NEWS NECHES GO BRANCH We are happy to announce the opening of our new Neches Go Branch at 4821 North Twin City in Port Arthur (next to Casa Ole’). This state- of-the-art new location is called a ‘Go’ branch because it’s main purpose is to serve our members quickly through use of our three Interactive Teller Machines (ITM). An ITM is different from an ATM because you are able to speak and do business with a live person. It looks a lot like an ATM but offers additional functionality including the ability to have a one-on-one conversation with your teller via a touch screen monitor. At the Neches Go ITMs, during standard business hours, you will have the ability to deposit cash or checks, make cash withdrawals, transfer money, pay a loan, or ask account questions. Also, the ITM functions as a full-service ATM during hours that the credit union is not open. If you’re in the Port Arthur/Groves area feel free to give our Neches Go location a try. NEWS He was appointed to the supervisory committee of Neches Federal Credit Union in l970. In typical John DeVillier SERVICE MEMORANDUM fashion, he took the assignment to heart. Decision-making with colleagues was vital, but he always sprinkled business John Earl DeVillier with cheer and good will for 50 years. John Earl DeVillier peacefully passed away Sunday, March 15, 2020, at the desk of his Capitol Blvd. home in Groves, a month short of his 91st birthday. “I will always be grateful for John. While attending Lamar Junior College he began his newspaper career at the Beaumont Enterprise at the age of 18. Two years later in 1956 he was lured to the Port Arthur News by sports editor Dick Oliver. Most of his chronicling of area high school and college sports over the next 33 years was done on moonlighting hours while simultaneously working at Huntsman Chemical. He started at the Highway 366 facility, then known as Jeff Chem, as a labor hand. He served a two-year stint in the U.S. Army, including an assignment to a Signal Corps company in Germany. Upon returning to the plant, John worked as a lab technician before being promoted to shift supervisor. John’s final 20 years at Huntsman was as Employee Benefits Supervisor in Human Resources.
