2023 Grand Alumni DR. Indeed, this is a milestone achievement worth celebrating even as we have lingering painful memories of the previous years said to be like no other in living memory, for we have survived and thrived through critical episodes in our lives since we graduated in 1998. Today, we come back to our second home- San Beda College, now University, with a more realistic perspective of life, and with a mind mellowed by age, yet with a heart forever young. We come home, learning how to roll with the punches, and acknowledging that life is indeed unpredictable, with its series of turns and surprises. We come home, afrming our old Bedan traditions, and committing once more to live by the timeless Benedictine values of pax (peace) , ora et labora (pray and work) which guided us through the years, to become better and more actualized souls. We come home, for we know our Bedan fellowship will never come apart, since this came from our genuine Bedan hearts. We come home, so we can pursue relentlessly the building of a better world. Welcome home, dear Bedans!

4-43 St. Bernard Grateful Sons of San Beda University 2023 Silver Jubilarians By Jayson Edward B. San Juan ANGELES, RONALD ALLAN M. School reunions are often happy events; these are occasions to walk down memory lane, longing for that youthful energy and AQUINO, NIÑO E. exuberance that we all have had once. Pretty exciting stuff. But trafcking in nostalgia carries with it the risk of forgetting, with ARDEVELA, DEYV ERROL S. (+) recollections fading as time passes. So here are a few pieces that our collective memories can still call upon. AURORA, MANUEL JR. S. Section 4-43 (St. Bernard of Clairvaux) of San Beda High School Class BAUTISTA, JOSEPH PAOLO B. of 1998 originally set itself out as a pre-medical section. The rigor of academic life during high school was tempered by non-academic BAYOT, DONNELL G. pursuit: while the class competed and excelled against other sections in several academic subjects, ours also produced achievers and leaders CASTILLO, BERNABE RYANN T. in non-academic endeavors like the Student Coordinating Board, Citizen's Army Training, Senior Scouting, and the NCAA Juniors CAYANAN, EMIL MARK C. Division, among others. CORIA, JOMEL M. In victory and defeat, Section 4-43 was cheered on by our homeroom advisers: Ms. Mat Santos (Ôrst quarter) and Ms. Mhel Yusores DE GUZMAN, ADRIAN H. (second to fourth quarter). They were our second moms; Ma'am Mat and Ma'am Mhel patiently held our hands and guided our feet with a DUMAQUITA, NARDO III B. deep sense of values, as we made our life journey from childhood to adulthood. EMPESTAN, KARL PHILIP N. Some in the class pursued medicine; they are now seasoned doctors, ENCINA, PAOLO ALEJANDRO G. nurses, and healthcare professionals serving here and abroad. We thank them for their service during the pandemic. I left that firm because of differences in principles! We a Bedan, is a CPA, my parents wanted me to become a CPA were 14 partners that made a stand and were referred to as too. It was my mother who guided and encouraged me to take mutineers! I never regretted the decision I made that historic day up Accountancy and to follow the footsteps of my father. Being in my life! an obedient son, I took up Accountancy, graduated from San Beda with average, above average grades, and passed the CPA A year after we left SGV, we decided to form our own firm as we boards in the same year. I was not even a topnotcher. I was an felt responsible for those who shared our cause and left their ordinary, average person just like many of you here! It was not comfort zone. That was Marvin Martija, a Bedan just like you and me. 2012, barely 2 years in operations, we hired the Top 1, Top 2, Top 3 and Top 4 in the May 2012 boards. It should be noted that was the first time in the history of the Philippine Accounting profession that the top 4 joined the same company! Then again, that Top 1 in the May 2012 CPA boards was another Bedan, Manuel P. Buensuceso, Jr. And year on year topnotchers joined us and just before the pandemic hit us. We hired the Top 1 in the October 2019 CPA boards and the Top 1 in the Bar Exams as well because we also have a very strong Tax Practice!
