ABOUT CONFERENCE WIHU World Congress is the largest meeting platform for global health service provider and humanitarian aids in the Muslim world. This congress is one of the impactful events for WIHU and the Muslim medical and health community. Each year, doctors, scientists, health practitioners and representatives of 110 non-government organizations from 65 countries, gather to discuss on the latest issues related with health services, researches, healthcare, medical, and humanitarian activities among the Muslim communities around the world. During this congress, all the presentations, discussions, exchange of ideas and resolutions will be the foundation to build the global organization and community. Therefore, it is expected that thousands of representatives will turn up and take part in this congress towards a consensual statement needed in each focused field. WIHU is responsible to make the final decision of the WIHU World Congress host. The host selection is an open process that supports WIHU mission to address all members regardless of their geographical location. Different cities have been selected to host this congress each year and for 2021, Malaysia has been chosen to host the 6th WIHU World Congress. Health Treatment World Islamic Health & Science Council has listed 15 health threats that will emerge in 2020 and beyond. These are: 1. Stress 9. Lesser nutritional value in food 2. Obesity 10. Exposure to intense magnetic field 3. Loneliness 11. Air and environmental pollution 4. Sedentary lifestyle 12. Aesthetics concerns 5. Vaccine hesitancy 13. Reduced health literacy 6. This will reduce the burden on hospitals, healthcare practitioners, and healthcare budgets. If these threats remain unmanageable, the Muslim community health will deteriorate, which will further be resulted in loss of human capital and economical adversities. Without a doubt that we need a healthy society to strengthen the Islamic World.

Nusantara Conference in Medical Issues (NuCMI) Humanizing Medicine: A Better World to Live is the theme chosen by PAPISMA (Pertubuhan Amal Perubatan Ibnu Sina Malaysia) for NuCMI. This is a bi-yearly conference where issues regarding healthcare will be presented and discussed for the benefits of the ummah. World Health Organization (WHO) is the main referral for the medicine and healthcare system globally, in accordance with the standard Western medicinal practices. The Muslim community on the other hand refers to WIHU and other non-government Islamic organizations to preserve the Islamic medicinal practices. In this conference, medical experts in Nusantara will be there to discuss the integration between Islamic and modern medicinal practices. In reality, Islamic and modern medicine are not two different practices however, due to cultural belief, change and stigmatization, these two practices could not co-exist. Historically, imperialism caused the separation of Islam and politics. The same can be spoken for the medicinal practices. According to Dato’ Dr. Zulkifly Muda, Terengganu Mufti, ancient medicinal practices had incorporated these Islamic and modern medicine without discrimination. However, the tools and technologies used were conventional and traditional. Post imperialism, most of the Islamic practices were separated from the modern practices and labelled as secularism. Fast forward to the current generation post imperialism, it has impacted our lifestyle and the way we think. With that in mind, PAPISMA wishes to address these issues in this conference. In conclusion, this conference serves the platform to demonstrate the world that the professionals are also championing Islamic medicinal practices. The outcome of this conference will provide better idea and solutions to various issues for the benefits of the ummah.
