THE REWARD Narrated Abu Hurairah (RA): The Messenger of Allah ( )صلى الله عليه وسلمsaid, \"He who recites after every prayer: Subhan-Allah thirty-three times; Al-hamdu lillah thirty- three times; Allahu Akbar thirty-three times; and completes the hundred with: La ilaha illallahu, wahdahu la sharika lahu, lahul-mulku wa lahul-hamdu, wa Huwa 'ala kulli shai'in Qadir will have all his sins pardoned even if they may be as large as the foam on the surface of the sea.\" [Muslim] 49
SHORTEST BUT POWERFUL DUA SAY لَّلُه َّم ِإِّني َأْس َأُلَك اْلَع اِفَيَة TRANSLITERATION Allahumma inni as’aluka al-‘afiyah WHAT IT MEANS O Allah, I ask you for Afiyah. FURTHER MEANING Afiyah means: To be saved from any afflictions, you are in Afiyah. To be healthy, you are in Afiyah. To have enough money, you are in Afiyah. To live, you are in Afiyah. To have your children protected, you are in Afiyah. And if you are forgiven and not punished, you are in Afiyah. 50
HADITH Al-Abbas (R.A.), the Uncle of The Prophet Muhammed ﷺ, came to the Prophet Muhammed ﷺand said: “Ya Rasulullah, teach me a Dua.” The Prophet Muhammed ﷺsaid: “O my Uncle, say الَّلُه َّم ِإِّني َأْس َأُلَك اْلَع اِفَيَة Al-Abbas (R.A.) thought about this for a while, and then he came back after a few days and said (paraphrased): “Ya Rasulullah, this du’a seems a little short. I want something big.” The Prophet ( )ﷺsaid: “My dear uncle, ask Allah for Afiyah for Wallahi, you cannot be given anything better than afiyah.” 51
SAY الَّلُه َّم ِإِّني َأْس َأُلَك ِع ْلًم ا َناِفًع ا َوِرْزًقا َط ِّيًبا َوَع َم ًال ُم َتَقَّبًال TRANSLITERATION Allahumma inni as’aluka ‘ilman naafi’an, wa rizqan tayyiban, wa ‘amalan mutaqabbalan WHAT IT MEANS O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, goodly provision, and acceptable deeds HADITH It was narrated from Umm Salamah that when the Prophet ( )ﷺperformed the Subh (morning prayer), while he said the Salam, he would say: ‘Allahumma inni as’aluka ‘ilman nafi’an, wa rizqan tayyiban, wa ‘amalan mutaqabbalan (O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, goodly provision, and acceptable deeds).’ SAY اللُه َّم لا َس ْه َل إلا َم ا َجَع لَتُه َس ْه لا َو أنَت َتْجَع ُل الحْزَن إذا ِش ْئَت َس ْه ل TRANSLITERATION Allahumma la sahla illa ma ja`altahu sahla wa anta taj`al ul- hazna idha shi’ta sahla WHAT IT MEANS O Allah! There is nothing easy except that which You make easy; and You make the difficult, if You wish, easy BENEFIT Make this dua for any difficulty you are facing no matter how big or small. May Allah make the difficult situation easy for you. 52
اْلَقْو ِم اْلَكاِفِريَِن SAY رَّبَنا اْغ ِف ْر َلَنا ُذُنوَبَنا َوِإْس َراَفَنا ِفي َأْم ِرَنا َوَثِّبْت َأْقَداَم َنا وانُص ْرَنا َع ىَل TRANSLITERATION Rabbana faghfirlana zunubana wa israfana fi amrina wa thabbit aqdamana wansurna alal qawmil kafireen WHAT IT MEANS Our Lord! Forgive us our sins and our transgressions [in keeping our duties to You], establish our feet firmly, and give us victory over the disbelieving folk. IMPORTANCE This dua helps us in seeking forgiveness from Allah as it starts by asking Allah to forgive us of our excessive sins and transgressions. Furthermore, it asks Allah to establish our feet firmly simply requesting to be given a good foundation throughout one's life. 53
Reciting the Qur'an صلى الله عليه وسلم In Surat Al-Baqara, verse 185 it says “(It is) the month of Ramadan in which the Qur’an was revealed as a guidance for mankind, clear proofs giving guidance, and the Criterion (for distinguishing right and wrong). So whoever of you witnesses this month, let him fast.” [2:185] The Holy Quran was revealed in the month of Ramadan therefore it is crucial that we dedicate our time to reciting it as much as we can. You can give yourself a target or set up a plan in such a way that you aim to finish the entire Quran by the end of this holy month to gain the pleasure of Allah SWT. RECITE Absolutely any part of the Qur'an THE REWARD Ibn Mas'ud (RA): The Messenger of Allah ( )صلى الله عليه وسلمsaid, \"Whoever recites a letter from the Book of Allah, he will be credited with a good deed, and a good deed gets a ten-fold reward. I do not say that Alif-Lam-Mim is one letter, but Alif is a letter, Lam is a letter and Mim is a letter.\" [Tirmidhi] 54
RECITE Surah Ikhlas (Chapter 112 of the Qur'an) THE REWARD Abu Sa’id Al-Khudri (RA): reported about Surat Al-Ikhlas \"The Messenger of Allah ( )صلى الله عليه وسلمsaid, “By Him in Whose Hand my soul is, it is equivalent to one-third of the Qur’an.” According to another version, he ( )صلى الله عليه وسلمsaid to his Companions, “Is anyone of you incapable of reciting one-third of the Qur’an in one night?” They considered it burdensome and said: “O Messenger of Allah, which of us can afford to do that?” He ( )صلى الله عليه وسلمsaid, “Surat Al-Ikhlas is equivalent to one-third of the Qur’an.” 55
Remember that Positivity is Key, Humility is a Virtue Alhamdullillah jannah likewise Jahannam is not in anyone’s hands but Allah. We as a people are firmly progressing into an Era that views people from an angle of their faults and weaknesses. Hence why I find this dua extremely useful and hold on to it tight. My Dear Sisters and Brothers Do not shame the people of sins or look down upon them, each and everyone of us lives under the ultimate cover of Allah! And if Allah was to remove the cover we will all be exposed. Ibn Qayyim said: “Whoever shames his brother for a sin, he will be tested with the same sin”. Therefore, if you hear or see a sin from another person, say “may Allah forgive us and them”. Be humble about your acts Ibadaah as you don’t know who is closer to Allah. Advise Others and don’t expose them, confront and don’t hurt them. Don’t be arrogant and don’t mock them. Every act of kindness towards reforming others comes with a lot of reward. REMEMBER! The hearts turn as the days turn. Nobody is guaranteed tomorrow. Prophet (pbuh) said: \"Whoever sees a person afflicted, and then says this dua, then he or she shall be saved from that affliction for as long as he or she lives.\"Try to memorize and recite the following Dua’s. May Allah continue to guide us on the right path and keep us steadfast 56
SAY اْلَحْم ُد ِلَّلِه اَّلِذي َع اَفاِني ِم َّم ا اْبَتاَل َك ِبِه َوَفَّض َلِني َع ىَل َكِثيٍر ِم َّم ْن َخَلَق َتْف ِض ياًل TRANSILITERATION “Alhamdu Lillahi-Ladhi aafanee mimmab-talaaka bihi wa fadhdhalanee alaa khatheerinMimman khalaqa tafdila” TRANSLATION “Praise be Allah who have saved me from what he afflicted them with and for honouring me over many of his creations, O Allah guide them and keep us Steadfast” Or ِد يِنَك SAY َيا ُم َقِّلَب اْلُقُلوِب َثِّبْت َقْلِبى َع ىَل TRANSILITERATION “Ya Muqallibal-quilt thab-bit qalbialaa deenik” TRANSLATION “O turner of the hearts affirm my heart upon your religion” 57

The 99 names of Allah and their meanings One of the keys to paradise is learning Allah SWT's 99 beautiful and meaningful names; if we learn Allah's names and try to conduct our life by them, Allah SWT will grant us Paradise by His Mercy. Learning these names also helps us get closer to Him because we can only really adore Him if we know who He is. Each of these names holds a specific attribute of Allah. Therefore it is important that we pick a few and memorise their meanings as well as act upon them. To name a few of my favorite; the Provider (Ya Razzaq), the Expander (Ya Baasit), The Giver of Life (Ya Muhyee), The Giver of death (Ya Mumeet), The Forgiving (Ya Ghafoor),The Generous (Ya Kareem),The Loving One (Ya Wudood). I try my best to call upon Allah with these powerful names whilst praising and worshiping him as it says in Surat Al- A`rāf , Verse 180 “And to Allah belong the best names, so invoke Him by them…” (Qur’an, 7:180). 71
1 ٱْلَّرْحَم ـاُن AR-RAHMAAN The Beneficent; He who wills goodness and mercy for all His creatures. He who repeats this Name will not be compelled to do anything against his wishes, and will not be exposed to violence, severity or hardship. 10 ٱْلُم َتَكِّبُر AL-MUTAKABBIR The Supreme, The Majestic; The One who is clear from the attributes of the creatures and from resembling them. He who repeats this Name frequently will be granted status and respect. If He repeats this Name frequently at the commencement of every act, He will achieve success by the grace of Allah. 11 ٱْلَخاِلُق AL-KHAALIQ The Creator, The Maker; The One who brings everything from non-existence to existence He who repeats this Name 100 times for seven days without break, Allah will create an angel whose duty will be to act righteously for this person until the Day of Judgement. He who repeats this Name will be forgiven his sins. 15 ٱْلَقَّه اُر AL-QAHHAR The Subduer, The Ever-Dominatin; The One who has the perfect Power and is not unable over anything. The soul of him who repeats this Name Will conquer the desires of the flesh, and his heart will be made free from the attractions of the world and gain inner peace. this Name also frees one from being wronged. 16 ٱْلَو َّه اُب AL-WAHHAAB The Giver of Gifts; The One who is Generous in giving plenty without any return. 75

He who repeats this Name will be provided with sustenance by Allah. 18 ٱْلَف َّتاُح AL-FATTAAH The Supreme Solver; The Judge, The One who opens for His slaves the closed worldly and religious matters. The heart of him who repeats this Name will be open, and he will be given victory. 19 ٱْلَع ِليُم AL-‘ALEEM The All-Knowing, The Omniscient; The Knowledgeable; The One nothing is absent from His knowledge He who repeats this Name, his heart will become luminous, revealing divine light(Nur). 20 ٱْلَق اِبُض AL-QAABID The Withholder; The One who constricts the sustenance by His wisdom and expands and widens it with His Generosity and Mercy. Allah shall fulfill the needs of the person who recites it 500, 100, or 50 times every Thursday after Zuhr prayer. Allah will bestow on him any desire 76
21 ٱْلَباِس ُط AL-BAASIT The Extender; The One who amplifies all abundance. He gives plentiful to whoever he wills and reaches out a helping hand to all mankind . He who repeats this Name 10 times after Chasht prayer with open hands (palms up), then rubs his face with his hands, will be free of need from others. 22 ٱْلَخاِفُض AL-KHAAFIDH The Reducer; The Abaser, The One who lowers whoever He willed by His Destruction and raises whoever He willed by His Endowment. Those who fast three days, and on the fourth day repeat this Name 70 times in a gathering, Allah will free them from harm by their enemy. Allah will fulfill the need of one who repeats this Name 500 times daily. 23 ٱْلَّراِفُع AR-RAAFI’ The Elevating one; The One who lowers whoever He willed by His Destruction and raises whoever He willed by His Endowment. He who repeats this Name 101 times day and night, Allah will make him higher, as far as honour, richness and merit are concerned. 77
24 ٱْلُم ِع ُّز AL-MU’IZZ The Honourer, The Bestower; He gives esteem to whoever He willed, hence there is no one to degrade Him He who repeats this name 140 times after Maghrib prayer on Monday or Friday nights, Allah will make him dignified in the eyes of others. That person will fear no one but Allah. 25 ٱْلُم ِذُّل AL-MUZIL The Dishonourer, The Humiliator; Allah humiliates those who disbelieve or disobey him. Once a man is digraced by Allah, he will never be honoured. He who repeats this Name 75 times will be free from harm by those who are jealous of him and wish to harm him. Allah will protect him. 26 ٱْلَّس ِم يُع AS-SAMEE’ The All-Hearing; The One who Hears all things that are heard by His Eternal Hearing without an ear, instrument or organ. He who repeats this Name 500, 100 or 50 times without speaking to anyone on Thursday after the chasht prayer, Allah will bestow on him anything he desires. 78
27 ٱْلَبِص يُر AL-BASEER The All-Seeing; The One who Sees all things that are seen by His Eternal Seeing. He who repeats this Names 100 times after Friday afternoon prayer, Allah will give this person light in his sight and enlighten his heart. 28 ٱْلَحَكُم AL-HAKAM The Judge, The Giver of Justice; He is the Ruler and His judgment is His Word. He who repeats this Name many times at night, many secrets (sirr) will be revealed to him. 29 ٱْلَع ْدُل AL-‘ADL The Utterly Just; The One who is entitled to do what He does.
