PAGE 2On each template, the larger labeled layer number will overlap the previous layer number. For example: 2 overlaps 1 -- 3 overlaps 2 -- 4 overlaps 3, etc.Start by taking the left edge of layer 2 and overlap and align on the solid marked line on layer 1.Using clear scotch tape, tape these two layers together. If your template has more than 2 layers, you may repeat this process. Overlaping layer 4 onto layer 3,layer 6 onto 5, etc.As shown in this example with 4 layers, layer 3 & 4 will then overlap layer 1 & 2.
PAGE 3Your taped template should result in all pages aligned. You may cut any extra paper off from the template.Place the template centered on the board and tape the template to the board.
PAGE 4You may now begin nailing to the board through the paper.3/4” wire nails are recommended for stringing. These can be found at most all hardware stores. It is also recommended to nail at least 1/2 of the nail intoyour board for secure stringing. After the pattern has been nailed, you may rip away the template from the board. A tweezers maybe helpful for small pieces of paper that did not out.
PAGE 5You may now start stringing by tying multiple knots around your first nail to ensure a solid startingpoint. After you may trim the excess string that will not be used from the knot.Begin stringing in a random zig-zag pattern. Continue stringing using this pattern to begin tofill the entire piece. Try to zig-zag in all directions reaching each nail. Continue this process untilyou reach your desired amount of “ fill ”. Some may prefer to see wood through the pattern, someprefer a fully filled piece. When you are finished, use the same knot tie off method at any nail to finalize your stringingand trim the excess string. Be sure NOT to cut any of the other strings on the board!! 6 14 5 7 8 9 313.... 112 10 12
