Isn't it amazing? 18 years of consecutive decisions has lead me to knowing- out of 7 billion people- one of the most insuf- ferable, annoying people ever. She will derail a conversation to drivel about some inane topic, or she'll complain constantly about a single thing that I can't do anything about simply to annoy me. She will call me at 2 a.m. just to ramble about something I never cared about. She will start singing while I'm in the middle of a sentence. And I wouldn't change a single thing about her, because she's one of the most genuinely caring, charming, hilarious and adorable people I've ever known. She's worth more to me than I can express through words, and I could likely write a whole book about why I'm blessed to have her in my life ~Sigma Male DILMI DELGODA Win or Lose, I don't care. Be- cause at the end of the day, I still have this face, so who's the real winner here? DINARA DELA The fastest runner that I know of in school is Dinara she is a dia- mond in the rough. I met Dinara in grade 10. One of my friends You will face many defeats in life, but introduced us to each other. From that day on words, we have never let yourself be defeated. been great friends. A few things that I have learned about her were that she is a very kind person, very funny, and also crazy. She is also very pretty and very popular among the other grades. Like in every Inter-House Athletics meet she will always get a championship for her house, Steven. She has 2 championships so far which is a very high achievement. We also took part in our Last Sinhala day which was before covid started. We did a play and Dinara had to take a role as a Sri Lankan Queen and I had 2 or 3 lines to narrate. I have to say she looked stunning in her costume. She looked like a real queen. And on top of that, her acting skills were amazing. We also like the same kind of food, pizza. She is also good at her studies. She loves Lonny toons like Sylvester and Tweety and Pink Panther. And she also became the Athletics Captain in our school. Which means she is known by everyone. She is an encouragement to everyone. I hope from the bottom of my heart that we will be lifelong friends. ~Thisendi 51

Met this guy when he joined in Year 3, became his first friend. Played cricket with him, now he’s captain. Man went on to do Athletics, Basketball and Chess too. Best thing about him; He’s an honest guy who’s humble, a monster on the tracks however, which gained him Athletics and even overall Games Captain. Best of luck for the future, and keep saying random dumb stuff, like that one time a teacher asked you “Why are you sleepy?” And you responded “Cuz you’re teaching”. I DULAJ WIJEWARDENA mean look at him, what more could you expect from him other whatever you do in this life, it’s than getting you something from a shelf above or so. Jokes aside, not legendary unless your friends he is really an outgoing person and will make friends no matter are there to see it where he goes, I don’t know, he just has his ways I swear. The 52 good thing about Dulaj is he’ll always laugh at your jokes no mat- ter how bad they are, even if it doesn’t make sense he’ll still laugh. Like most of the time, he’ll laugh at his own joke which is sad I mean like who even does that ha-ha. One thing that really triggers him is pulling his pants down. Did that once and ended up getting slapped in the face so hard, learnt my lesson. Oh, and Women love him, I kid you not (as friends obviously). He keeps telling me, “Meow meow woof woof”, every call or when we’re out, what an odd guy for real. So yeah, I mean solid guy other than the fact that he’s a bit weird. ~Alan He has had deep-seated fear of women up till Grade 3, which may still continue to this day.

Dulara (The Guy), One of the shortest people I’ve known, Has still yet to hit his growth spurt. His sense of humour is horri- ble, but it’s exactly why it’s funny. I’ve known him for 9+ years and he’s one of my closest and real ones. He’s one unique character, it’s hard for anyone to duplicate his sense of style, personality and humour. We were in the same class in year 1. It was the first day of year 1 for us and also the first day at Gateway for Hammaad. We never knew each other. Hammaad's decision to sit next to me is why our friendship is still growing. I'm so lucky to have a friend as wonderful as Hammaad. The days when I didn't do my maths homework, Hammaad's maths book was open for me to copy. Ever since I know him, he was never late to school. Put himantha in a room with anyone, and he'll get along with them easy. He's quick witted and easy going, but knows when to stand up for himself and others. He speaks his mind about things, and tells a friend when they're in the wrong. Himantha also has the most unhinged sense of humour, but it really does make you laugh. But i think the most iconic thing about himantha is his tower- ing height. Most of us have to tilt our heads upward to talk to him, and he really does know how the weather is up there. For as long as I’ve known him, he was crazy from the day I met him. The rest is history Sometimes he just doesn’t think twice before doing anything, be it me or his brother or anyone cuz he almost got suspend- ed when he was only in grade 7 because he kneed me down there. Towards the end of grade 13, he became quite popular and left most of our batch mates very confused cuz he kept winning best goal keeper awards when we knew he just couldn’t even catch the ball. That’s when we realized all the credits go to the defence. Apart from the nice guy he is, he is so energetic and autistic and has definitely made the last few years of school very interesting for most of us. He’s someone who I’ll always look out for no matter what. ~Raju 55

Imad has a great love for football and his team- mates, is a great chef and is naturally smart about things. ~Induni IMAD IMRAN I love bananas Induni is always ready to laugh at your jokes and really knows how to have a good time. Light-hearted and sweet, she's a great person to have around. She'll always make the dumbest jokes and remembers every single of detail of the best memories. A friendly face, eager to make everyone feel included, she has this habit of always saying hi with the biggest smile. Her best moments are probably when she's around her favourite accounting teacher. Insha is the most beautiful soul I’ve ever seen – and that soul is trapped in a body with a brain slower than Internet Explor- er. She is loving and caring and super fun to hang out with and she's an elite shoulder to cry on. She can be super ener- getic and goofy, especially when she’s with her fellow part- ners-in-crime but, when she needs to be, she can be so sensi- tive and understanding that it seems like she always knows the right thing to say to comfort someone or give them ad- vice; almost like it is telepathy. Insha has taught me more about emotions and people than anyone else I’ve ever met but she has also been a source of joy and happiness to anyone lucky enough to call her their friend. It’s just unfortunate that she sometimes takes 4-5 business days to get a joke. I’ve been friends with her the moment she stepped into my classroom in grade 6. She’s one of the most sensitive, caring and fun person I’ve known who I can always count on to have a good time with no matter what. You can also go to her when your not feeling your best or have a problem. Although she may not give you the best advice you can rely on her to listen to all your problems and have a fun time seeing her struggle to offer you advice that actually makes sense. Over the past 7 years I’ve seeing her go from liking “caramel” to “blueberries”. For as long as I’ve know her she continues to shock me with her pronunciation she portrays a dumb blonde without the blonde which is surprising considering that’s she’s pretty smart when she wants to be. ~Dulara (female) LAVINIA WIJESINGHA waking up is the second hardest thing to do Maleeka is a lot of things... determined, courageous, funny, enthu- siastic... but most of all she is one of the strongest people I know. Many people say that Mandinu is Pamidu’s clone. I disagree. If Pamidu MANDINU PERERA knew what Mandinu has done over the last few years, he’d wonder I have no idea where he went wrong. Mandinu and I have been in the same class for six years now. I’ve experienced his many phases, such as Cryday, the Year 8 Bus Trip, his production of cheese, his ventures into cross- dressing and much more. Yet despite his many proclivities, he is a man who is true to himself. He has no dark past to speak of, only a come- dic one. He has been the only friend whom I can consistently trust, and one who has always been on my side, no matter the circumstance, and no matter how much I have annoyed him. I have no doubt that he will continue to be my best friend for the years to come, and that he has a bright future ahead of him, one in which April Fool’s, hopefully, will not be a method of seduction. ~sexy P.S> Sorry for what happened in Grade 9. I honestly cannot remember when we became friends but I wish it happened a lot sooner. From all the crazy days at Dra- ma to all the odd inside jokes that have carried on for the longest time, I loved every single one of it. Ismath's hobbies include: arriving to school during the interval, mak- ing badly timed jokes, and getting friendzoned. Labelled as the infa- mous \"chinky\", Ismath has a reputation of causing trouble and living up to his brother's name. It must be fun being called Ishrath every now and then. All jokes aside, Ismath forms the best bonds with people and is great at making an impression on people. He is said to be quite the gentlemen and buys flowers for his girls. He is also known for his 'helmet game', a crowd favourite (honestly, no context is needed). ~Ometh MOHAMED ISMATH When in doubt go all out Thaqi Riza is one of the most amazing people i have met in my years of schooling. He is an extremely kind and helpful person. Thaqi is very good in his academics and a talented football player. Too bad he stopped football though. MUNIR ASLAM The Munir Aslam, more commonly known as squishy, is an incredible specimen of a man. my smile is brighter than all your Squishy is usually spotted with blood shot eyes and an evil futures grin across his face whilst he bullies innocent classmates. Nevertheless, he is loved by all and is built for optimal attrac- tion according to Newtons Law of Universal Gravitation (higher the mass = higher the attraction). Standing at a height of 5’8 Mr. Aslam is an absolute wall on the pitch. His determination and grit shone through when he proved himself to the crowd despite being jeered at. Now, on to his most redeeming feature, the Squishy has the most magnificent glutes that I’ve had the pleasure of seeing. It is sad to go our separate ways but I take comfort in know- ing the sound of his nefarious laughter will live forever in my memory. ~Vinuki I’ve been friends with munira since primary school. There are sev- eral memories I can recall about her but the most vivid memories of her are: One memory of Munna would be our infamous trip to India. She met the love of her life “Luv Kush Agraval” who carried her to the hospital when she fainted in the middle of dancing to Bollywood songs. Another memory of munna would be us getting chased by Sir Rasika when we would skipped periods to sit in the Canterbury. I remember the way you bolted in the opposite direction when sir Rasika was approaching us. Najeeb has always been one of my most hilarious pals. He has a bril- liant sense of humor that could lighten anyone’s distressed mind. Even in class when the lesson becomes a bit monotonous he would always be there to spice up the vibe. When I wasn’t able to come to school regularly, I used to get my notes from him daily. There was a good thing and an annoying part about this. The good thing was that he sent the notes regularly to me on time. The annoying bit was reading his messed-up handwriting. Initial- ly, it was annoying but after some time I got used to it. Nevertheless, he has been one of my most hyperactive friends always there to brighten my mood. ~Pooja (Tall) NAJEEB AZMIE Each detail in of it itself DOESN'T MATTER, but a THOUSAND DE- TAILS have a gravitational pull towards EXCELLENCE! From bunking classes , going “hunting “ in the intervals to the canteen runs , ofc the kibula bunis he had everyday that we ate during every class , and the genuine moments we’ve had filled with nothing but laughter are just a fraction of the things that I will remember forever. Nimeshini is an amazing friend who I hold many shared opinions with. For the majority of my life I have never met someone who has the same view points and opinions as me until I met her, we connect in a way I have never experienced with anyone else before. I love and treasure her dearly and I’m so glad I was fortunate enough to encoun- ter her in my life. She is amazing, straightforward, charming and strong willed. She is joy to be around and brimming with positive en- ergy, she is always open with her mind and heart, a quality that is truly rare among our peers today. In the years to come I’m sure she will keep flourishing with her go getter attitude and strong mindset. ~Piyumi NIMESHINI SURIAARACHCHI Align the stars and create your own constellation OMETH DE SILVA Ometh joined school within the last 2 years in addition to that he rarely ever showed up to school not giving much of a I’m not lazy, I’m just on energy-saving chance to get to know him. However, out of the finite time we mode spent together there are a few things that I learnt about this interesting character. Ometh is the person who puts in abso- lutely everything into what he’s focused on whether its with football or with studies. He is the type of person who works last minute but he manages to do this very successfully and effectively, surprising everyone with good grades thanks to the determination that lies within him. He is also famously called “Labo” among the boys (ifykyk). He also has to work on his communication as he never screams to communicate with his peers. By carrying all the perks that builds his charac- ter the Lyceum scholar without a doubt will succeed in his future endeavours ~Ching 69

My guy Ovin was probably the stupidest but the nicest guy I've ever met. We bonded really fast and created so much memo- ries on and off school that's going to be unforgettable. He was always supportive no matter what (even for the bad things) and an amazing person to be with. Won't ever forget all the \"canteen\" moment and all the \"bob and rob\" memories. Moreover, he's really energetic and never in a bad mood. Have more than 100 inside jokes between of us and one of the best lines we use is, \"i'll tell your girl ah\". Never going to forget all the laughter and bunking together and definitely other things as well. 400g of Chicken Breasts and Pasta and Kibula Bunis was the best interval meal of all time. Ovin is one of the best people I've met and always will remain unforgettable forever and our friendship would last till the very end. ~Nashwan OVIN GAMAGE “Don’t don’t ah” in response to Nashwan Pehan Amarathunge. The man, the myth & the legend. I met him in PEHAN AMARATHUNGE Grade 9 where we – quite frankly – didn’t converse over anything. Pause and Ponder It was an occasional hi or bye. But things got going in Year 10, when we started doing BTEC Eng. together. From designing flaw- less presentations for AutoCAD projects, to crushing 3D prints with the strength of almighty god, he would always excel. We continued to cherish our friendship through secondary school. I once didn’t know that you needed a modulus operator to identify odd and even numbers during a CS Practical Exam. I might or might have not looked at his screen for “guidance”, but that is just one example of Pehan coming to the rescue. Pehan is also a pro- found badminton player – proving to be an all-rounder and a per- son that showcases true rigour in time management & execution. Ranuka probably is the definition of a social butterfly. It was halfway through the semester and that’s when Thenuki walked into the FPM class. Instantly, it was flashback to my first day of school in year 12, and all the nerve-wrecking feelings just came rush- ing back. One of my first few friends I made here who helped me settle in here easily. She’s extremely hard working which is proved by her many achievements here. But let’s face it she is also one of the most annoying people I know.
