SUSTAIN-A-BALLThis year, in the true 60s spirit inspired by Carson’s ‘SilentSpring’ and the rise of the environmental movement, we haveworked tirelessly to make Emma June Event 2018 our greenestball yet!Having our first Sustainability Officer on commitee marks alandmark shift in the May Ball mentality, and we’ll be workingtowards acheiving Silver in the CUECS accreditation scheme toprove it.Our mentality: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle has been our mantrafrom day one; from co-sourcing what we can with other balls,to reducing transport emissions through streamlined delivery,using local contractors, having lower energy entertainment,making our own decorations or repurposing charity shop finds,and recycling everything we can!Supporting Cool Earth: £1 of your ticket will go towards CoolEarth, supporting their work in combatting deforestation andclimate changePlease help us to protect the planet and separate your rubbishinto recycling bins you can find around the Event!

GENERAL INFORMATIONIn case of an emergency:Contact the nearest committee member or go to the Porter’s Lodge.Smoking:Smoking is prohibited throughout the Event except in the designatedsmoking area at the far end of the Paddock (Good Vibrations)Cloakroom:There is a free cloakroom in Upper Hall, up the stairs in the corner ofFront Court (Waterloo Sunset), all night.Lost Property:Please take any lost property to the Porter’s Lodge, where it can becollected.Food Allergies:Sufferers should be aware that food items might contain nuts orother allergenic substances. Please inform caterers of any allergiesyou have before consuming food, as the Committee will not be heldresponsible for any allergic reaction suffered during the Event.Drinks:All bars will serve virgin cocktails and/or soft drinks. Bottled waterwill also be located throughout the Ball. Please stay hydrated! Inorder to minimise wasted plastics, bars will only serve drinks with astraw if asked, we ask our guests to try to minimise use of multiplestraws throughout the night where possible.

Security:On entry to the Event you will be given a security wristband, pleaseensure these are visible at all times. Regular checks will take placethroughout the evening, and any guest without an authentic wrist-band will be removed from the Event.Guests may leave the Event at any time via the Porter’s Lodgethroughout the night, but wristbands will be removed upon exit andre-entry is not permitted. Any guest that is disruptive or destructive,or found in possession of illegal substances, will be evicted. Helping aperson gain unauthorised entry will result in removal from the Event.First Aid:In the event of an accident, St. John’s Ambulance is present all nightin the Sick Bay between Front Court (Waterloo Sunset) and the OldLibrary (Casino Royale) or alert a member of the Committee.Fire Safety:We urge all our guests to be aware of the ever-present risk of fire atthe Ball. If a steward tells you that a marquee or a room has reachedits fire safety capacity, please respect the safety of other guests andrefrain from entering the area until it is less full.The Committee regrets that it cannot accept responsibility for theloss or damage of personal property brought into the Event. TheCommittee accepts no liability for personal injury or loss incurred byguests through their own negligence. All items in the programmeare correct at the time of going to press. The Committee reserves theright to refuse entry and to terminate attendance at any time, to alterthis programme without notification, and to act as it deemsnecessary in the interests of safety and security.
