-C I am sure we will find And those are the lessons of life And friends we will leave behind.

SOMEWHERE OUT THERE… Somewhere, somewhere out there There was a world as prosaic as any other And in that world, there was a place like any other But one day everything changed ! The world was in panic Everyone hurried around They started stocking up And the whole world turned around School has been cancelled, our lessons online It was exciting at first, but now has lost its shine We miss our friends and the daily routines.

But we will do it forever, if that’s what it takes As corona has threatened the highest of stakes We will stay inside and follow the rules We will draw, paint, bake cakes and lend a hand in household chores. We really don’t care that life is on hold As when all this gets over, our family we will hold When lockdown is lifted and we are allowed out We will appreciate our freedom, no doubt While we fight the virus, always remember Nothing is permanent We will get through it and The dawn will come for all of us. SUNLIGHT Every morning I see him through my window, Peeping into the room with his golden hands. He makes everything in the world wake up, With his bright shining light. Nothing can stop his golden hands, From touching the mother earth. Without him the world is dark and drowsy, And with him the world is lively. He makes everything in the world happy, With his bright light. Aatmaja Arun 7F

THE EARTH AND THE VIRUS Our beautiful Earth was perishing As our desires go on cherishing…. We were killing the Earth knowingly We were killing ourselves unknowingly….. But now the things have changed The plague which was yet to come, came …. It came not only to destroy but also to protect To protect the Earth from the human pest… As the situation goes by, humans go on perishing As the nature goes on cherishing …. We need to learn a lesson from all this That the nature should be cared as it should Not to be abused as we did…. JOHAN REJI XI A

SOCIAL DISTANCE As a bang it came, Holding the hands of corona Took away all my gatherings, Everywhere, everywhere I saw Social distance, Loneliness came as a friend My hands hold, The same laptop, same curtain, The same blue sky, and still we keep the same social distance SHEEZA RIYAS 6C

A long time ago… We used to be sweet.. Keeping the earth strong and healthy… And the earth was happy… with all its glory… It shone like the sun in a spring morning… Until one day… We found engines and trucks…all luxury transport Started to warm up this beautiful Earth… Global warming took its place… But we didn’t care because we were selfish… Now we all regret for being so because… The earth has made a plan to destroy us all… And that's how the coronavirus was formed… And it is as scary as a lightning crashing during a storm… Yes it is clear that the earth takes its revenge, Its sweet sweet revenge… On us for what we did to it sometime back … Now we don’t dare to go outside… The earth is slowly healing again… While we are in all this pain… Regret our actions of defiling the Earth! Now..we are pleading with the earth to forgive us… Still don’t know what will happen next… But we do know that this is the revenge… The earth’s sweet sweet revenge.....on us! Tanishqa – 6 D

Sunrise It’s so nice to wake up early in the morning, to see the sun just rising. There are many shades of colours: and they look like the sky a canvas of hues. There are shades of red, yellow and orange, it’s magical sight a multicoloured range. I wish I would be the sun at rise: to illumine the world and to make people rise He smiles at me and I smile back, and I look into his magnificent eyes. He blinks his eyes which sparkles a diamond, all crystal like and wonderful. When he sets in the evening I wave my hands it’s as if he says good bye. We both will see each other the next day, I wish this meet to happen ever and ever!. By Merlin Maria Pradeep VII G

THE NIGHT SKY I looked at the night sky, with all the twinkling stars, along with the moon where all seemed bright. I looked out of my window, beforTHeE bed,NIGHT SKY saw a shooting star and whispered my wish to the night. The light from the night sky touched the walls of the garden to catch the thieves who roamed around my garden. When I woke up, the next day, the night sky disappeared. SUNRISE It is the beautiful morning, when all the animals tweet and sing, It is the colour of sky, the wonderful hue which brings us the hope. The Sunrise gives the rise of the day. It is the time when all living beings rise . It brings forth warmth from the cold nights of the Moon, wakes up all plants and beings, and brings them to life so new and fresh. It only comes once a day the only phenomenon to colour the sky. All the plants start to breathe by the gentle touch of the sunrise. And experience the wonderful sensation! Aaryan Abhilash 7D

Moon The Moon’s so pretty, With her white and brownish hue. She smiles at night and goes at day, But eventually returns when the night comes newly She enjoys playing with me, That’s why I consider her as my best teammate. She prefers hide and seek the best, But I tell you she hides in the mists. I have never seen her family, But she’s been my colleague since my birth. We eat, play and sleep together, Looking and wishing each other a pleasant night. “Who’s your best friend?” asked my teacher to me, I said, “Moon!” without any query. Abhinand– 7E

Nature - I miss the nature I relished before, Standing in the midst of the fine green grass, Under the bright sun, wearing my favorite sunglass, Listening to the birds’ songs, I Wish that same way I could sing along, Sitting under the shady big tree, Feel like from a cage I was set free, Not a single frowning face I could see, To see that scenery to god every day I make a plea, Now that I can’t go outside, I sit at home imagining about it sipping my refreshing coffee.
