MaxiTPMS LASER MEASURING TECHNOLOGY TBE200
TBE200 Laser Measurement System • Laser-enabled tire tread depth & brake disc wear examiner that provides users with quick and accurate wear measurements • TBE200 provides uneven wear analysis and detailed replacement & maintenance suggestions for quick tire service • The TBE200 dual cameras enable users to document tire wear and damage and scan Tire Identification Number • Use the tool separately, or with ITS600 to view and print detailed TPMS reports that include tire and brake disc wear information.
Choosing Mode of Operation • The TBE200 has 2 modes of tire Tread depth Measurement. When using All Tread Check Mode, a Laser measurement will be taken at 3 locations for each Tire. Measurements are taken at 3 positions at adjacent points in the tire tread. The inner Middle and Outer sections of adjacent tread blocks are measured to get the most accurate information regarding tread wear. Detailed measurements across the tread enable to the tool to identify uneven wear characteristics. Single or All Check Mode can be selected in the “Check Settings Menu • Choose “Check Settings” then scroll down to “Tread check mode”, tap the selection and choose the appropriate setting
Single Check Mode • Single Check Mode provide a fast and easy single tread depth measurement taken from the center of the tread. Although the depth measurement at that center location will be very accurate it may not give thorough information regarding the tire wear characteristics across the entire tread area • Choose “Tread Check” once you see the illustration of the vehicle and tires, measure the tires in the order indicated on the tool. Place the head of the tool flat to the tread surface and activate the laser with a single press of the physical button.
Single Check Mode • Once the measurements have been taken the technician can review detailed information on the wear pattern as well as view service recommendations. Swipe to the left to reveal more details. Up 2 4 times to view each tire. • In single check mode, because information was only collected from the center of the tread, irregular wear at the outer tread blocks may not appear • The tool will also calculate the decrease in braking performance relative to the tires condition Swipe Left for additional info
Single Check Mode • When viewing specifics on each tire location we can swipe up to reveal additional operations that are available in these menus • Following Braking performance and wear analysis several options are presented. The selections on the following screen will allow tech to make notations related to the wear characteristics as well as take photos to later be included in the report
Single Check Mode DOT Capture • A Wi-Fi connection is required to capture and decode DOT information • The TBE 200 is equipped with an on-board camera to capture images of tire wear irregularities to enhance our vehicle health report. Tap the check if the photo is acceptable. Tap x to reshoot. • The next option is DOT scan
Input Tire Specification 1. Tire Manufacturer- Michelin, Goodyear ect. 4. Structure Type Code R=Radial D=Bias Plie 2. Tread Width (mm across tread area) 5. Rim/wheel Diameter 3. Aspect Ratio (Sidewall Height) 6 Load Index (maximum weight capacity) 7. Speed Rating- Highest speed limited by design
All Tread Check Mode Achieve more detailed tire wear data data by measuring the outer, middle and inner portions of the tire tread area. These measurements will enable the TBE200 to identify uneven wear characteristics. The tool will then make service recommendations for each wheel based on the results. Possible service solutions include • Replace tire • Wheel alignment • Tire rotation • Worn chassis components
All Tread Check Mode • All Tread Check mode will also offer the user all the data input and dot code scanning that is available using the Single check mode such as tire specifications, condition, the ability to take photos of damaged areas and scan and decode DOT information to determine a tires age.
Quick Check Mode Quick Check Mode combines Single check mode tread measurement with brake rotor surface wear measurement. Why measure Brake disc surface wear? • Brake disc surface wear is not easily identifiable by eye • Excess degradation of the cast iron can cause cracks leading to a total component failure • Excess wear make brake rotors susceptible to warping leading to a pulsation when applying the brake • When technicians are determining whether to replace pads only or pads and discs, rotor wear information can be crucial to the integrity of repairs and reduction of comebacks.
Quick Check Mode • Quick Check Mode is the fastest and easiest for a technician to evaluate the condition of the tires and brake rotors before the vehicle enters the service bay. Even before a complete vehicle inspections service advisors can offer customers replacement tires, a wheel alignment or brake component replacement to speed up parts ordering and expedite their bay turnover
Brake Disc Check • This function allows the Brake rotor surface wear to be measured independent of the tire tread depth measuring functions. In the order displayed on the tool. Place the tool’s magnetic tip on the rotor 90 degrees so the laser will span from the hub and the edge of the disc. Swiping left will display the information for each brake rotor. 0.1 refers to the amount of surface wear on the brake rotor. 1/10TH of a millimeter. Typical threshold for replacement is 1.0 mm of material worn off the surface. These rotors are in great condition.
Vehicle Check Settings • Choose the number of tires being tested • Chose between metric and imperial units of measure • Selectable seasonal tire specification. Wear thresholds are can be adjusted for summer winter and all-season tires. • Choose whether the tool wis default to All Tread Check Mode or Single Check • Selectable wear limit specifications for Brake rotor replacement.
Additional Features • Swipe left on the main menu to select additional options • Data Query will allow technicians to pull up measurement specs from the last vehicle that was evaluated.
TBE200 Calibration Plate/Stand • In order to ensure optimal performance, calibrate the TBE200 monthly using the included calibration stand. The calibration also has holes for mounting screws so it can be affixed to a location permanently and double as a stand. The calibration process is executed with one touch of the physical button and takes about 30 seconds to complete

Enhancing the TBE200 with the ITS600 • The TBE200 will offer optimal performance when paired with the ITS600 TPMS tool • The TBE200 is designed to pair with the ITS600 or used independently to provide seamless data integration between TPMS, Tire wear and brake disc information. • When used in conjunction with the ITS600, The TBE will take advantage of the ITS600’s larger screen and enable the user to not only collect tire tread and brake disc wear information but combine it with TPMS information from the ITS 600 to produce comprehensive vehicle health reports that include detailed information for both service areas. • These reports can then be printed and presented to customers or kept as service records for the repairer
ITS600 Basic Operation: Vehicle Selection • Tap TPMS on the tool’s main menu • In addition to automatic VIN detection, the vehicle can be identified by using the optical scanner (camera) built into the tool. You can scan the VIN plate through the driver’s side windshield or the door placard sticker • If visual identification with the camera is unsuccessful or the vin information is not present visually, Tap the Auto Vin Detection icon. The tool will identify the application electronically through the OBDII Diagnostic Port.
TPMS Service Interface Once vehicle selection has been completed trigger your sensors, we need to collect data from the tpms sensors in order to perform a diagnostic. Tap the diagnostic tab and make sure that the VCI200 is inserted and communicating with the vehicle
TPMS Diagnose • The tool has now retrieved the stored sensor data from the TPMS control module. • The remaining 3 sensors are working correctly as the ID numbers match • We will have to create a replacement Autel- MX sensor for the FL as it did not activate • Autel offers 4 different programming methods. Select programming
Position Relearn • After tapping on the relearn tab, follow the vehicle specific instructions to perform a relearn procedure. • You can initiate an OBD write to vehicle relearn • Clear TPMS module related DTCs
Preforming Laser Measurement with the ITS600: Wear Detection Make sure your tool is connected. In addition to pairing with the TBE200 This will also be required for updating the ITS600 • Swipe down from the top of the screen to access the menu options. • Tap the Cog icon to access system settings. • Tap WLAN. Move the slider to the right position to turn on Wi-Fi • Tap the appropriate Wi-Fi network and enter the password if required.
