essaYs The Brahman Journal whY I show Congratulations Brahman CaTTle by Sarah Felix to our People often ask me why I show Brahman cattle. Of course, Essay there is the obvious reason, my Pawpaw raises them, so I show them. But, there is really much more to the reason why I show them. I love them. They are my friends. Brahman cattle are great to show because they don’t require contest a lot of extra work to get them ready to go in the ring. Their short hair makes for easy grooming and washing. They don’t get overheated like other breeds, so they don’t have to have fans on them like say a shorthorn would. The main reason that I show Brahman cattle is because I am winners very shy and I don’t have a lot of friends. My Mom and dad got divorced when I was two years old. I haven’t seen or heard from my dad in nine years. My Mom said that from that point on I stayed to myself. As a very little girl I would go off by myself and no one could find me. I would disappear and spend time with my animals. I think that is when I began my bond with my cattle. I felt needed, JunIor DIvIsIon wanted and loved. I guess they filled up my empty feeling in my 1 - Sarah Felix heart that neither my Mom, nor my grandparents could fill. They st 2 - Gordie Simon accept me. I had gone to the Beaumont show, and they were showing two of my Pawpaw’s by Ali Simon cows. They let me and my sister go in the ring with them. I felt proud to be able to go into the show ring, and I was humbled to be able to stand in the ring and assist them in their showing.
