ใบความร้ทู ี่ 1 ความหมายและโครงสรา้ งประโยค Past Continuous Tense Past Continuous Tense หรอื เรียกอกี อย่างว่า Past Progressive Tense ได้แก่ ประโยคอดตี กาลต่อเน่ือง หรอื เหตกุ ารณท์ ่ีกาลังเกิดข้นึ อยู่ ณ ช่วงเวลาใดเวลาหน่งึ ในอดตี ใน Past continuous tense จะมกี รยิ าช่วย คอื was และ were อยใู่ นประโยคเสมอ และกรยิ าแทท้ ่ีใช้ใน ประโยคจะตอ้ งเติม ing เสมอ คาแปล : กาลงั ........................, จะ.......... โครงสร้างประโยค Affirmative Sentence (ประโยคบอกเล่า) ประธาน + was / were + กรยิ าแท้เตมิ –ing ประโยคตัวอยา่ ง = ฉนั กาลังเดนิ I was walking. = เขากาลังเดนิ He was walking. = หลอ่ นกาลังเดิน She was walking. = พวกเรากาลังเดิน We were walking. = คุณกาลงั เดิน You were walking. = พวกเขากาลังเดนิ They were walking. Interrogative Sentence (ประโยคคาถาม) (Wh) Was / Were + ประธาน + กริยาแท้เตมิ –ing +? Yes/No question (ประโยคคาถามที่ต้องตอบวา่ ใช่หรือไมใ่ ช่) เช่น Was I writing? = ฉนั กาลงั เขียนใชไ่ หม? Were you writing? = คุณกาลังเขยี นใช่ไหม? Was he writing? = เขากาลงั เขียนใช่ไหม? Were they writing? = พวกเขากาลงั เขียนใช่ไหม? Short answer (คาตอบแบบสน้ั ) ตอบรบั Yes, he was. Yes, she was. ใบความรเู้ รือ่ ง การใช้ Past continuous tense เราสามารถใช้ Past continuous tense ในกรณีดังตอ่ ไปนี้ 1. ใช้แสดงอาการท่กี าลังเกิดขน้ึ อยู่ ณ เวลาใดเวลาหนง่ึ ท่รี ะบไุ ว้ในอดตี เช่น  At eight o’clock last night I was doing my homework. (ตอนสองท่มุ คนื ทแ่ี ลว้ ผมกาลงั ทาการบ้านอย่)ู  What was she doing at yesterday noon? (หล่อนกาลังทาอะไรอยู่ตอนเทีย่ งวนั ของเม่ือวาน) She was going to post office. (หล่อนกาลังไปท่ีทาการไปรษณีย)์ 2. ใชแ้ สดงถึงการกระทาท่ีตอ่ เน่อื งกนั ในอดีต เชน่  What were you doing all last summer? (เธอทาอะไรอยู่ตลอดฤดรู อ้ นทแ่ี ล้ว) I was enjoying myself at the seaside. (ผมร่ืนเรงิ กบั การเท่ียวทะเล)  What were you doing all yesterday morning? (เธอทาอะไรอย่ตู ลอดทัง้ เช้าของเมอ่ื วาน) I was cooking Thai food. (ฉันกาลงั ทาอาหารไทย) 3. ใช้กบั เหตุการณ์เกดิ 2 เหตุการณ์เกิดขนึ้ ไล่เล่ยี กนั โดยมีเหตกุ ารณ์หน่งึ เกิดขึ้นกอ่ น และมอี ีกเหตกุ ารณ์หนง่ึ เกดิ แทรกขน้ึ มา มีหลกั การใช้ คอื เหตกุ ารณ์ที่เกดิ ข้ึนก่อน ใหน้ ักเรียนใช้ Past Continuous สว่ นเหตุการณ์ที่เกิดแทรกขน้ึ มาทีหลัง ให้นกั เรยี นใช้ Past Simple (ใน ประโยคจะมคี าวา่ As (ขณะท)่ี , while (ขณะท)่ี และ when (ตอนท)ี่ เช่น  While (As) he was walking to Sa School this morning, he met his old friend. (ขณะท่เี ขากาลังเดินไปโรงเรยี นสาในตอนเช้าน,้ี เขาได้พบกบั เพือ่ นเกา่ ของเขา)  My friends came in my room while I was watching TV. ( เพือ่ นๆของผมเข้ามาในห้องของผม ในขณะท่ี ผมกาลังดทู ีว)ี  When my friends came in my room, I was watching TV. ( ตอนที่เพ่ือนๆของผมเขา้ มาในห้องของผม, ผมกาลงั ดทู วี )ี  My sister was crying when I arrived home. (น้องของผมกาลงั รอ้ งไห้ ตอนท่ีผมมาถงึ บ้าน) หมายเหตุ: 1. เราใช้ As, While ในประโยค past continuous, เราใช้ when ในประโยค past simple 2. ถ้าเราวาง When, As, หรือ While ไว้ต้นประโยค อย่าลืมเครอ่ื งหมาย , (คอมมา่ ) คนั่ ประโยคแรกด้วย 4. เหตุการณ์ 2 อยา่ งท่ีกาลงั เกิดขน้ึ พรอ้ มๆกนั ในอดตี ตอ้ งใช้ Past Continuous ทง้ั 2 เหตุการณ์ โดยมีคาวา่ while หรือ as เชื่อมประโยคทั้งสอง เช่น  I was reading a book while she was doing her homework. (ฉนั กาลังเล่นในขณะทเ่ี ธอกาลังเรียน)  My friends were playing football while her friends were playing tennis. (เพ่อื นๆของฉนั กาลงั เล่นฟตุ บอล ขณะที่ เพ่อื นๆของหล่อน กาลงั เลน่ เทนนิส) หมายเหตุ: ถา้ ประธานของประโยคกาลังทาอาการสองอยา่ งอยพู่ รอ้ มกัน เราใช้ and (และ) เชือ่ มกรยิ าทเ่ี ติม ing ได้โดยไมต่ ้องใช้ was / were เพิ่มอกี เช่น I was singing and dancing when my father came in my room. (ฉันกาลงั ทง้ั รอ้ งและเตน้ ตอนท่ีพอ่ ของฉนั เขา้ มาในหอ้ งของฉนั ) ข้อควรจา: เราไมใ่ ช้กรยิ า be ในรปู ของ Past continuous แตใ่ หใ้ ช้ในรปู ของ past simple แทน เช่น While he was there, he had a lot of money. (ขณะที่เขาอยู่ท่นี ัน่ , เขามเี งินมากๆ) Malee drank a lot of milk while she was seven years old.
