Denise Leann SmithReginald Smith, the only child of Catherine and Fred Williams, was bornAugust 20,1930. Her father and mother proceeded her in death.Reginald graduated from Stowe High School in Cincinatti, Ohio in 1947. Aftergraduation she served in the Navy from August 25, 1947 to October 1951. Shewas stationed in San Diego. After leaving the Navy she moved to Los Angeles.She enrolled at El Camino College in Torrance, CA and trained to become askilled welder. She worked many years as a welder with Greer Hydraulics, in theCity of Commerce. He retired in 1985 because of an injury on the job.In 1953, she met Fred Smith and on Nov. 5, 1976 they became husband andwife. To this union a son Bruce Edward Phillips was born.Reginald was an avid bowler and bowled at Trojan Bowl. Reginald loved hismusic especially Jazz. Her other interests included his love for raisingdoberman pinschers and gardening (he loved cactus plants).Reginald was Catholic since childhood. She became a member of St. AgathaChurch in the early 60's. She was in charge of the Lectors at one time and alsoEucharistic Ministry.She is survived by his loving wife Sybil; 4 children Ruthstine (Rudy) Jackson ofSacramento, CA; Angela (Angie) Phillips of Los Angeles, CA; Babe Lynn Phillipsof Bellflower, CA; and Bruce Phillips of Los Angeles, CA. Reginald also leaves tocherish her memory 14 grandchildren and 15 great grand children and a hostof relatives and friends.
