Special Workout & Nutrition Session Organized at Raigarh Raigarh: Mr. Conrad, the fitness trainer of Hon’ble Chairman Sh. Naveen Jindal Ji has conducted sessions on fitness, health, and nutrition for gym trainers, physiotherapists and yoga teachers at Raigarh. Separate sessions were also conducted for employees and their families. The participants had positive feedback on the session. Govardhan-Kranti scheme Raigarh: JSP Foundation started Govardhan Kranti Scheme in Raigarh district for livestock development. Under the scheme, artificial insemination is used to enhance the reproductive performances of dairy animals like cows & buffalo at Govardhan centers. The enhanced breeds are expected to give more milk. Primary health facilities for these animals will also be available at these centers. Jindal | October 2022 | 51
Self-Defence Training Raigarh: JSP Raigarh has conducted Self Defence training “KravMaga” through Krav Maga Global India, Mumbai for employees, security personnel, and the family members of the employees. Four batches have undergone the KravMaga training. A total of 226 employees of JSP-Raigarh in 4 batches have benefited from self-defense training. Learning self-defense techniques can give confidence and power – the power to be in control during a life-threatening situation. Gym at village Kalmi Raigarh: A healthy body is the biggest asset and regular exercise is necessary for fitness. Keeping this in mind, a Gym was gifted to Kalmi village by JSP Foundation adjacent to the plant. Modern machines have been provided in the gym focusing on the youth. National Sports Day Raigarh: JSP Foundation celebrated National Sports day by paying floral tributes to the legendary hockey player Major Dhyanchand. A goodwill hockey match was organized on the occasion at Raigarh stadium.Assistant Director of the Sports &YouthWelfare Department, Mr. Jeevan Nayak expressed his gratitude to the JSP Foundation for continuous support and encouragement. A water cooler was provided by JSP Foundation for the Stadium on the occasion. Convocation ceremony Patratu: OP Jindal Community College, Patratu conducted its 13th convocation ceremony for 335 Students of its vocational courses in Electrician, Fitter & Welder under NCVET-ITI, NBCFDC, and NABARD for the academic year 2020-22 and 2021-22 on 17th September at its Patratu campus on the occasion of VISHWAKARMA DIWAS. Nikshay Poshan Yojana Patratu: Deputy Development Commissioner, Ramgarh Sh. Nagendra Sinha inaugurated the JSP Foundation’s nutrition supplement distribution program for TB patients of Patratu block. About 200 patients from the Patratu block are registered with the Govt. and they will be benefitted from the program. The program supports to ‘Pradhanmantri Nikshay Poshan Yojana’ under ‘Pradhanmantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan’. The program will be executed in close coordination with District Health Committee, Ramgarh. National Nutrition Week Observed Patratu: National Nutrition Week was celebrated from September 1 to September 7 aimed at promoting the importance of a well- balanced diet, replete with all the necessary nutrients that our body requires for various functions and for the upkeep of our overall health. The week-long program by JSP Foundation created awareness among 209 mothers of operational villages in Patratu. 54 | Jindal | October 2022
JSP Foundation Congratulates Mountaineer Yashi Jain Raigarh: Pride of Chhattisgarh and the daughter of Raigarh, Mountaineer Yashi Jain has been selected for the Mount Kilimanjaro expedition, the highest mountain on the African Continent. She has been congratulated by JSP Foundation for her achievement. She was given a tri-color by Plant Head Sh. R.K. Ajmeria. Yashi has done Everest Base Camp {17600 ft} in December 2017, Kala Patthar {18510 ft}, Mount Jogin in May 2018, and Europe’s highest peak Elbrus in 2019. On 11 January 2020, she hoisted the flag of Jindal Panther along with hoisting the tri-color on Mount Iceland Pick of Nepal. Jindal | October 2022 | 55
World FIRST AID Day Tamnar: On 10th September, First Aid training was organized by JSP Foundation at JPL Tamnar for Swasthya Sanginis (the women health workers from villages working under the Vatsalaya project). Dr. Ashwani Patel, Medical Officer, OPJHRC, Tamnar delivered the training. Around 50 women village health workers got edified. National Eye Care Week Tamnar: National eye care week was observed from 1st to 7th September by JSP Foundation at JPL Tamnar. During the week eye-health awareness programs were conducted in the Govt. schools. Felicitation Program for Academic Achievers Tamnar: On 6th September felicitation program was organized for meritorious students of OP Jindal School-Savitri Nagar, and OP Jindal Higher Secondary School-Kunjemura. The academic achievers of classes X & XII were extolled with merit certificates and mementos for raising the benchmarks. Sh. C.N. Singh, Unit Head, JPL presided over the ceremony and blessed 60 students for their future endeavors. Tailoring Training Unit Inaugurated Barbil: With the support of the JSP Foundation a tailoring training cum production center has been inaugurated at Jan Jeevika Kendra, Barbil. The 6 months long training will benefit 30 women in a batch. Business Unit head Mr. Brij Badhadra, Deojhar panchayat Sarpanch Mr. Dhurba Charan Naik, and PS member Mrs. Laxmi Munda have inaugurated the program. Jindal | October 2022 | 57
Medals for Wushu Players Barbil: It is a moment of pride for the JSP foundation as WUSHU martial arts players have scored well at the 21st Junior National Wushu Championship held from 1st to 6th Sep at Calicut, Kerala. In this tough competition of 29 contesting teams, the JSP Foundation supported players grabbed 2 Gold, 1 silver, and 1 bronze medal. The players were given warm welcome and suitably rewarded for their achievements. Lac Cultivation Training Barbil: JSP Foundation has supported 71 farmers with Lac Seeds and cultivation training. A refresher training has been provided to farmers regarding the protection of culture from diseases, insects, and pests. A Gator machine for spraying medicines and medicines to treat diseases caused by fungus and pests has been provided to a Lac cultivation Cluster. 20 cultivators from a cluster have attended the training. Similar training will be provided to one more cluster consisting of 42 cultivators. 58 | Jindal | October 2022
Mahila Sammelan Tamnar: Mahila Sammelan was organized on 8th August under the CSR week celebration at the School auditorium. In the program topics like- gender equality and promotion of income generation activities under NRLM (National Rural Livelihoods Mission) were discussed to make women self-reliant. A resource person from PRADAN (Professional Assistance for Development Action) delivered about Govt. schemes for women SHGs. More than 350 women attended the sammelan. Blood Donation Camp Tamnar: Blood Donation Camp was organized on 10th August at OPJHRC-Tamnar in joint collaboration with Red Cross Society and OPJHRC-Raigarh. World Tribal Day Tamnar: World Tribal Day was observed on 9th August. Folk tribal dances were presented by the girls of Govt. schools of Godi & Rabo. Traditional folk dance Karma was also presented by the local folk artist of the village Mahloi. Girls of both schools were felicitated with traditional folk musical instruments for ethnic Karma Dance. National Nutrition Week Tamnar: National Nutrition Week (NWN) is observed from 1 September to 7 September every year to educate people about the significance of nutrition. JSP Foundation at JPL Tamnar organized National Nutrition week awareness programs and nutrition classes for parents of malnourished children, and pregnant and lactating mothers.
