HAIR & MAKEUP While professional hair and makeup isn't necessary by ANY means, it can make you feel like a million bucks on your session day! 2023 Senior Style Guide Casey W. Childers Photography

HAIR & MAKEUP ARTISTS While this is not necessary, I highly recommend working with a H&MU artist for your senior session! This takes SO MUCH off of your plate and allows for a pro to help get you ready for your photoshoot. If this is something you are interested in, I hope you consider it! I have many names I recommend and you may have some as well! 2023 Senior Style Guide Casey W. Childers Photography

WHAT TO WEAR Let's talk about outfit advice, styling, colors, where to shop, and more! 2023 Senior Style Guide Your Business Name

FOUR THINGS TO LOOK FOR GENERAL OUTFIT ADVICE 01 STYLE We recommend bringing a few outfits ranging from casual (comfortable, reflects your personality) to more formal (most of our seniors bring a dress and heels). Our standard suggestion is two formal outfits & one casual outfit. 02 COMFORT You should feel comfortable in your outfits! Wear what you feel most confident in. Also, keep in mind that we will be walking around, changing poses, going from sitting to standing (sometimes squatting and maybe some spinning too), so make sure your clothes are compatible with that kind of movement. 2023 Senior Style Guide Casey W. Childers Photography

FOUR THINGS TO LOOK FOR GENERAL OUTFIT ADVICE 03 COLORS Solid colors are always a safe bet, but that doesn’t mean you have to wear all white or black. In fact, all white clothing pieces can make you appear washed out, so I recommend colors that bring out your hair, eyes, or personality, with minimal patterns! Your outfits should consist of a variety of colors. Meaning, if your first outfit is a sage green dress, don’t wear a sage top in your next look. Also, remember to keep in mind how colors will compliment your skin tone! We do recommend staying away from red & super neon colors. If you’re unsure on colors, neutrals are always a good option! 04 LAYERS Layers can really bring a look together! Consider pairing a leather or denim jacket, a flannel, or a cardigan with one of your outfits, especially if you book a session closer to the end of the year. Be careful of clothes, especially dresses that may be sheer and/or transparent in bright light! It may reveal what you are wearing underneath! 2023 Senior Style Guide Casey W. Childers Photography

WHERE TO GET YOUR OUTFITS SHOPPING GUIDE Our first tip is to start by raiding your own closet! Of course, it’s perfectly okay (and fun!) to go shopping for this occasion, but you may already have the perfect shirt, polo or dress. Often, your favorite outfit is an amazing choice for one of your shoot outfit options. If nothing you already own is tugging at your attention, at least you’ve probably gotten a better idea of what you want to shop for! JEWELRY & ACCESORIES TIP NO. 1 Incorporating different jewelry and accessory combos is such a great call! Statement pieces like dangly earrings or big necklaces photograph super well. Also, if you are a ring person, try some with different color stones! We love a hat moment. Hats are a fantastic way to spruce up a shoot! Also TIP NO. 2 statement shoes (just remember, comfort is key) can make an outfit, along with a fun pair of sunglasses or a scarf (depending on when you get your photos taken). As far as watches, you may want to leave it at home. Unless it’s a fashion- TIP NO. 3 statement situation (then YES bring it), a watch (especially Apple watches) can distract from the rest of the ensemble, and can date your image looking back in years to come! But in the end, it is completely up to you! 2023 Senior Style Guide Casey W. Childers Photography

SHOES TIP NO. 1 Be comfortable! This is another element of your outfit where you definitely want TIP NO. 2 to keep comfort in mind. We will be walking quite a bit and we don’t want any pain in your feet to distract you from looking your best! Make sure to bring one pair of shoes you are comfortable sitting in. Make a statement! A statement shoe is a great way to show off your personality. Maybe that’s heels with a dress, or booties with cuffed jeans, whatever makes you feel special! Don't forget your toes! Remember that if you’re opting for open-toed shoes, get TIP NO. 3 your toenails painted, because we will see them. 2023 Senior Style Guide Casey W. Childers Photography

NAILS Your hands will be heavily featured in a lot of poses, so we want to make sure your nails are looking their best too! Try to keep your nails simple; muted solid colors, nudes, or whites are great options to bring some style into your photos, without drawing attention away from the focus, you! If you don’t want to paint them or pay for a manicure, stick-ons are never a bad idea. 2023 Senior Style Guide Casey W. Childers Photography

PROPS Want to add something to your session to make it unique? Again, none of this is necessary, but let's talk about props you can bring! 01 YOUR HOBBIES If there is something you really love, whether it be music, dancing, art, crafting, etc., and you want to incorporate it into your pictures, let us know! 02 SPORTS EQUIPMENT If you played a sport in high school, that’s a great accomplishment! Feel free to bring a ball, a jersey, or any other equipment unique to your sport. 03 COLLEGE MERCH If you know where you are going to college after you graduate, you can include items unique to the school! This can be a college t-shirt, a varsity jacket, a hat, a sign, etc. If the time isn't right or you aren't sure, I also hold Cap and Gown sessions in June when many seniors decide to showoff their college of choice! While the above are three specific ideas, there are so many options when it comes to other props! Your cap and gown, books, balloons, flowers… if it speaks to you and represents who you are as a graduating senior, bring it! 2023 Senior Style Guide Casey W. Childers Photography

THINGS TO REMEMBER & OTHER FAQ 2023 Senior Style Guide Casey W. Childers Photography

WHAT IF IT RAINS? Don’t panic! Believe it or not, we’ve dealt with rain before :). We build rain days/reschedule days into our schedule each month. If it is raining on the morning of your session, we will wait until a few hours before your scheduled session time to decide how to proceed. Often the sun gloriously emerges. If the weather does not improve, we will reschedule your session, no worries! ARRIVING TO YOUR SESSION Please arrive at your session at least five minutes before the start time. If you arrive later, your session time is not extended, and we want to make sure we get to utilize as MUCH time as possible! Just be sure to plan ahead and allow extra time for heavy traffic! HOW MANY OUTFITS CAN I HAVE? As many as you can put on! Changing outfits takes up session time, but it also add a lot of variety to a session. I have had a senior in a 30 minute Simple Session (1 location) change outfit THREE times! Her shooting time was less because of this (about 8 minutes per outfit), but she walked away with a lot of variety to choose from! 2023 Senior Style Guide Casey W. Childers Photography

HOW MANY LOCATIONS CAN I HAVE? It depends on the session. Travel time counts as time of your session. So say you have a 30 minute session and wish to have the Botanical Gardens and Downtown Wilson. You would only gain about 10 minutes of session time at the first location before we had to travel to the second location. So I highly suggest 1 location in the Simple Location, 1-2 locations for the Standard Collection, and 2-3 locations for the Signature Collection. WHERE CAN I CHANGE? Honestly, most seniors change in their car. If a parent is driving, most commonly, seniors will change en route to the second location. Some stay at one location and still change in their car! IF REQUESTED IN ADVANCE, I provide a pop-up tent that ensures privacy in very public locations. WHEN IS MY SENIOR PICTURE DUE? This depends on the school! For many schools (Hunt and Fike included), you have the option to provide an image for the yearbook. These are typically due the first week in November. Other schools have standardized images such as the black drape images that are required to be used, so there is no deadline. Others have standardized images, but allow seniors to have an 'ad page' in the yearbook. Check with your personal high school to know! 2023 Senior Style Guide Casey W. Childers Photography

WHEN WILL I RECEIVE MY IMAGES? For my seniors, I always share a sneak peek on Instagram within 2-3 days of the session. From there, I will have your proofing gallery within 14 days. Pending on your collection, you will then be able to select the number of images which will then be delivered back to you within 2-3 days. IF I WANT MORE IMAGES, WHAT HAPPENS? You can purchase more! It is easy and everything will be outlined in clear communication following your session! CAN I ORDER PRINTS OR ALBUMS? YES! While you will receive high resolution digital files and have a release to print anywhere, I can't stress enough how important it is to print! I offer signature prints, wallets and albums. The signature albums are timeless and offered in both leather and linen covers. 2023 Senior Style Guide Casey W. Childers Photography

WHAT TO BRING DAY OF CHECKLIST Water Extra makeup, hair spray, frizz cream, etc. to stay touched up throughout the shoot. All your jewelry options if you want to switch it up per outfit. A parent or friend! Not only will they help with the nerves, but they can help you during outfit and look changes! Any props you want to use All your outfits + shoes + accessories 2023 Senior Style Guide Casey W. Childers Photography

FINAL WORDS I hope this senior style guide has answered your questions and calmed any nerves you may have about your shoot day. After all, this is going to be a FUN and EXCITING experience!! I can’t wait for us to get together and take some amazing photos. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or concerns that were not answered here. 2023 Senior Style Guide Casey W.
