RI PRESIDENT MESSAGE A I look back on 2020, I reflect on how our lives have changed. The global COVID-19 pandemic brought pain and loss to many of us. And for almost all of us, our daily lives, family time, and work also changed this year. But we’ve made it to the end of this difficult year, not on our own but by reaching out to one another, as we always do in Rotary. With each passing year, I become prouder of our organization. I will choose to remember 2020 as a year of great Change and strength for us; Rotary didn’t stop, deSpite the pandemic. We removed obstacles, found new ways to connect, and embraced new approaches to Service, such as online projects and virtual fundraising. I have invited two Rotarians to share their stories about how Rotary grew stronger this year. These stories should give us all reasons to be optiMistic about Rotary in the year ahead. We are not just surviving; we are gaining strength. We are discovering how resilient our organization truly is. We are seeing for ourselves how Rotary Opens Opportunities- even during pandemics – to grow, connect, and engage our members and the communities we serve. DISTRICT GOVERNOR MESSAGE My Dear Rotaractors, I am privileged to interact with you through this medium. Diwali festivities are just over but though a bit late, let me present Seasons Greetings to each one of you and solicit your support for the cause of humanity for our District 3170. Rotaract has always been very near to my heart as I believe that it is the Youths of Today who can write a better future for the Community of Tomorrow. You are not afraid to accept Changes and Challenges and thiS Rotary idealism to a higher pedestal. R.I. President Holger Knaack also mentions at every given instance about Rotaract and expresses his belief in you!! As we all know that before the 1st July 2020, Rotaract was a Program of Rotary. But with the change approved at the C.O.L. in 2019, known as the 1972 amendment, Rotaract now is a member of Rotary International and enjoy the same status as Rotary Clubs. The then R.I. President Barry Rasin proposed that it was time that we give equal status to the Rotaractors and pave their way to join Rotary. Rotaractors now can also havea duel membership.In fact Rotary Clubs are advised to grant concessions in their annual fees to Rotaractors and attract them towards their clubs.However also note that Rotaractors now would be asked to pay their Annual Statutory Dues to the Rotary International w.e.f. 1st July 2021. The amounts of this S.A.R dues are yet to be finalized, but it could be between US $ 5 to 8 annually. Our District has a very good Rotaract Movement. But it needs to escalate and Rotaract Clubs need to work more. I appeal to all Rotaractors to gear up and rejuvenate the Rotaract Movement.DRR Rtr. Sahil & his team are putting in efforts and I appreciate that. You need to extend Rotaract and ensure that good many new Clubs are formed and those dormant clubs are reactivated. Remember that Rotaract Opens Opportunities for you in many ways. It shall pave a DISHA for each one of you in your future life. Rotaractors from District 3170 have always crossed the barriers of Language, Culture and Food and have set an example which has inspired thousands if not millions. The history of the bonds that we share can be traced back to as many as 48 years when District 3170 was formed. HOST CLUB ROTARACT CLUB OF KOLHAPUR MIDTOWN P HOENIX Rotaract Club of Kolhapur Midtown Phoenix: In its name lies strength and power like Phoenix bird which rises from its own ashes. Talking about history of Rotaract Club Of Kolhapur Midtown Phoenix , firstly there was a club formed by Phoenix members which didn’t last more than two years named as Rotaract Club Of Dakshinkashi. So , the members thought of club revival and changed the name to Phoenix and since then there is no turning back. Our club rised like a phoenix which is a mythological bird that cyclically regenerates or is otherwise born again. Associated with fire and the sun, a phoenix obtains new life by arising from the ashes of its predecessor. Rotaract Club of Kolhapur Midtown Phoenix has a great history and tradition of pure rotaraction, chartered on 21st February 1997 and working till date with the same zeal and enthusiasm. Our club has legacy of great leaders and Past 24 years phoenix has been serving the society with outstanding projects and has set milestones in history of rotaract. Our club has amazing leaders through which our club has grown to newer heights and won best of best awards to the club from Best Club President, Best Club Secretary, Best In Club Service Avenue, Best In Community Service Avenue ,Best In Professional Service Avenue and many DRR Appreciation awards in RID 3170. Our club has given 3 DRR’s in very short span of time. And best part of its is all those DRR’s i.e, PDRR Hrishikesh Khot sir, PDRR Manoj Munishwar sir and PDRR Rishikesh Jadhav have received most prestigious award i.e outstanding DRR Awards among south Asia. ROTARACT CLUB OF GADHINGLAJ Rotaract club of Gadhinglaj was started 2 years back by Rtr. Dr. Sfurti kambale when she was the president of the Rotaract Club Of Kolhapur Midtown Phoenix. The club was chatered on 9th april 2019. The first installation ceremony ‘abhidnya’ was taken place on 30th august 2020. The president, are Rtr. Anmol sutar With 14 people in board of directors, the total number of members is 27. The best project done in last 5 months by our club is a district project ‘hand for paw’ from which we collected rs.1500 and donated the fund to the local animal welfare organisation. To raise the fund, we arranged two competitions where either we had to write a story about your pet or to send a photograph with or of your pet. In future, we look forward to organise some projects like Sport activities, District initiative ‘sabala’, Ryla, Club outing, Charter celebration and many more. Because of the pandemic, the club couldn’t make it to the in person projects we aimed to take which could have been more beneficial to the club as well as . the society. As this year brings new . opportunities to the rotaract, we wish rotaract touches new heights. .

Kolhapur’s cultural & history dates back to 17th Century. The city is situated in the Western Maharashtra on the banks of River Panchganga Kolhapur is also referred as Dakshin Kashi (Dakshin in Marathi/Hindi/Sanskrit means South, Kashi is a holy city in Northern India) due to its rich religious history. The club has been chartered in 1972 and ever since, it has been a club that always demands dynamic leadership and colorful growth. In this pandemic we have faced many issues as we cannot connect physically with our members so it was difficult to do activities. Established in 2018,the KIT Sunshine club is one of the youngest and fastest-growing clubs.As a non-profit organization, we primarily focus on four main aspects. Club service, Community service, International Service, Professional development. Club Located in one of the prominent cities in Maharashtra, Kolhapur,the KIT sunshine club promotes the development of leadership and professional skills. On 27/09/2019, a rally was organized for all the environment lovers let by prominent environmentalists such as Nitin Doiphode. This project received huge support from KIT students and students from other schools and colleges. Remarkably, this was the first rally in western Maharashtra. The oldest club being 47 years old while the youngest club being just 3 months old. The Zone comprises of oddly 300 Rotaractors with average age of the zone being 21 years which makes it the youngest zone of our district. In past the club has know have won many awards. The very first drr of the district was rotaract club of belgaum. The club was re-establised in the year 2019-20. Starting with a club strenght of 15 members was installated on 10th august 2019. Now club strength being 19 members. After re-eastablishing the club in 2019-20, the was awarded with 2 zonal awards that is best community service award and best zonal event award. We have done Project akanksha (community service) an empolyment issue project to empower the local daily wage workers with self employment. started in the month of october. again, a year-round project with a sets of 3 phase. A zone which has created many DRRs and having more than 700 plus Rotaractors from 9 community based clubs and 7 institutional based once. Yes! Goa zone has total of 16 clubs… As every other organisation due to pandemic there were problems faced but Goa zone accepted this challenge as the opportunity to execute most innovative and impactful projects during this time. ROTARACT CLUB OF CURCHOREM SANVORDEM The Rotaract Club of Curchorem Sanvordem is a community based club nestled in the pristine twin towns of Curchorem and Sanvordem (pron. Kudchade, Savarde) on either side of the Zuari River in Southern District of Goa. The club was chartered in the year 2009 and revived in the year 2019 under the Presidential Tenure of Rtr. Vishal Naik. The club holds a total of 15 members ranging from different professionals to students. The club in its revival year has successfully completed over 100+ projects and has bagged the prestigious Best Emerging Club of Goa (Zonal Awards) and Best Emerging Club (DRR Recognition Award) for the year 2019-20. We have done Zonal Project Amche Goem. Due to the Global Pandemic this year, things have been very different and challenging in unique ways. As we did not know what to expect out of this situation, we haven’t been able to execute many things we had planned and were keep on doing. A good thing however, was the easily available advancement in technology to our rescue, due to which we have been able to carry out most of our activities online and reach out and connect with people around without putting their lives at risk. ROTARACT CLUB OF BICHOLIM Rotaract club of Bicholim was established on 23rd May 2007. For many past years club was one of the most active clubs of 3170. But due to some unavoidable circumstances, the club had to put off their performance for a couple of years. But it revived from 2017 which was lead by Rtr TilakGawas for the Rota year 2017-18. So in the year 2018-19 Rtr. Harshal Pawar took a lead as a president and the same year we were announced as the best-reviving club in RID 3170. Our club is known for sports activities. In the year 2019-20, we won the district sports meet. The club participated in mridangam for the first time and performed well. The biggest achievement for the club till today is winning the best club of the district 3170 for the year 2019-20. For this year our club theme is ध्येय – Innovating beyond the horizon. I believe ध्यये reveal a route that we can take. As an individual our ध्यये is to be a better person, always be learning, never give up, and give our best. Live with purpose and passion every day. “Let’s innovate beyond the horizon”. RAC Bicholim had successfully hosted “Rota E-MUN” an innovative event that majorly focuses on building leadership and communication skills among the youth. Due to the pandemic there was a loss of communication as physical meetings were not possible so to push the club was a task. ROTARACT CLUB OF PONDA Rotaract Club of Ponda was chartered on 6th January 2006. Over the years, youth from various fields have been serving the respective posts and guiding the club well. Rotaract Club of Ponda is a professional and community service Organisation. Its dynamic members are motivated to serve the community with various society oriented projects. The club has organised a series of events for the past years. Annual blood donation camps, GhumatUtsav, Chak de, Rota Bazaar, to name a few. The club theme of the year is Resurgence. Resurgence is the growth of an activity and putting in efforts to improve it. It is working and making something better. We as Rotaractors abide by this theme to evolve. Although our club has considers 4th November 1998 as our charter day according to charter certificate , its not our original charter date, our club was initially chartered in month of August in 1973 , and due dormancy in 1990s it was recharted in 1998. Rotaract Club of Narayan Zantye College of Commerce is an institutional based club created for community and social welfare and wellbeing. It is a club from Goa Zone, RID3170 which chartered on 26th May 2016. In August 2020, Rtr. Prathamesh Morgaonkar won the Best president of the month in Goa Zone. The theme of our club is Expedite, Expediting Captivating Opportunities. The word itself explains the Motto and aim of us for this Rota Year 2020-21. The best project initiated by our club was “RakshaStree, Youtube Live Session webinar Talk”. The hallmark of the club has always been its inclusivity and the close bond that members share with each other which goes beyond their roles in the club. The club is also known for doing a wide variety of projects in different sectors such as health, environment, culture preservation and community service. It is also well known for its warm hospitality towards teams visiting through IDYEs and other guests. The club has always been in good terms with local leaders of the town and has joined hands with parent Rotary and Inner Wheel clubs for many projects. Rotaract club of jaysingpur got chartered on 9th september 2012 by its parent club, rotary club of jaysingpur. Our club is just 6 years old but in this small span, our club has achieved some great heights. Rtr. Rohit ingale lead the club as its charter president in 2012. In these years rotaract club of jaysingpur has successfully carried out many local, zonal and district projects and events. The list is really really long so it’s hard to pen down everything here. For the present year our club theme is “WORK TOWARDS POSITIVITY”, since in this year whole world is facing pandemic condition due to Covid-19. There is tremendous uncertainty in all the section of society. Millions of people have lost their lives and jobs also. In this pandemic condition positive attitude is very essential. We have done projects like Doctors’s Day, Nisarg Rakshak, Eco Friendly Ganesh utsav, Webinar on PCOS, Webinar On Women’s Rights and Law’s And Many more. This year we are creating a job portal to improve the financial situation of our college students. We are trying to build the first sanitary bank in our city. In this situation of Corona we had to face many problems but we made good use of it. We are focusing more on online personality development initiatives. So that our club members can benefit from it in the future. ROTARACT CLUB OF GREEN CITY JAYSINGPUR Rotaract Club Of Green City Jaysingpur Is Charter on 17th October 2013. This Year Our Club President Is Rtr. AshitoshChougule And Secretary Rtr. Ashish Kumbhar.We have done a lot of projects in those years. Arranging District Sports meet was the best experience for us. ROTARACT CLUB OF CHIPLUN RATNAGIRI Rotaract Club of Chiplun was firstly founded on the day 29 September 1996. Its been the result of hard work of all the presidents and team members that our club has successfully celebrated it’s 25th Charter Day. As we have set some milestones further, so theme says it all “Together We Can”. We have done project Wheelchair and stretcher donation at lote kharavali wadi. The people there were facing problem for getting medical aid urgently as the main road to get ambulance was far and conjusted. Our club donated them stretcher and wheelchair in the month of September. Our first aim is to keep people aware and safe from this pandemic situation. We have planned to make people aware about this pandemic as well as sanitization Program At social places and schools, college. Meetings held in this pandemic were mostly online; no physical connection was possible in member. Club has worked online as in meeting, events, competition, awareness compaigns. We took this thing as opportunity as we are going digital and gaining so much response . from members as well as from locality.

ROTARACT CLUB OF KRISHA VALLY SANGALI Rotaract Club of Krishna Valley was chartered on 10th of July 2015 with current ZRR of Sangli Zone Rtr. Sharangpani Katti being the Charter president of the same. The club is sponsored by Rotary club of Krishna Valley, Sangli. Rotaract club of Krishna Valley is a household name now in the city of Sangli as we have always been proactive when it comes to serving the community. Time and again the club has come up with various projects that has impacted the society on a longer run. One such project being Ganesh MurtiDaan where people were asked to donate Ganesh idols made from POP instead of doing it’s visarjan into the river which in turn causes river pollution. Over the course of time, the achievements of Rac Krishna Valley have always been recognised by the Rotaract District 3170. We have received numerous awards including DRR citations and District citation awards. The Club theme for the year 2020-21 is Supporting Lives which clearly explains how Rac Krishna Valley has been impactful through years. During the festival of lights i.e. Diwali, Rac Krishna Valley was determined to feed 2000 homeless people or those who live in slums and struggled to meet their daily needs during this Nation wide Lockdown and we have successfully feed almost all of them. The Pandemic and nationwide lockdown forced us to stay indoors and conduct most of our meetings virtually through various platforms. This, at first took some time for getting used to. In last 5 months we did an COVID awareness rally in the month of March. As we do every year we are continuing ‘School of Hope’ project which is a special one and so on.

ROTARACT CLUB OF WCE SANGLI On February 23, 1975, the Rotaract Club of WCE Sangli was instituted for the undergraduate students of Walchand College of Engineering, Sangli. Student-members not just from Maharashtra but hailing from all over India constituted the club. The club has total 55 members. It includes students and young entrepreneurs. Club also known as IPDRR Rahul’s home club. We have done projects like Saksham Bharat - Cake Making Workshop, Green Sahyadri, Eco Friendly Ganesha, Blood Donation Camp, GappaTappa, Day With… And Many More. The club is famous for organising unique and different projects. We done some successful projects like Science hub 2K17, Tasgaon Festival, Flood relief activities, Free Cataract Surgeries, Donation to PM CARES Fund, Covid 19 awareness social media campaign. In this pandemic situation, we are unstoppable and working through continuous series of online projects in this ROTAYear. The theme for this year is Develop Your Wings.
