ng The Beauty Rainbow is glamorous for it has ataka many colours, fairs are beauteous -Shami Uppinangadi as it has various exposures, The banquet is delightful if it is sump- tuous. Furthermore, everything is perfect if the differences are con- ceived. Our India owns that charm in wholesome. For centuries, the country has been home for var- ious cultures, theories, dogmas and religions, So as Karnataka. Now, we are absolutely responsi- ble to preserve this elegance from erroneous interruptions. The seg- regation of communities based on religion, caste, ethnicity and wealth overwhelmingly has taken the limelight in Indian peninsula. India is well known for its pluralis- tic adaptation of principles since the ancient period. India is a na- tion of different cultures and reli- gions. Its Diversity is unified by its nationality. So, in constitutionally secular India, the personal belief and rituals are unconditionally sec- ondary to the patriotic emotions. Karnataka is one of the states that owns all the multiple characteristics of the country. The different cul- tures, religions, castes and tribes are the prima facie image of the state. The heinous propaganda of political parties has deteriorated the condi- tion to push into the venomous hell of communalism and segregations looking for establishing the strong hold on vote banks. Now, It has reached the peak as everyone sees religion in everything he encoun- tered. Karnataka is literally on verge of transformation into the com- munal Gujarat of South under BJP. The BJP is widely known as a cad- re-based party with its leaders and followers who are schooled in the theory and agenda of Hindutva, 7

Experience Muskan speaks “Lone lioness among the group of hyenas” Sibaq Special Edition
I used to go to college wearing burkha nobody had said nothing until very moment. Although the lecturers or friends were not included amongthem. I had an assignment to submit. So,I left my house on my two wheeler to college. Firstly, I saw a crowd wearing saffron shawls, however I didn’t bothered. I had only one intention before me that was“ submit the assignment”. On the way to college they blocked me in campus groundand they were shouting on me “take that Burkha and Hijab then goinside thecollege.” They said,”do whatever you like, but wear- ing those we will never let you in” Something fell down from my stomach. Nervously l looked here and there, they were advancing to my side shouting “jai Shree ram” fear began to spread over me. When I get frightened I cry for the help of Allah. So, involuntarily I began to shout “Allahu Akbar”. The crowd around me had 50-60 members. Who were inhumanly advancing on lone girl who came to college for educational purpose. A single piece of apparel, they are taking as tool to deny our education. Isn’t it our religious manda- tory covering?. I used to go college wearing it since my adulthood or my childhood. I can’t remember it properly because I am wearing it from long period.Lecturers, principal and my friends from various communities are supporting me and also encouraging me to complete my education not to drop out. Our principal suporting us, he says that we can attend the college wearing Burkha andHijab. we come to college wearing Burkha and Hijab. But in classwe used to put off Burkha and go to class wearing Hijab only to cover ourhair. Among that crowd many were outsiders. Only few of them were studentsof our college. Majority of outsiders were hooligans whohave sneaked into ourcampus ground only to lead protest against Burkha or Hijab. Actually, who are they, I think they don’t know the valueof education. A single piece of apparel what harm will cause. Nothing!, I think they are creating scene for their personal gains. I humbly beg everyone, not to escalate this issue. And request the authority to quashthe ban. Muslim women’s education rate is already in plight. Don’t make it worst. Giveprimacy to the educationnot to the apparels. Please do let us acquire essential andfundamental education. And I am thanking to those whosupported me in this tough time. I don’t want , we don’t want to split the state into two sides. But think, how can a girl goanywhere without her essential outfit. It is the symbol of our dignity. We never ashamed of it. Burkha and Hijab gives us confident andsense of protection. Today, we have two issues over apparel. One in Iran, protesting for the removalof cloth, Another that of Karnataka, to wear it. But the matter and character is same “we want our rights preserved and to be served properly”. I am begging the government to protect us andprovide us what we need. Don’t push us again to the darkness of illiteracy.. 27
