How can we be a symbol of change? we can start a movement of change by practicing it within ourselves. Very cliché yet the most effective way to make significant changes by starting from ourselves and influencing larger communitues with the practices that we perform. We can start by being eco friendly to market places. Public markets are one of the places that produces large numbers of plastic wastes that will eventually end up in our marine area and many studies confirmed that plastic pollution is one of the leading environmental problem that is harming our ecosystem. With this, we can start by bringing bags that are non-disposable and can be use for more than a year. When buying meat, poultry, fish, or seafoods, we can actually use the an ice cream tube that can last long for how many years as long as we wash it properly. We can also bring a small pouch that contains metal spoon, fork, and straw in order to lessen the use of plastic utensils that are used especially by fast food chains. We are also advertising for practical and sustainable consumption of materials. According to Pigott (2018), there’s almost a total of 60% decline in the population of animals because lf mass consumption. We must learn on how to practically choose the things that we really need in order to save not only the environment where we get our sources from but also to save animals who also depends on our environment.
