0.6SL OAA-OCC-N2018-001 ECOCERT INPUTS 17030113
An alkaloid extracted from Sophora flavescens which is a highly efficient, broad spectrum, organic, botanical pesticide. Its active 0.6SL ingredient, Matrine, controls Diamondback Moth (DBM) in Cabbage by direct contact and stomach poison. Matrix 0.6 SL acts on insect pest central nervous system, causing breath inhibition and motion imbalance against DBM. COMPOSITION Matrine ............................................................................................... 6 g Other Alkaloid ............................................................................... 30 g Organic Matter .......................................................................... 300 g Ethanol ......................................................................................... 200 g Water ................................................... (as solvent) to fill to 1000m DIRECTION FOR USE: MATRIX 0.6SL is a botanical insecticide & can effectively control the following insect pests: CROP INSECT PEST DOSAGE Pechay Diamond Back Moth 5 tbsp per 16L sprayer Timing of application: 25 DAT Interval of application: 10 days BENEFITS: Organic botanical pesticide Curative and preventive insecticide Reduced population of DBM No effect on beneficial insects High yield (in terms of number and weightof marketable cabbage head) Less development of pesticide resistance Low pesticide residue Low toxicity to humans and other animals Environmentally friendly
Diamondback Moth Information Pest Damage: DBM damages crops by larval feeding or the presence of larvae contaminating produce. Although they are small relative to other lepidopteran pests, larval densities can reach levels that result in total destruction of leaves, leading to tremendous economic losses. In brassica crops such as cabbage, DBM is the most destructive insect pest throughout the world. Life Cycle: Pupa A loose silk cocoon, usually formed on the lower or outer leaves of the host plant. After a few days of quiescence, pupation occurs inside the cocoon. Pupae change from yellow to brown as they develop, are ≈7–9 mm in length, and require 5–15 d to complete development. Larva The larval stage of DBM includes four instars and generally requires 5–7 d for each stadium, with a total larval development time of 20–28 d. The body bears a few short hairs marked by the presence of small white patches and tapers at both ends with a pair of prolegs protruding from the posterior end, forming a “V” shape . Egg DBM eggs are oval, flattened, ≈0.44 mm in length by 0.26 mm in width, and yellow or pale green. Egg incubation in the field is highly temperature dependent, ranging from 2 to 20 d and averaging around 6 d. Adult Adults are slender, grayish-brown moths ≈6 mm in length with pronounced antennae. Moths are marked with a broad, cream or light-brown band along the back that is sometimes constricted to form one or more light-colored diamonds (especially in males), which is the basis for the common name of this insect. Adults can be found resting on foliage during the day, becoming more active just before dusk when most mating and oviposition occurs.
