CSBLIFE E-PORTFOLIO BY CALISTA AQUINO

ABOUT ________ Showcased within this portfolio are the CSBLIFE accredited activities I have been as part of my journey as a Benildean student. Come join me as I tell my story throughout the events I have been to!

INTERAKTIV 1.0 August 21 - September 30 How did the event support you in coping with the new normal of starting your college journey online? When it came to the thought of college, I found it overwhelming thinking about how new everything would be for me, and to make it more of a nerve wracking experience, I would be having my freshman year in CSB in online modality. I knew how hard it is to adjust to a new environment surrounded by new people, however I could never get used to the feeling of anxiety that came along with it. INTERAKTIV 1.0 put me at ease when they made their event lively enough to welcome us Froshies. Despite how difficult interaction could be through laptop screens and zoom calls, the hosts and event organizers of INTERAKTIV knew how to put a smile on our face by the end of our first day. The event was able to comfort me in a way in seeing how all of us were slowly opening up, and how I saw my blockmates were anxious yet excited as well. It felt as if I'm not alone through this, and that we have a lot of time to open up to one another, INTERAKTIV became our guide to making that happen and for me to start moving forward in my college journey.

MCAD Manila Screenings September 09 Have you ever given instructions to help someone become creative and/or innovative? Yes, I have. Throughout my time as a student, I slowly was able to grow confident in becoming creative without having to compare myself to others and their work, and that is because of the amount of effort and support I get throughout that growth of mine. In a sense, I know how it feels like to feel as if you are not creative or innovative enough, and its not bad to ask for help when it comes to that matter. I remember that my ability to be creative and innovative started to grow more during Senior High, because of my strand which was Accountancy, Business and Management (ABM). Because of the strand being inclined to putting up a business, one thing that it taught me was to become unique and stand out, so when it came to creating products and services, it would all be about thinking outside the box. Being in that strand as well as being a student leader at the time taught me to guide my classmates towards embracing their own imaginations and to suggest the ideas they find unique, creative or innovative in their own little ways, and because of this, they were able to successfully come up with ideas that others in our class, as well as our teacher found interesting. Encouraging others the way others used to encourage me is the biggest step into growing and showcasing your creativity and innovation.

How do you foresee yourself adapting to college life? I foresee myself going through another phase of growth. I've always heard how college will, I quote \"Change your life\" and as I experience this first term as a Freshman, all I could say is that this is only the beginning. There will be countless of times I will be expressing different types of emotions to people and I know it will not always go as smoothly as I plan my college day-to-day life to be, however I DEFINITELY know that I will be looking back at these moments and think that it was all worth it. The process, the road and the things that I have to go through to get to that point may be the most difficult part, but I know that I will be able to get through it. I need to always remember that I shouldn't always have to aim to be perfect or better, as long as I am able to move forward, baby steps or not, as long as there is progress, I will be proud of myself. August 31 - September 18 Life History Questionnaire

GENERAL & FROSH ELECTIONS October 25 - October 27 In your opinion, what is the importance of voting as a student in this time of pandemic? As a student, it has been taught throughout our history subjects of how much politics are important and are what make up our government in order for the country to have leaders and those in power. However, as you learn about these presidents and other people within the office, it opens our eyes to how much chaos can come with having to rule over a nation. Issues like corruption, abuse and such, are always heard when talking about our past and as years continue, and as I get older, I'm hit with reality at how we are being made fools by the government, yet most citizens or voters regret once the voting is already done. And so with this generation, it is evident at how much we educate ourselves into learning the candidates rather than listening to speeches of trust and promises. In this time of pandemic, the government of the Philippines is not doing quite well in handling the situation, yet many countries who have bigger populations than us are able to slowly go back to normal. It is ESPECIALLY during this time in the pandemic that students like me should exercise their right to vote just like in elections for student government because this showcases your beliefs and human rights. It gives us freedom without having to think of what others have to say, and thus it becomes highly important to become a voter and vote.

As a student, why do you think it’s important to celebrate National Student’s Day? As a student myself, I feel that it is definitely a must to be able to celebrate an event or day such as National Students' Day because of how so many students pursue the goal to be educated and learn throughout their first years through life. Many students, because of being able to get an education, are able to grow both themselves and other people through influencing them, and THIS makes them prepared for what life will throw at them once they start working and become independent. It is also important to note that through education, they are able to find out their dreams, their passions and motivations. However, I can definitely say, being a student isn't always easy as it is described to be. Many students, including myself go through many difficulties and battles in which could break them in the process or lose sigh of their path. To those students who have once gone through or ARE going through those times and feelings, being able to celebrate and appreciate themselves as students, for all their hardwork and efforts is the least we can do. Every type of student is valid and should deserve to have a day to celebrate who they are and what they are doing in their life to learn, to experience and to be educated. November 17 BENILDE STUDENTS' DAY

WHAT WAS YOUR MOST FAVORITE EVENT & WHY? I would have to say my most favorite event would be Benilde Students' Day, which was to celebrate National Student's Day within the CSB Community. During the event, I was one of the ambassadors and because of this, I was able to meet and interact with other students from different blocks, schools and years, despite myself being a freshman. This truly helped me embrace myself becoming a Benildean and seeing much more of the community rather than only seeing my blockmates. Seeing how much people were able to have fun throughout the event, with all the games and topics, I felt as if I was connected to all of them and it made me celebrate National Student's Day with a happy and contented heart. AFTER ATTENDING THESE EVENTS, WHAT DOES BEING A BENILDEAN MEAN TO YOU NOW? As the first term ends, and I have encountered and experienced many things, to me, being a Benildean is not only being a simple student of CSB who is under the La Salle name, but it is becoming someone who is passionate and shows their passion with the rest of the school and community. Throughout the events, I have seen many talents and met many people I am inspired by and because of this, this makes me want to show my full potential no matter may come my way. The Benildean community is full of life and energy as seen within these events and I would like to take a part in continuing the energy they are giving, in which helps me develop as a student and influence others to do the same as well.

WHAT WAS YOUR MOST MEMORABLE LESSON IN OUR SYNCHRONOUS CLASS? WHY? My most memorable lesson during our CSBLIFE classes would definitely be the lesson of TIME MANAGEMENT. The topic itself and how it was discussed was done in a way that will be of help to me and made me feel comfortable. Time Management is something that I quite lack in especially when the pandemic and the start of online classes began and Ms. Brodit was able to discuss time management in a way that serves as a form of encouragement that we would be able to grow and improve in this skill for the betterment of ourselves and our futures, as well as teaching us some tips and sharing from my other blockmates what they do to be on time or on schedule. The whole discussion itself made me believe that I could grow from this lack of time management of mine. CAN YOU SAY THAT CSBLIFE WAS ABLE TO PREPARE YOU FOR COLLEGE LIFE IN CSB? HOW? Yes it definitely was able to prepare me. CSBLife did not only teach me the basic ins and outs of CSB and the Benildean Community, but it was also able to teach me how to ready myself for experiences I will be facing within college, like having to fix my time management, checking my stress levels, knowing what type of learner I am and more. These things would help me make my college life in CSB easier since I was able to find out what type of student I am through the subject. Getting to interact and listen to the rest of the community through events throughout the first term also gave me a look into the type of people I will be with throughout my stay in Benilde. The CSBLife subject was in a way like a parent teaching their child their first steps, before they slowly get the hang of it and become independent.
