ACHIEVEMENTS NANDITA SHARMA “If you want something from your heart, then the whole universe tries to make it happen to you.” Hi Readers! This is Cristina with an as- tounding interview with an Air Hostess. Yes, the sweet-talking, always kind, air hostess who work in planes. I have al- ways commended them on their patience because I don’t have much on a good day. So, let’s take a look behind the scenes and find out how they feel. This is Nandita After which she skipped to the airline’s profession with Sharma, who is TATA Airlines. She’s been with them since. Let’s start!. 25-years-old and an experienced Why did you choose this field? What inspired you? air hostess. She started her ca- It started with my colleagues in college. Afterwards, I decided to go in this line and once started, this is not something you stop. This is a very lovely profession. In college, they interviewed us and selected us and told us this will be our last round. Said they will call us after college, so after 3- 4 months. So, we waited and when finally, the day come, we were told this was not our last round but will be our first round. That time we were only shortlisted. So, we gave the interview again and were rejected completely. We were sent back and we were all heartbroken. After that, I got the job at Oberoi. A year later, came my chance in the form of TATA airlines and was selected. That was the happiest day of my life. GLOBAL ACHIEVERS MAGAZINE SEPTEMBER, 2021 | 3
What kinds of problems did you face SEPTEMBER, 2021 | 4 in this profession? Truthfully, an air hostess problem starts with passengers and ends with passengers. This job might look glam- orous but is not easy. They are bene- fits as we get to travel a lot and stuff but we also underwent many trials and only after passing them did we earned our positions. We had assess- ment tests, many different kinds of exam, our etiquette, etc. There is also the stuff with passengers – some re- fused to wear mask or were shouting – so we cannot show our anger or tears, we must be calm and handle the situations. That is very hard. Can you give us an example of one of these situations? Yeah. Okay! So, it was my Patna flight only, so what happened was, a pas- senger came to me and was very an- noying. He wanted to know my name, “what’s your name?”, “what’s your name?” because these days we have to wear these CVs, it doesn’t mention our names. So, he wanted to know my name so he can send me friend re- quests or something. GLOBAL ACHIEVERS MAGAZINE
So, I told him, “My name is Nandita”, then he asked where I am from but he denied him as this is my personal information. Afterwards, his son, about 20- 21 years old son, came to me and said, “don’t mind, mere dad bhut therki hai.” And I just wanted to punch him in his face but I couldn’t. That was the weirdest incident that ever happened to me. Did you ever get any appreciations for your work? Yes! Yes, we do! We get appreciation letters that passengers write to us. It’s an open procedure that any passenger can follow and we read the letters and feel so happy that we did something extraordi- nary for them. One time, I was working in economy, and there are additional procedures. So, I was passing by when a passenger gave me a tissue, on it he drew an air hostess with flag. That really made me laugh. To me, they are much more precious than any award could be. GLOBAL ACHIEVERS MAGAZINE SEPTEMBER, 2021 | 5
Do you have any future plans? Not really… I was thinking of starting my own business 2-3 year after I get married because this job is not easy with a fam- ily. Responsibilities will change, etc. What is message you want to convey to society? That’ll be, ‘Don’t Be Cruel To Animals’. I am nature-loving person and I have noticed that people are often cruel to ani- mals. They would sweet to dogs or cats but when a cow or pig went near them, they often get violent. So, that is my message to all, just be kind be animals, feed them. GLOBAL ACHIEVERS MAGAZINE Scripted By : Cristina Waterflowers SEPTEMBER, 2021 | 6

She is Dr. Nalli Ramya, an otorhinolaryn- gologist and Head and Neck surgeon (JIPMER), CEO/Founder of RAMICOS cosmetics, also the author of ‘Broken Pendant’. Whenever I had any downtime, I read any classics I could get my hands on, such as – William Shake- speare, Robert Collison, etc. Afterwards, I wrote the fiction book, “Broken Pendant”. It also available on Amazon as well. How did you come into Motivational Speaking? There are certain situations in my life when I have found a need to understand. Such as, empowerment. What is empow- erment? I never understood the meaning. To me, empowerment should be changed into human entrepreneurship because, freedom can only truly be achieved when one is financially free. I noticed that women are dependent on men for finance, to bring the food the table, so to speak. But this situation puts a lot of pressure on that person, and if something happens to that person, the whole family suffers, es- pecially during COVID. So, to prevent this, women should also be employed and must feel financially free. If you see the statistics, you will notice that they are about 48% of women are equal to men in India, but out of 100%, only 20% are en- trepreneurs. So, I started doing motiva- tional speaking regarding this issue to spread awareness. GLOBAL ACHIEVERS MAGAZINE september , 2021 | 24

Are you satisfied with all that you have achieved? What are your future plans No, I am not satisfied my achievements quite yet. I still want to achieve more and more. I am improving myself day by day as a person, to be happy and healthy as self-love is most important. But I still want to achieve more things in my life. Being a doctor, I have to manage my time carefully and in two months’ time RAMICOS will be launching a new product. Apart from this, I also want to do health programs in the future, as mental health issues are the main obstacle between someone and their achievements. After COVID, there is a 20% rise in mental health issues which is not a small amount when you take in, we are talking about billions of people. That’s it for now, if I have an- other idea, I will also add it to my to-do list. What is your Success Mantra? If you believe in yourself, other will believe in you and you will be able to do whatever you want in your life. I really believe in this. If you don’t believe in your- self no one will believe in you. And once you’ll start believing in yourself, everything will fall into place. So, believe in your- self even if you are surrounded by negativity, especially then. I wish her luck to keep moving forward and to keep inspiring peo- ple. Kalyan Singh POLITICS “The life of Kalyan Singh, BJP's OBC icon and its first chief minister in UP” Kalyan Singh was the chief minister when the 16th century Babri mosque was demolished in Ayodhya on De- cember 6, 1992. He said Singh delivered a crime-free and people- centric government that also took big steps in the field of education. GLOBAL ACHIEVERS MAGAZINE september , 2021 | 27
President Ram Nath Kovind said Singh \"had a magical connect with masses\". \"As chief minister of UP, he determinedly pursued clean politics and purged governance of criminals and corruption,\" he said on Twitter. Uttar Pradesh announced a three-day mourning and a holiday on Monday, when Singh's last rites will be performed. His body will be taken to his home and then to the Vidhan Sabha, where people will pay their tributes. Born on January 5, 1932, Singh first became a legislator in 1967. He was then a member of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh, the political predecessor of the BJP. Singh, an Other Backward Classes (OBC) leader from western Uttar Pradesh, pro- pelled the BJP's rise in the politically crucial state. And the BJP -- often associated with the upper castes by its rivals -- saw in him its answer to the caste-based politics in the 1980s and 1990s. Singh is seen as the strategist who rallied non-Yadav OBCs be- hind the BJP in a so- cial engi- neering success -- which the party has built on over the years to reap elec- toral bene- fits. GLOBAL ACHIEVERS MAGAZINE september, 2021 | 28
He was appointed twice as the chief minister. And twice he quit the BJP, but returned on both occasions to the party that made him the politician and ad- ministrator he was. It was in 1991 that he became the first CM of a BJP gov- ernment in Uttar Pradesh. In December 1992, the Babri Masjid was demolished as the campaign to build the temple at the disputed site picked momentum. As the chief minister, Singh had filed an affidavit in the Supreme Court, assuring that the mosque will be protected. But he had also ordered police not to open fire at protesters, arguing later that any such action would have led to much bloodshed. Admitting failure to protect the mosque, he re- signed the same evening. The state assembly was dissolved as riots erupted at several places in the country. In the next assembly elections in November 1993, he contested from two seats -- Atrauli and Kasganj -- and won both. Though the BJP emerged as the single-largest party, a coalition government of the Samajwadi Party (SP)-Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) came to power. Singh was leader of the opposition in the UP assembly. He got his second shot at the top post in September 1997, becoming CM again under a six-month rota- tion formula with the BSP -- after elections in the previous year. The arrangement collapsed soon with the BSP withdrawing support. But, backed by a group of disgruntled opposition members, his gov- ernment survived. Singh was removed from the CM’s post by the party high command in November 1999. Later, he was also formally expelled from the party over remarks targeting the party’s top leadership. GLOBAL ACHIEVERS MAGAZINE september 2021 | 29
He left the party after a tumultuous phase -- only to return in 2004 before the gen- eral elections. Singh had once said it was a “political blunder” to have rejoined the BJP. Then, his second parting came 2009, ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, when he said he felt “humiliated” by the party and complained that he had hardly any say in the selection of candidates in his state. In 2010, he also floated the Jan Kranti Party, but let his son head it – till it “merged” with the BJP. Soon after his Raj Bhavan term ended in 2019, Singh formally rejoined the BJP as a primary member. As the Babri Masjid demolition case trial dragged on, Singh enjoyed immunity from trial as he held a gubernatorial post. After demitting office as Rajasthan governor, he appeared before the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court, which acquitted him and 31 others accused of conspir- acy in the demolition of the mosque in September 2020. The judge concluded that there was no evidence to show that the demolition was pre-planned. “Maybe it was destined that the structure would be demolished with me as chief minister,” he told a newspaper ahead of the 2020 “bhoomi pujan” for the Ram temple, now being built at the once disputed site in Ayodhya after a historic Supreme Court verdict. “Had there been no demolition, probably the courts too would have ordered status quo,” he said then. And his last wish, he said, was to live till the temple comes up. In view of the work of Shri Kalyan Singh ji in In- dian politics, while appreciating his social work, Director of Art Productions RJ Arti Malhotra and Dr. Tilak Tanwar have requested the Government of India to confer the 2022 Padma Award on Shri Kalyan Singh ji. And has also filed a nom- ination for his Padma Samman 2022. Scripted By : Sakshi Singhal GLOBAL ACHIEVERS MAGAZINE september, 2021 | 30
