senior experience

I am so excited about your upcoming senior session with Casey W. Childers Photography and that you are officially one of my #cwcpseniors! As we approach your Senior Session, I will talk to you about many things including choosing your location{s}. Remember that you may have unlimited outfits to wear, however, all of the wardrobe changes and travel to multiple locations must fit within your session time frame. Once we determine our starting location, the fun begins! We will meet there approximately 15 minutes before we plan to start shooting so that I can help you finalize outfit choices! Please try your absolute best to arrive on time, if not a few minutes early. As a natural light photographer, your senior session is scheduled around early afternoon—about 2 hours before the sun sets. Once the sun is set, we can no longer shoot. Therefore, if you arrive to your session even 10- 15 minutes late, it will affect the amount of time that we can shoot and the length of your session! If you are more than 30 minutes late to your session, we will have to reschedule for my earliest available date (which is usually 1-2 months out!). Payment is due at the time that the session is held.

Stuck on what to wear? I’m here to help! Here are some of my favorite tips and tricks to help you guide your outfit choices! Choosing what you will wear for your photo shoot is a huge decision that can make or break your senior portrait session! I know that sounds dramatic… but, if you accidentally wear something that isn’t flattering on camera or something that you don’t feel confident in…it can ruin the experience for you! So, here are some of the best ways to choose what to wear. If you do not like fitted clothing (super tight dresses or pieces that fit awkwardly) then leave them at home! Personally, I try to steer clear of items that are fitted in the tummy area (don’t we all?) just because it makes me self-conscious and I’m constantly wonder- ing if it looks bad. So, if there are pieces in your closet that make you feel self-conscious or uncomfortable, don’t include them in your senior portrait wardrobe! Additionally, we will most likely be sitting on the ground, laying down, walking and doing other things that could be difficult if your clothing is uncomfortable! - On camera, solid black + white can make skin tones look very washed out and unflatter- ing. So, when choosing outfits for your senior session, try to choose colors that POP and that compliment your hair + skin colors! Primary colors like red, royal blue and yellow photograph beautifully as well as emerald green, bright purples, pinks, oranges and any other colors that really POP! Sometimes, color combos that may seem odd in-person end up photographing BEAUTIFULLY on camera!

In the cold months (fall + winter), adding layers to your outfits always looks STUN- NING in portraits! A sweater with a flannel underneath paired with a vest + state- ment necklace or scarf adds so much dimension to your images and makes for su- per fun posing options! Even in the warmer months (spring + summer) you can add these layers + dimension by wearing a tank top with a cute sheer cardigan or by throwing a denim vest over a dress! Guys, bring a nice blazer or suit jacket! Sometimes textures like sequins, furs and sparkles can be considered “daring” or “over the top” but, in portraits, they are the BEST! Adding texture to your outfit makes the biggest difference, and it prevents the images from looking dull! Combin- ing textures that you may not normally use together like sequins + cable knit sweat- ers or leather + fur make GREAT pairs! During a senior session, or any photo shoot, the more the merrier!! When planning your outfits, don’t forget to plan accessories!! Stacks of bangles, long necklaces, statement pieces, scarves, hats, bright shoes and other add-ons can make or break an outfit! When planning your outfits, make sure that you have a VARIETY of looks! I tell all of my seniors to choose from these categories: casual, cozy, dressy, school-related, sports-related, preppy or edgy. I always recommend choosing 2-3 of those catego- ries and finding outfits accordingly. This provides a beautiful array of looks during your senior portrait session, so each outfit looks dramatically different!

You know, the simple session just enough to say “ Just one image to and pop on those graduation announcements for friends and family! My mini sessions are $100, HOWEVER, if you book and pay for this at the time of your Senior Session, you will receive 25% off as MY congratulations! $100.00 $75.00

There are many locations I recommend in Wilson, however, it all boils down to your taste. Would you like leaves/foliage in your images? Do you like nice, clean lines of a cityscape? Are barns/fences and a rustic look your setting? Contact me and I am happy to recommend excellent locations. Many seniors enjoy bringing along something that speaks to who they are for an additional look in a session. For example, sheet music, an instrument, ballet shoes or books can all add a ‘look’ that shows who you are! - After our session {if you sign a model release}, you can immediately expect a sneak peek on social media. Following this, my editing turn around time of your images for proofing is guaran- teed within two weeks. I ask that you are patient and avoid ‘prodding’ to see if they are ready. Once they are ready, you will receive your edited images of my choice in a private online proofing gallery on my website {www.caseywchildersphotography.com} You will receive this by way of an email which is overwhelmingly detailed on everything that you need to know! From there, you will be able to choose your favorite images based upon your pack- age. What if you want more? That is absolutely possible. What if you want the en- tire gallery? Just fine, we can make it happen! Once I receive your decision, I will release of the images in high resolution format where you can download them as well as buy prints of archival quality from my website. Q: Are the images in the proofing gallery edited? A: Yes! I have done my basic toning/coloration and cropping on these images. When I receive the selected images of your choices, I will go in and do more slight tweaking (stray hairs, acne removal, etc.) I work in Lightroom and my editing in- cludes basic coloration, cropping and toning. Q: Will I receive images on a CD? A: I no longer provide CD’s as they are becoming more and more obsolete. My laptop doesn’t even have a CD drive! However, I am able to provide a USB/Thumb Drive of the selected images for $10 + tax.

Q: Will I be able to have these printed somewhere like Walgreens? A: Absolutely! Though, from my personal experience, their printing is not consistent with the vibrant colors provided by my photo lab, you will receive a print release that gives you permission to do this. You MUST have this at the time of pickup. I offer basic print packages that can be purchased from your gallery! At the bottom right of an image, there is a shopping cart icon. If you click this, there will be an op- tion, “Buy Print Package”. The best part is, MULTIPLE images are able to be cho- sen within the package. For example, the wallets come in sets of 8. If you choose a package with {16 wallets} you will be able to have two different images within your wallet set! Here are the following packages that may be purchased in addition to your session experience and digital files {shipping not included}. $44.85 $74.19 $110.75 {2} 8x10s {4} 8x10s {1} 16x20 {2} 5x7s {6} 5x7s {6} 8x10s {16} wallets {2} 4x6s {6} 5x7s {40} wallets {2} 4x6s {64} wallets I can’t wait to meet you and work with you! I pride myself in my work and hope to ensure that every senior is thrilled with their im- ages. My work and editing is very unique to my taste and I am thrilled that you have found yourself loving the same images that I do! Until then, rest, relax, and savor this senior journey! XOXO’s,
