GHRCE TEAM AERO HAWK PARTICIPATED NATIONAL LEVEL SAE-INDIA AERO DESIGN COMPETITION AT SRM UNIVERSITY, CHENNAI. SAE INDIA collegiate club, Department of Mechanical Engineering team Aero Hawk participated in National level SAE-India Aero Design Competition-2022 event at SRM University Chennai. This national level event was held from 1 st to 3 rd September 2022. A team of 7 students from Department of Mechanical Engineering represented our collegein this national level event. In this event students have participated in 6 kg weight regular category aircraft design. Students have performed CFD analysis for aerodynamic wings design and CAD drawings were made to construct the aircraft model that can lift up to 4 kg payload. Total 67 teams were selected for final demonstration of their flight in different category. The first day of the event was dedicated to flight inspection followed by questions by the technical experts regarding various design aspects of the flight which was successfully completed by our team. The second round checks the presentation and communication skills. Here each team has to give a presentation on their design steps and various strategies adopted for the fabrication of the flight. In the final round, a team member identified as Pilot has to fly the team’s remote control operated flight with the payload. All the rounds were successfully completed by our team. Team members enjoyed and learned a lot from this 3 day national level event. The students got important feedbacks on their design from various industry and academic experts form aerodynamic field. Apart from gaining the technical skills they also learned about time management and how to take various stepping stones to solve the real world technical challenges. The team Aero Hawk participated in this event under mentorship of Dr. Nilesh Awate, and Dr. Abdul Rahman Khan, SAE Collegiate Club GHRCE Nagpur.
