THE GATHERING OF GOD’S PEOPLE The Time For Greeting Each Other And Signing Our Pew Pads The Morning Prelude “Brethren, We Have Met to Worship” arr. Gene Roberson GOD CALLS US TO WORSHIP The Call to Worship— L: Praise the Lord who reigns above! P: And keeps his courts below. L: Praise the holy God of love, P: And all His greatness show! + The Hymn #96 “Praise the Lord Who Reigns Above” + The Opening Prayer— Eternal God, we come to you this morning from the midst of our “busy -ness” to reflect upon our business as your children. Help us to listen to your word today, written and proclaimed, that we might discover an even deeper relationship with you today than we had before. Grant us your presence and your grace! In the name of Jesus, we come! Amen. WE CONFESS OUR SINS The Call to Confession The Prayer of General Confession—

O Lord, it is so easy to become too busy with the less important things of life. We often “sweat the small stuff” of our day to day lives nev- er really grasping the big picture of your Kingdom. Help us in this time of confession to come clean and offer to you our honest choice to leave be- hind our sinful ways and try again to live in and by grace. Remind us that our lives are really about our relationship with you and with each other. Help us to love you, and each other, as Jesus loved us. In His name we humbly come. Amen. Moments For Personal Confession Words of Assurance and Pardon The First Lesson WE SHARE THE WORD Colossians 1:15-23 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation; 16 for in him all things in heaven and on earth were created, things visible and invisi- ble, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or powers—all things have been created through him and for him. 17 He himself is before all things, and in him all things hold together. 18 He is the head of the body, the church; he is the be- ginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that he might come to have first place in everything. 19 For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, 20 and through him God was pleased to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, by making peace through the blood of his cross. 21 And you who were once estranged and hostile in mind, doing evil deeds, 22 he has now reconciled in his fleshly body through death, so as to pre- sent you holy and blameless and irreproachable before him— 23 provided that you continue securely established and steadfast in the faith, without shifting from the hope promised by the gospel that you heard, which has been pro- claimed to every creature under heaven. I, Paul, became a servant of this gos- pel. Response: L: The Word of God for the people of God. All: Thanks be to God! + The Act of Praise #858 (Response #1) Psalm 146 + The Affirmation of Faith #883 + The Gloria Patri #70

Tell her then to help me.” 41 But the Lord answered her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and distracted by many things; 42 there is need of only one thing. Mary has chosen the better part, which will not be taken away from her.” Response M: This is the Word of the Lord. P: Thanks be to God.
