INTRODUCTORY MESSAGE Welcome to Science-Grade 6! The Learning Activity Sheet is self-directed instructional material aimed to guide the learners in accomplishing activities at their own pace and time using the contextualized resources in the community. This will also assist the learners in acquiring lifelong learning skills, knowledge, and attitudes for productivity and employment. For the learning facilitator: The Electronic Learning Activity Sheet in Science helps you facilitate the teaching-learning activities specified in Most Essential Learning Competency (MELC). This will be made available to the learners who are at-risk in Science subjects from Grade 3 to 6 identified learners who are part of the project E- LAS and Gamified App together with Project PRISE. For the learner: The Electronic Learning Activity Sheet in Science is developed to help you continue learning. This learning material provides you with meaningful and engaging activities for independent learning. Being an active learner, carefully read and understand the instructions then perform the activities and answer the assessments. This will be checked by your facilitator on the agreed schedule. Gamified app of activities was also provided to help you go through the lesson. Enjoy learning!
Science Activity Sheet No. 1 Title: HOMOGENEOUS MIXTURE I. Learning Competency Describe the appearance and uses of uniform and non-uniform mixtures. (S6MT-Ia-c-1). II. Background Information for Learners A homogeneous mixture is a mixture that contains only one phase and has a uniform appearance. It is often known as a solution. A solution is made up of two parts: the solute and the solvent. The solute is the one that is being dissolved in the smallest amount. The solvent is the dissolving medium and usually contains the most substance in a solution. Water is referred to as the universal solvent. The dissolving process typically creates this kind of mixture. If the solid solute entirely dissolves in the liquid solvent, we say the substance is soluble. Solid elements are referred to as insoluble if they do not entirely dissolve in the solution. When this occurs, the liquids are referred to as either miscible or immiscible. III. Activity Proper Activity 1: Think and Do Put a before the number if the given example is a homogeneous mixture and an if not. ___ 1. hot coffee ___ 4. sea water ___ 2. fruit salad ___ 5. vinegar ___ 3. halo-halo
Activity 2: Dig Out and Enrich Modified True or False. Write True if the statement is correct. If the statement is incorrect, write False then underline the incorrect word to make the statement true. ____________ 1.Salt when added to water can form a liquid homogeneous mixture. ____________ 2.A homogeneous mixture has components that blend throughout. ____________ 3.Homogeneous mixtures can only be in liquid form. ____________ 4.Coffee and other powder is best mix with hot water to dissolve faster. ____________ 5.Components in a homogeneous mixture cannot be recognized after they are mixed together Activity 3: Apply What You know The following materials can be used to mix with a liquid to form a homogeneous mixture. Check other characteristics that they have to prove that a homogeneous is formed. MATERIALS MIX BEST WITH CAN CHANGE PARTICLES THE COLOR OF BLEND THE MIXTURE THROUGHOUT COLD HOT WATER WATER EXAMPLE: bag of tea sugar salt food color coffee powder powdered juice
IV. REFLECTION In this activity, learners were able to describe the appearance and uses of a homogeneous mixture. With the help of this learning activity sheet, learners will have the knowledge and be able to prepare beneficial and useful mixtures like drinks, food, and herbal medicines. V.
