Shri Bhupesh Baghel, Hon. Chief Minister - Chhattisgarh Jindal Children Homes inaugurated In its stride to build an inclusive India, where every child is groomed to be a healthy, educated and responsible citizen of our Country, JSPL Foundation has built two Children Homes admeasuring 44000 sq ft in a lush green campus in Tamnar. Hon’ble Chief Minister, Chhattisgarh Shri Bhupesh Baghel Ji inaugurated and dedicated the Jindal Children Homes to the People On-line on 9th March, on the auspicious Birthday of our Honb’ble Chairman Shri Naveen Jindal Ji. Hon. Chairman, JSP Mr. Naveen Jindal and Est Chairperson of JSPL Foundation Smt. Shallu Jindal rendered their august presence in the Inauguration event. Presently there are 100 beds in both Girls and Boys Children Homes where the Foundation is extending holistic nurturing support for the parentless and underprivileged Children providing food, nutrition, health care, education, sports, art & craft, performing art and other faculties for physical and intellectual growth of the Children. Besides providing the accommodation, food & nutrition support, the Children Homes are having facilities like Dining Hall, Activity / performance Hall, Yoga Hall, 24×7 water and electricity, Security, CC camera, Isolation rooms, Health care through a multi-speciality Hospital and 100% school enrolment for quality education. So far 37 children have joined the Jindal Children Home with the facilitation support by Dist. Administration under the purview of JJ Act 2015 read with the Model Care rules 2016. JSPL Foundation will also impart skill training to the Children and augment their employability so that they enable themselves to build the tomorrow of our Country. 58 | Jindal | March 2022
Soccer coaching for girls The JSPL Foundation has started a football coaching programme for 20 girls of villages around Patratu plant with the objective to empower them, and to promote sports as a career opportunity. O P Jindal Star Scholarships Ten meritorious students have been awarded the prestigious O P Jindal Star Scholarships for the current year. These scholarships are given every year on the basis of 10th board examination merit list. Eight girls and two boys, from government schools in villages surrounding Raigarh, were selected for the scholarship. Congratulating the students, Mr Dinesh Kumar Saraogi, COO, Chhattisgarh, said that Babuji, Shri O P Jindal, always worked for all-round development of the area. NABARD skilling grant The Regional Office of National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), Raipur, has provided a grant from Rural Development Fund to O P Jindal Community College, Punjipathra, under its “Employment through Skill Initiative” project. In the first phase, this grant has been received for 120 seats for electrician and welder trades. Skill training will be provided to 120 trainees by March 31, 2022. State Higher Education and Skill Development Minister, Mr Umesh Patel, was the chief guest at the inauguration of this training program. Jindal | March 2022 | 61
Sewing training centre In its efforts towards making women self-reliant, a sewing training centre has been established by the JSPL Foundation at Indira Nagar, Raigarh. Women members will be given free training here. A training capsule of 6 months has been designed. Raigarh Mayor, Ms Janki Katju, inaugurated this sewing training centre. She appreciated the efforts made by the JSPL Foundation and said that it is very important for women to be self-reliant. 62 | Jindal | March 2022
Cancer awareness camp On World Cancer Day recently, awareness programmes were organized by JSPL Foundation in partnership with Fortis OP Jindal Hospital, Raigarh. Through these programmes, organized in seven villages around the plant, an attempt was made to create awareness about cancer and preventive measures.
