From the Principal’s desk…… Dear children As the war against the pandemic continues, it’s a time to retrospect all that happened in the virtual School during the academic year 2020-21. The pandemic crisis could not dissuade us from celebrating life. I feel extremely glad on releasing the second edition of e-magazine of our school. This magazine is nothing but encapsulation and reflection of your skills and talent, your hard work and achievements. The reports about your triumphs in intra and inter school competitions, the umpteen webinars attended by you, the enthusiastic celebrations on different occasions leave us simply spell bound. We are amazed to know that how our dear children are richly endowed with enormous capacity to do wonders. I am proud that I am heading an institution where every student gets an equal opportunity to learn, explore, question and achieve. We at DAVCPS create a vibrant world of learning and the stupendous board results bear testimony to it. We not only provide rigorous learning environment but also foster positive spirit and believe in strong bonding and partnership among students, parents, teachers and support staff. Our aim is to strive for excellence by preparing you all for learning beyond your school years and groom you to be confident, articulate and enlightened individuals. Webinar on Winning Over Mental Health Issues Mental health is one of the most neglected areas of public health. Yet, relatively few people around the world have access to quality mental health services. To encourage our students and parents the Interact Club of our school, in collaboration with the Interact Club of JP International School, Greater Noida and our parent club, Rotary Club of New Delhi One, organized a webinar focusing on the mental health issues. Rtn. Naman Jain, District Interact Chair, RI DIST 3012 graced the event as the Chief Guest. The renowned Clinical Psychologist of Max Super Specialty Hospital, Dr. Ashima Srivastava and Life Coach Dr. Neena Gulabani shared their knowledge & explained about different techniques to deal with the various mental health issues. The cherry on the cake was our student Interactor Kalika Bhardwaj of class XI A, the master of ceremony, who hosted the event beautifully. Such events prove to be useful to strive and make one’s mental health a priority every day. HINDI DIWAS Hindi Diwas is celebrated on September 14 every year to celebrate the language and to observe the event when it was adopted as one of the official languages of India. The students of our school celebrated the day by preparing beautiful posters, reciting famous poems, by celebrated poets, attending story recitation events and enjoying various other class activities. Hindi language is one of the oldest languages and we at DAV pride ourselves by doing our bit in making our students learn and enjoy it better. INTERACT CLUB ACTIVITIES A plantation drive was carried out by Boycott Chinese products- The Interactors of Interactors of DAV Centenary Public School. class-XI raised awareness on being Vocal for Local and boycotting Chinese Products. Students prepared posters, GIFs, Power Point presentations and an Audio skit. A Search Bar was also prepared to know whether a product belongs to India or China or of any other country. Model United Nations DIPLOMACIA 3012 Rotaract District 3012 & Interact District 3012 organized the first edition of the Model United Nations DIPLOMACIA 3012. Many students participated in it. The first on topic ‘Causes and Remedy of Mental Health’ conducted by Professors Psychiatric department, AIIMS, Dr. Rajesh Sagar and Dr. Harish Gupta. The Second session was on ‘Is Indian Society ready to talk about Mental Health of children?’, the third session was about ‘Lifestyle and Mental Health in Indian Society’ and the last but not the least was on ‘Impact of Social Media on our children’. Such webinars not only keep us actively updated but also the sources from which we get this information are worth relying on. SIMPLFYING CYBER SECURITY Our students attended a webinar on ‘Simplifying Cyber Security: Threats and Opportunities' organized by Interact District 3012 on 28 November 2020. Renowned cyber security expert Mr. Rakshit Tandon was the guest speaker in the Webinar. This helped our students to know about serious issues like cyber security threats in today's world, where our dependency on technology has increased manifolds during the pandemic. They learnt about the various opportunities and avenues for pursuing cyber security as a career.
WORKSHOP ON POSITIVITY Our Interactors were fortunate to get an opportunity to attend a workshop about ‘having a positive health during the pandemic’. It was organized by the Rotary District on 28th December. Specialist doctors from different fields viz Dr Amit Yadav, Dr. Sameer Aggarwal, Dr. Sandeep Nayyar and Dr. Tejinder Kaur shared their expert advice with young minds. Interact District 3012 organized a webinar on Menstrual Health and Awareness. The main theme was \"Women Reproductive Health and Menstrual Hygiene\". RYLA is an annual event organized by Rotary district where interactors and Rotaractors participate in large numbers. Learning never stops……… We have been associated with Korean schools for a very long time. Our students exchange cards, letters and emails from time to time. To strengthen the bond further, our students learn Korean language as well. This year too a group of 25 students learnt this vibrant foreign language. The classes for third batch were held during the summer vacations by a Korean teacher Ms. Kim Hyunjin. The certificate ceremony was held on 29th October on virtual platform. Our students enthusiastically participated in Essay writing, Korea-India Quiz, Taekwondo, Poster making and K-Pop competitions held by the Korean Embassy in India. Our students like the previous years, participated in Korea-India Quiz and ten of our students made it to 2nd Level. Aashna Kalra of class X made us proud by making it to the finals.
Success stories…. Aashna Kalra of class X and Shrishti Sharma of class VIII received MANAK-Inspire award of Rs10,000/- each and their project idea got selected for District Level Exhibition & Project Competitions (DLEPCs) organized by the District Education Authority. Naman Singhal of class XI bagged 3rd rank in Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan National exam. He bagged 2nd position at District Level as well as State Level to reach the Finals where he performed stupendously. We are proud of his consistent hard work to reach such pinnacles. Mehul Ambastha of class XII A bagged First Prize in App Development in Xenix2.0 event organized by Ved Vyas DAV Public School, Vikaspuri. He developed a utility app. Shreeda of class-V bagged III prize in a Rap-It-Up competition organized by DLDAV Public School Pitampura. 3RD INTER SCHOOL ONLINE CHESS COMPETITION DAVCPSCN organized its 3rd Inter School Chess Competition for U-17 for boys and girls online on Lichess app for all DAV Schools on 11th October, 2020. Looking at the daunting and present pandemic situation the participation for the event happened online and registered active and mass participation. Top 10 students were given E- certificates.

APPRECIATION CEREMONY 2020-21 DAV Centenary Public School organized its Appreciation Ceremony on 27th March 2021 with great zeal and enthusiasm. The event was presented on a virtual platform due to the pandemic restrictions The theme for the Appreciation Ceremony was Animal Kingdom which was presented meticulously through a spectacular performance by the students of Preschool to grade 2. It is always an occasion that spreads joy and serves as a platform for students to exhibit their unique talents and build their confidence. Student names were presented under various categories like Cheerful Masters, Creative Thinkers, Speedy Readers, Techno friendly Children, Confident Pillars, Remarkable Performers and were appreciated for their efforts made throughout the year.
