Sir MV’s abiding Principles, which guided his life “Never use one's official position to bestow favours on one’s relatives. Make out a straight line of conduct and walk on it regardless of other people's curves.” The proof that he walked his talk, can be gauged from the following anecdote. A week before he took over as Dewan of Mysore Kingdom, he invited all his relatives and friends for a dinner. At the end of the dinner, he said,“ My dear friends and relatives, I have received an offer to become the next Dewan. Do you want me to accept it please?”. They said in chorus, “Of course, yes, we are delighted”. Sir MV said, “I will accept the offer only on one condition that none of you will ever contact me for any favor !”. A well dressed person does things in a much better way than a • slovenly one.” • “That a person who is neat in his dress can be clean and straight in his life. To be well dressed is to be well-disciplined.” • “Dress inculcates discipline and also shows respect and courtesy to those whom he meets.” • The proof of his convictions lies in the fact that you can never find even a single photo of his without his being dressed in the formal way. 130 /1/1667

Sir MV’s abiding Principles: •“Industrialize or perish •Produce and prosper •Always work hard, at least 10h per day •Always support a worthy cause •Be punctual and expect everybody to be so. •Never tolerate slipshod work.
