The event was run on a minimal budget and dependent on the support of the partici- pants’ friends and families. AlAdaid Desert Challenge 2017 | EVENT REPORT AL ADAID DESERTCHALLENGE 2020 | RACE REPORT ON THE THRESHOLD OF AWESOME Our team has started with activities to organize one of the most anticipated mass start events in Qatar. This gives us great confidence but also responsibility to deliver what participants expect is an awesome event. The intensity of the work is always seen on weary faces on the finish line, gaunt from lack of sleep, haunted by endless tasks, by worst-case scenarios, and by the merciless passage of the hours. But all of this is rewarded by the weary but smiley, happy faces of competitors when they reach the finish line. I know then, from history, that our event will be OK. In fact, it will be awesome. It will be awesome because the work we do. It will be awesome because our supporters are some of the most generous and understanding and good-looking people ever and they will forgive minor mistakes.
