Summer Creative Drill Dear Parent The rising Covid cases are creating a mayhem in the society, where staying home and safe is the only most option available with us today. Schools have been closed for the summer vacations and students are being kept engaged in various programs for their mental health and well-being. The Holidays Homework have been designed by us in such a manner where students shall enjoy discovering the creative streak in them and their intelligentsia the world is yet to see… Involve your kids in your household chores, let them take care of their rooms and belongings, let them take care of their grandparents, let them understand the meaning of 'dignity of labour'. Help them understand the meaning of Staying Alive and Healthy in such pandemic situation. Let's work together by giving our kids a stress-free world...An environment where they find joy and happiness...
ENGLISH 1. A pictogram is a symbol or picture which represents a word or idea. We can see these pictograms every day in signs and labels such as on roads, in public places, about sports and games, or on some products. Find out and draw 5 pictograms for each of the following mentioned below (Refer Page no. 85 in WOW book): a. Roads b. Public Places c. Daily Products d. Garments e. Sports and Games 2. With reference to the Chapter – Lakshadweep (pg. no. 57) in WOW book, make a travelogue on Lakshadweep island, draw pictures and colour them. You can take an idea from the following samples: 3. The surging rise in Covid cased have forced Delhi to undergo complete lockdown with schools declaring summer vacation. Other years you all enjoyed and rejuvenated yourself preferably by going on vacation to hill stations or grandmother's place. We want to know this year how the vacation had been for you. You will pen down your daily experiences in a diary using the Sentence Structures learnt in English Conversation Classes. Use the format given below: 4. Comprehension skills are fundamental to language fluency and are necessary for your success. They are a part of every subject you learn, and these skills are imperative to your advancement in school. To improve these skills, solve Practice Worksheets 1 to 3 of Section A (Reading) given in workbook (Together With). 5. Solve Testing Grammar Skills Worksheet given in the workbook (Together With)- Page no. C3 to C11. 6. Read Chapter 1 to 6 of the Supplementary Reader book – A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. Research on APJ Abdul Kalam, watch videos available on YouTube about him and make a project based on his contribution to the country as a scientist on A4 size ruled sheets.

MATHEMATICS 1. Write and learn tables from 2 to 20. (five times in rough notebook) 2. Solve Chapter 2 Fractions and Decimals in workbook. 3. Practice all solves examples and try these of Chapter 2 in rough notebook. ACTIVITY SECTION 1. Mathematics in flags Select flag of India and any (one) other country and investigate some of the following: • What shapes can you see in it? Can you describe them and their angles? • Does the flag have any lines of reflective symmetry, if so, how many lines? • Can you find any pair of parallel lines? If so mark them on your flags. • Are there any lines perpendicular to another? Now design a flag which has at least of symmetry geometrical shapes, parallel or perpendicular lines. 2. Puzzles- Using puzzles is a great way to learn Maths’s facts and develop mental calculation and thinking skills in a fun and easy way. If you really like exercising your brain, figuring things round and round till you explode, then given below are few Maths puzzles/ tricks that you can explore. Go ahead and have fun. A) MAGIC SQUARE In magic square every row, column and diagonals add up to make the same total, a magical number! In a traditional 3 by 3 magic square the digits 1 to 9 are used to make total of 15. Magic squares are also good way to improve addition skills using a group of addends, three whole numbers in an equation. B) PERIMETER MAGIC TRIANGLES A magic triangle (also called a perimeter magic triangle) is an arrangement of the integers from 1 to n on the sides of a triangle, so that the sum of integers on each side is constant, the magic sum of the triangle. Create your own magic square and perimeter magic triangle 2 each.
SOCIAL SCIENCE HISTORY: Imagine yourself to be a Tourist Guide and create a Pamphlet choosing any famous monument, famous Temples, famous Gurudwaras, famous churches, etc to attract tourists to visit it. a) Give it an apt heading b) Paste pictures of the monument chosen c) Highlight the key features of that place d) Add details about the best time to visit it e) Where it is located etc. GEOGRAPHY: “NATURE IS THE ART OF GOD” – In the light of above statement, you are required to prepare a Power Point Presentation (PPT) featuring various types of Forests. (including its uses, types of trees, animals, etc.) CIVICS: “DEMOCRATIC INDIA” – Prepare a Collage on any five political parties in India along with their founders, important leaders, symbols drawn or pasted. NOTE: Students are required to complete all the work in their notebooks and use resources which are available at the home only. No need to go outside during this Pandemic. STAY HOME, STAY SAFE
