The Backstory This outstanding Kollel was established over ten years ago in the town of Beitar Ilit. The Kollel’s goal is provide an optimum learning environment to enable serious avreichim fulfil their great potential and become Morei Hora’ah, Magidei Shiurim and Gedoei BaTorah. The Kollel has gained a reputation as a place of intense and focused Torah study. It attracts highly talented avreichim, who fill the Bais Medrash with vibrant and passionate learning. Single-minded in their pursuit of absolute mastery of their learning, the avreichim are committed to uninterrupted learning for numerous hours a day. The Kollel’s immense success in nurturing greatness in Torah is evident from its ranks of outstanding alumni. As a Kollel that focuses on high-level Halacha learning, it is a Makom Torah that is ideal for those wishing to gain Semicha. Indeed many of the Kollel’s prominent graduates are eminent Morei Tzedek for various Chassidish communities including HaGaon HaRav Chaim Yitzchok Rabinowitz shlita - Boyan, HaGaon HaRav Menachem Koritz shlita - Pinsk-Karlin, HaGaon HaRav Hillel Asher shlita - Chasidei Boston, HaGaon HaRav Dovid Aharoni shlita – affiliated with Rav Tupik’s Bais Medrash, HaGaon HaRav Yehuda Klein shlita, Marbitz Torah and Rov Khal Adas Yeshurun – Masmidim, HaGaon HaRav Meir Tupik shlita – Rosh Av Bais Din.
Roshei HaKollel The avreichim have the great zechus to be guided and nurtured by two outstanding Talmidei Chachamim. Under the able leadership of these eminent Roshei Kollel, the avreichim have the unparalleled opportunity to grow tremendously in their Torah learning. Rav Avraham Mordechai Suffrin shlita, son of the Makomarna Rebbe, Yerushalayim, is the morning Rosh Kollel. He is proficient in a great many areas of Torah including Gemara and Shulchan Aruch, as well as Toras HaNistar. Rav Suffrin’s remarkable breadth as well as depth in Torah, endows him with the unique ability to guide his Talmidim in a plethora of areas of learning. Much sought-after to teach and guide others, Rav Suffrin heads a Halacha Kollel in Yerushalayim in the afternoons, and a Kollel on Toras HaNistar in the evenings. Rav Suffrin’s impact on the Torah world continues to spread, as his Talmidim go on to serve on Batein Din in a range of communities. Rav Dovid Hofstein shlita is the Rosh Kollel for the afternoons. As a son- in-law of the Admor of Zvhill ztvk”l, Rav Hofstein is a scion of greatness in Torah and Chassidus. With his tremendous Torah knowledge, he is a role model for the avreichim and greatly enriches their learning.

Learning in the Kollel The Kollel’s learning is carefully structured to enable avreichim to ultimately reach great clarity in the Gemara, and mastery in Halacha. Avreichim delve into the Gemara and Shulchan Aruch. These are avreichim who have already spent many years studying in other Kollelim and have gained a strong base in many areas of learning. They have reached a stage that they wish to study on an extremely high level, with a specific goal of gaining Halachic expertise. Regular Chazara of material covered is an integral part of the Kollel’s learning. The Roshei Kollel play an active role in directing their
l Talmidim in their learning. Their invaluable input has a great effect on the avreichims’ growth in learning. The avreichim participate in a rotation of delivering Chaburos to their peers. This feature of the Kollel’s learning is integral to the avreichims’ development. Through preparing and delivering their Chabura, the avreichim must ensure they have indeed mastered the topic of their Chabura. Intense debate among the avreichim is a natural offshoot of the Chaburos, and adds greatly to elucidating and mastering the topics. In addition, giving a Chabura develops the avreichims’ teaching and oratory skills, thus preparing them for future leadership positions.
