THE GATHERING OF GOD’S PEOPLE The Time For Greeting Each Other And Signing Our Pew Pads The Morning Prelude “Close to Thee” by Bertha R. Frick GOD CALLS US TO WORSHIP The Call to Worship— L: The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. P: And also with you. L: God is known to us in three ways... Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. But God is still one God. P: Praise be to the one God who is and who always will be our strength, our life, and our salvation. + The Hymn # 64 “Holy, Holy, Holy!” + The Opening Prayer— God of eternity, God of our history, God of our everyday; we come to worship you and to celebrate the names in which we have been baptized: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. As we hear your Word proclaimed today, ex- pand our understanding of your mysterious Being, that we may pray with deeper reverence and total trust, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

WE CONFESS OUR SINS The Call to Confession The Prayer of General Confession— Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, we come to you this morning knowing the truth about our lives. We are not yet perfect in love. We find it much easier to condemn others for the way they live than to clean up our own hearts. We seem to ignore the hard times of our brothers and sisters as if they deserve a different kind of treatment than we do. Infinite God of infi- nite grace and forgiveness, we need you now! Come, forgive us, but more than that, purge us of our judgement so that we might move closer to be- coming what you would have us be! Amen. Moments For Personal Confession Words of Assurance and Pardon The First Lesson WE SHARE THE WORD Romans 5:1-5 Therefore, since we are justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom we have obtained access to this grace in which we stand; and we boast in our hope of sharing the glory of God. 3 And not only that, but we also boast in our sufferings, knowing that suf- fering produces endurance, 4 and endurance produces character, and charac- ter produces hope, 5 and hope does not disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us. Response: L: The Word of God for the people of God. All: Thanks be to God! + The Act of Praise # 743 (Response #1) Psalm 8 + The Affirmation of Faith #881 The Apostle’s Creed + The Gloria Patri #70

The Morning Prayer…………………………………………..….The Lord’s Prayer (using trespasses) (Please feel free to say the Lord’s Prayer in your native tongue.) +The Gospel Lesson John 16:12-15 “I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. 13 When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth; for he will not speak on his own, but will speak whatever he hears, and he will declare to you the things that are to come. 14 He will glorify me, because he will take what is mine and declare it to you. 15 All that the Father has is mine. For this reason I said that he will take what is mine and declare it to you. Response M: This is the Word of the Lord. P: Thanks be to God. (Alleluia #901) +The Hymn #85 “We Believe in One True God” (Those who want to praise God for an answered prayer may come forward and place a stone in the jar during this hymn.)
