The Spectacular PoemsBy: Anjali Mathialagan

Simile Poetry:Water:Drinking magnifying water felt like a man dying of thirst drinking his first drops of water after anextremely extensive time. As it trickles down your parched throat you feel like you won a goldmedal in the Olympics. There is a limitless amount of water across the globe like the infiniteamount of stars in the universe. Water swivels and circulates like a car wash balloon.Hot Air Balloon:There are innumerable colours creating an attractive design like a hoard of butterflies. The frigidbreeze strikes you like your riding a rapid roller coaster as it circulates through the sky. Itlevitates through the never-lasting horizon and disappears through the clouds like a majesticfairy with delicate wings. As we soared across the sky the buildings become smaller and smallerlike an airplane departing from an airport.Teeth:It shines brighter than the sun like the mesmerizing eyes of an adorable deer. Occasionally itsmells extremely horrendous like foul-smelling, clammy Gym socks. As you smile exposing yourteeth people recognize yellow portions in your teeth like fireflies dancing in the mysterious night.Cavities become visible surprisingly like a surprise birthday party.

Laundry Machine:The laundry machine clamors and bickers causing numberless irritating sounds like awoodpecker pecking at trees. It magically cleans your greasy clothes like a quick-wittedmagician pulling a trick on you. The deafening sound booms throughout the house like alightning striking the surface of the Earth. It can be dangerous if some actions are done withoutthinking like a baby controlling a blender.Haiku Poetry: TraditionalSun:My best friends are clouds.I shine and I am scorching.I shine and I am big and bright.Haiku Poetry: ModernPerfume:Come in unique smells.Come in various colours. From unique brands.

Limerick Poetry:Todd was a person with a benevolent soul which is bright. On a dreary day the brightness shinned through the trenchers clouds spreading light. The only thing which Todd deceived was snow. One horrendous day a revolting snow storm hit his neighborhood making brightness low. Then he roared at the storm and the storm whimpered away at night.Cinquain: DidacticSnowflakesAllure, enchant, amuseThey have unique, distinct designsIt ushers the great holidaysGrand snow

Cinquain: TraditionalCakeDelicious, appealingTasting, frosting, icingStunning, alluring, prepossessing, appealingTreatAcrostic Poem:I attempt to savor the crystallized sugar which was majestic. It felt as if I was soaring across the sky over a meadow filled with various trees such as,msharia. My day was disastrous however; this treat helped me forget my burdens, making my daybrighten. The fruit portion in the store was abandoned whereas the candy portion in the store wascrowded. It smelled extremely dainty.Narrative Poem:The darkest hour is before dawn. However, I live in the traumatizing dark, everyday. The closestI grasp to the word outside of my eyesight is with my eyesight, and my nose. I hear sounds suchas, cling, bang, and peculiar smells.I lack the average understanding of a normal person making me feel like I am secured in a boxfor eternity. I don’t comprehend basic objects due to the dark, such as, the sky, I believe it is amenacing owl. My most preferred time of the day is when I go to sleep; I drift off into my ownworld where I can see objects and scenarios. When I stroll past people I hear sarcastic, spitefulsnickers and I feel the presence of people creating hand signs behind me. Those were thenights when my depressing tears couldn’t hold back.

One day I’m sad the next day I’m mad which led to suicidal thoughts. I felt unworthy to be on theface of the Earth I pull my parents back from achieving goals and all I am is a burden. I gotflustered like a lost dog I didn’t understand the real world all I really am is a messed up child.I started to sleep in from when the light comes out to when the night arrives. I felt like a clockwhich doesn’t move. Then one day my marvelous mother hollered at me addressing me tocome downstairs. My mother said,’’ Go in the car,’’ with a humongous smile.Once we reached the place she stated,’’ This is an orphanage for people like you,’’ I couldapprehend the reason we came here in order to help them. As soon as we entered the room theatmosphere was. . . different it was friendly you can hear people chattering tha, tha , tha and themost amazing thing is children laughing and playing. I realized the real reason my Motherbrought me here so I could embrace myself I am unique and beautiful.I was extremely hooked on becoming normal I never saw my own talents I may have the talentto exceed past normal humans. I felt like the lost dog finally found a map. I may have onedisadvantage but there are more advantages to top it. I braced my Mother in a warm hug andshe whispered in my ears,’’ Be original, be you.’’Concrete Poem:
