PEACE All wars are fought over lands invading forces armed with death Envy and Greed We all live upon this planet why not be happy with the gifts laid at our table in each part of this big wheel that keeps on turning cogs Each a vein that bleeds from the arteries of this earth belongs to each one of us born In the end we become part of it so why fight in truth We are the source of life born from love with the divine power and beauty within our hearts to restore peace One sound, one syllable It is a simple gift as it should be free for all Poor or rich Never to be in fear Worry or paranoid About things that go boom in the nightShape shifting hands that steal sleep from the young Crushing little dreams of innocent souls Why slither behind dark alleys With a thousand faces When one light conquers all hearts When the heart of all matters Lays solely in One sound, one syllable PEACE

POEM STYLES AND INSPIRATIONSDUETThis Free Verse poem was inspired by the music video 'Kungfu Piano: Cello Ascends' performed by ThePianoGuys. The notion of putting a grand piano on the Great Wall in China and performing there wasastounding. The theme and melody arrangement in the music video fitted the local scenery perfectly,complimenting each other in harmony.BUDDING DREAMThis is unrhymed Tercets with Sweet Sixteen's. A new poem style of 3 lines written in 16 syllables each.TETRAODONTIDAEThis poem is written in the Clouded Luck style that Liam created. It starts with 3 lines of 9, 10 and 10 syllables,then rising with one more syllable added to the second and third line of each verse consecutively. That is, thefirst line will keep to the 9 syllables count and the second and third line will rise from 10 syllables to 13syllables. The poem ends with 3 lines of 13 syllables each, which denotes the unlucky number in the CloudedLuck style.CELESTIAL BEINGThis poem is written in Tercets (a three-lined stanza), consisting of alexandrines (12 syllables) in each line. Wehave put together 11 verses of Tercets, resulting in 33 lines. This is 3-person collaboration with Liam McDaid(Ireland), Michael McCabe (Ireland) and Angeline Lim (Malaysia).DUELThe poem was inspired by the duel scene between actor Tony Chiu Wai Leung and actress Ziyi Zhang in themovie 'The Grandmaster' directed by Kar Wai Wong. This is a 2013 Hong Kong movie that tells the life storyof a martial arts master (Tony Chiu Wai Leung) who taught the Wing Chun martial art style to Bruce Lee.PHANTOM SPRITESThe poem was inspired by the electrical phenomena in the night sky called Sprite (lightning). This poem ismade up of 8 stanzas with the first seven stanzas following the 7-9-7-9-9 syllables and the ending stanza with7-9-7-9-9-9 syllables.
