The matrix material is a thermoplastic that has a low Tg. It can remain soft even at room temperatures without leaking air when temperatures rise. The matrix material is made from polymethylmethacrylate, epoxy resin, or a liquid nitrile butadiene rubber. After the thermoplastic matrix material cures then the mandrel is removed.
