What is your role as Retail Sales Associate? The major task of a sales associate is to sell a company’s products by demonstrating and specifying product quality. The Retail Sales Associate in organized retailing looks after: ● Demonstrate products to customers, ● Help the customers in choosing right products, ● Provide specialist support to customers facilitating purchases, ● Maximize sales of goods & services, ● Provide personalized sales & post-sales service support to the customers, ● Resolve customer concerns in retail stores, ● Process credit applications for purchases, ● Help to keep the store secure, ● Help to maintain healthy and safety aspects.

Greeting Customers “You just have one opportunity to make a great first impression.”

Traditionally Fragrance (Dhupa) – While receiving guests, the rooms must have a pleasant fragrance because this Five rituals are observed while is the first thing that attracts or detracts guests WELCOMING guests from their visit. A pleasant fragrance will put a guest in good humour. Lamp (Dipa) – A lamp is put between host and guest, so that expression and body language would remain clearly visible, and therefore no gap would be created between host and guest. Tilak – A tilak, often made of a vermilion paste, is put on the forehead, and rice grains are placed on it. This is the highest form of welcome in Hindu Indian families. Flower offering (Pushpa) – A flower is a gesture of goodwill. When the guest departs, the flower symbolizes the sweet memories of the visit, which stay with them for several days. Eatables (Naivedya) – Fruits and sweets are offered to guests, to make him happy & comfortable.



Customers Greeted and are very sensitive to being ignored. Want to be.. They come to the stores to feel like the models and celebrities they see in ads and in magazines. Customers should be greeted within 20 seconds of entering the store Customers should also be greeted when they are close to you anywhere in the store. You must always stop any tasking you may be doing to greet a customer.

Welcome customers with a genuine smile and a non-business greeting. Use different greetings with every customer. Always remember to be sincere. Strike up a conversation and possibly figure out if they need a particular type of style for an upcoming event.

Making a great First Don’t look bored or lean on Impression is a must.. anything But how? Ensure your appearance is as professional as possible Give a smile and make eye contact Never ignore your customers Instead of asking “May I help you”, make them feel special be engaging with them.
