Spec Script Spec scripts are scripts written by writers who may or may not have a contract with a production company. Pitch Script A pitch script is a short version of the full script that writers use to convince producers, directors and other industry professionals to produce their work. Video Game Script Scripts specifically designed for video games are usually written much differently than television or film scripts. Feature Film Script Feature film scripts are typically the longest and most complicated type of broadcast script. Short Film Scripts A short script is shorter than feature length films and focus on one particular story or idea. Documentary Script Documentary scripts allow writers to tell a story by combining interviews, archival footage and narration. Adapted Script The scripts based on existing works such as books, plays or short stories and tell a similar story but with different characters or elements are adapted scripts. Shooting Script/ Play Script A shooting script or play script is the finalized version of a script ready for production. Speculative script A speculative script is a script written in the hopes of being turned into a television show or movie.
