Picture Perfect Memory Jessica
My Everyday Life (905) 921-9996, (416) 543-2547, (416) 777-3697, (905) 136-4776, (905)546-5463, I only looked at them once. Hi my name is Jessica Walter. I am 10years old. I have dark brown hair, and dark blue eyes. I have an older brothernamed Justin Walter. He’s 12 years old. My mom’s name is Elizabeth Walter, and my dad’s name is Derek Walter. I really enjoy drawing, and painting. I havelots of paintings in my room and many sketchbooks filled with my drawings. I'msort of special in a way, because I have a photographic memory. That meansthat if I see something I can memorize it instantly. Well, it really doesn't matter, because I can't really do anything with it. It doesn't help so much in my daily life. My Farm I live in a farm. My family owns seven farms. Life is very hard now.Recently it has gone from bad to horrible. That's because a famine started tospread two months ago. I don't know how, but it just started. Everything has beenvery dry since last week. We can't grow crops anymore, I know that animals arestarting to die. We're trying to grow crops inside, but it is very difficult, andunsuccessful. Before the famine came we were able to sell some food, crops, clothesand animals. On Mondays we used to sell food and on Tuesdays we used to sellcrops. On Wednesdays we used to sell clothing while on Thursdays we used tosell Animals. On Fridays we used to sell whatever we wanted, or whatever wecould. Lastly on the weekends, we used to collect as much resources as wecould and harvesting. The Day I liked best was Wednesday. That was because Ireally like to knit and make clothes. My dad used to work the hardest. Nothing is easy. Some of the money we used to make was used just to buynew tools. And I have to say the shops were very expensive. Well, now the routine got changed. Now we don't sell food. We work twiceas hard as we used to. That's because we have to go to the shop to get food. Weget money by selling everything else.
Education I don’t even go to school. Well, that’s because my parents can't afford tosend me and my brother to school. The biggest problem of not going to school is that 5 people from thegovernment go around and ask others for some questions from the grade theirsuppose to be in. If someone doesn't know the answer, they are given 5 to 10days to learn as much as they are supposed to know according to their grade. But if they don’t learn enough in that time limit, then that person is executed or ifthey are lucky enough they are locked away or put in a far away country that isnot too rich or too poor. They do that because if people don’t learn then theywon’t be able to get jobs, and if that happens then this city will eventually becomepoor. I'm just glad, that’s because they test kids who are 14 as above so me andmy brother are lucky, because we are not 14 or above, but that's just for now. Intwo years my brother will turn 14, and in four years I will turn 14. Before then weneed to learn as much as we are supposed to know. Well, till I was 8 years old, my mom used to homeschool me. So thatmeans that I know everything till gray 3, and a little more. Going To The Shop “Hey, Jessica get up, get ready, we need to go to the shop.” Justin yelledfrom down stairs. “Coming” I don't know why I feel so tired today. I don't even want to get up. I slept soearly yesterday... What should I wear?... Okay got it. Great, i'm the last one to getready. Everyone is waiting for me on the door. I feel so special!
We're going to the city to get food. We have about $853, including oursavings. Last, last week we were robbed. Well, we're going to spend $100 onfood, wait,“Hey, don’t we need to get yarn too” “No , we still have two full packs of yarn, that could last us about one fullweek.” Justin replied right away. “Oh sorry, I meant to say thread. It’s its almost done.” I quickly correctedmyself. I don't know why I always get myself mixed up between yarn and thread. The difference is pretty clear. Well, the first time I got mixed up was when I was 7years old. The shop is pretty far from our house. We don't have a car or anything, sowe have to walk to wherever we need to go. Mostly we stay in our land but everyweekend we go out to the shops. “Hey Jessica, do we have enough seeds for the wheat.” My brotherwhispered to me very quickly. “I’m pretty sure that we have enough for about one more week.” Well atleast I think we have enough. My legs are sore, they hurt so, so much. We have been walking for about15 minutes. Well at least we have finally arrived at the shop. “One pack of thread, please, one pack of seeds, five apples and fiveplums.” My dad asked the shop owner. “Oh, I'm sorry sir, but we don't have any fruits. They just finished. The nextpatch was delayed because of the draught.” The shop owner of replied. He looksvery tired. He looks exhausted. And he actually seemed very sorry, usually whenhe would say sorry he looked like he didn't mean it, but this time he seemeddifferent. I think my dad is thinking the same thing, because I could tell from hisface. My Favorite Mountain Oh, I hate this, my legs hurt again, we finally are back home now.
“Hey Jessica, dad said that he is going back to the city. He wants to talk tothe shop owner.” My brother started talking out of nowhere. “But why?” “I don’t know, he didn’t tell me anything. He just said that he is leaving andthen left right away. “What is the shop owners name anyway?” “Jonsen Miller” “Ok, thanks...I’m going outside” “Ok” When I want to think or want some time alone or just want to do nothing, Ilike to go on the mountain behind our farms. We call it the “monitor hill”, becausefrom up there we could see everything, every single detail. My dad built a smallhot at the top of the hill mainly because sometimes we get alerts or warnings ifsomething dangerous happened in the city. Anyway, I don't get the reason why my dad would go, and he went allalone. He could of At least took me or my brother, or even both of us. My momdoesn't really like going out to the city at all. Derek Walter Talking to the shop owner I should of told everyone before I left, but it doesn’t really matter. I’m justgoing to talk to Jonsen Miller, it’s no big deal. “ Hey Jonsen Mille, whats up?” “Not much, how are you?” “I’m fine” “Do you need anything?” “No, I just came to ask you if everything is ok, you looked very worried, so ithought of meeting you.” “Oh, don’t worry about me, i’m perfectly fine.” “Ok then.”
“Well I saw you guys going home so I got a little worried because of thefamine that came.” “Well it’s ok you know, everything is fine, you don’t need to worry” “I overheard your daughter talking about school, and she said that youguys don’t go to school. You do know about the school check up?” “Oh, yes I do, we’ve been saving money for I could put them in school” “I had an idea for you. I heard about an art competition that was going tohappen next month. Who ever wins the competition will earn 1 million dollars.” “Wow, thats a lot of money.” “I know right, the reason the winner will get that much money is because allthe best artists from around the world will come.” “What do you have to do to win the competition?” “You have to look at a picture for 5 to 10 seconds and then draw thepicture.” “Great, that's perfect for my daughter, she has a photographic memory. Soit will be even easier for her.” “Good, thats perfect. Oh and one of the things i would tell you to tell yourdaughter is to practice her painting. “Ok i’ll tell her that, but their is just one problem, where am I going to get aride from?” “Yes, about that, I could take you there. “That‘s perfect” “Ok then, I need to go, so see you later” “Ok bye, thanks for telling me that” Back Home “Jessica I have good news for you, well actually for everyone, but it alldepends on you, if you could do it or not.” “What is it dad. What's the good news.” Jessica seemed very excited tohear that there was good news. “Jonsen told me that there is an art competition going to happen nextmonth. The winner will earn 1 million dollars. To win you have to look at a picturefor 5 to 10 seconds and then you have to draw it.” “Amazing, i’d love to do it.” I really hope she is able to win the competition.
Jessica Walter Practice “Hey Jessica wake up. Let’s go to the top of the hill, I could try to help youget better at painting” my brother yelled from downstairs. “Ok coming.” “Hurry up.” My brother yield again. “Now draw!” My brother commandedme. *-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-* O ne Month Later -*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-* “Jessica, Jessica wake up the competition is today” My brother yelled atmy face. “Uuuh, oh my god, you could also wake me up calmly, you almost gave mea heart attack!” Oh, i’m so soo sooo scared, I feel like i'm going to fail the competition. I'mso nervous. “Hey everyone, Jonsen said that he will take us.” My dad told us. “Really, when is he going to come?” My brother asked. My mom stayed quiet. I don’t know why, but she was happy and exited. “Hey Justin, do you want to come outside with me? I want to practice onemore time before we go.” “Sure, i’d be happy to come, you better win!” Okay, let's do this. There are seven farms all around our house. The barnis beside the house it is in the middle of the hole place. And...ya. “This good enough Justin. Is my painting good enough?” “Yes that's perfect. Ok, from my view I think your ready, really ready!” “Thanks for the encouragement!” “Jessica, Justin, come get ready, Jonsen is almost hear.” My dad told us. “Ok coming dad!” I replied.
I quickly went inside and got ready, and then went down stairs and waited. He came after about 10 minutes. “Are you ready, 100% ready?” My dad whispered to me while we were inthe car. “I think, I hope!” “We’re here, let’s go” Justen destroyed the silence. “This is it Jessica, the art competition!” My mom finally talked. “Go in Jessica, we’ll be staying outside and watching.” My dad told me. “Ok, bye Mom, bye Dad, bye Justin, thanks for the ride Jonsen” Ok calm down Jessica, you could do it, this is it. “All participants, go on the stage” This random person told us. As soon as all the participant entered, the crowd screamed, and I got evenmore nervous. “All participant, you may look at the picture for 8 seconds. 8... 7... 6... 5...4... 3... 2... 1 ... remove the picture. Now, paint what you saw.” The controller ofthe competition said on the super loud mike. Okay, okay, okay there are only 15 to 20, I better do this quickly. So, therewere 7 trees... 11 houses... 4 mountains... 19 people on the right... 9 people onthe left... 23 cars... 2 roads going horizontal... 3 roads going vertical... 3 roadsgoing diagonal… 15 pink flowers… 19 blue flowers… 13 purple flowers… 20 redflowers… 1 farm… 1 barn… 3 cloud... and, ya I think that was all. “2 minutes left everyone.” The man called out. Wait I think were 8 trees instead of only 7. “All painters you sell now step away from your cavases, please.” I hope I won! *-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-1 0 Minutes Later - *-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-* “Now for the moment everyone has been waiting for, the places. Startingwith 3rd place, Alex. Second place is jack, and 1st place is Jessica” “Yes I won, I won!”
I went to the stage got my meddle and my 1 million dollar prize and went tomy family. Everyone was super happy. I couldn’t believe that I won. First Day of School I'm so excited, but also nervous. I've never been to school. “Jessica principal mr. Derek, he will be taking you to your class” “Hey Jessica, nice to meet you. First of all, since it's recess I will be takingyou to your classmates, you're going to be telling you about the school and showyou your way around the school.” The principal started talking, “Your class is onthe second floor, it is the first class on that floor… hear it is. Enyoy” “Hey Jessica, welcom to school, we hope you have a great time and enjoy. We’ll be talking you around. First, to start of, everyone says that I am a verycrazy friend. If that’s okay with you.” “ yes that’s fine with me.”
