Announcements First Home Game Tailgate DSUAA invites you to join us for a tailgate event to kick-off the 2023 football season. The tailgate will take place on Saturday, September 2nd from 11am-4pm on the DSU Campus (parking lot 1). The event is free for DSUAA financial members. Non-financial members may pay membership dues at event or a $25 fee. This event is sponsored by the Kent County, New Castle County, and Sussex County Local Chapters of DSUAA. All alumni are welcome. Alumni Forum: Amazon Job Opportunities DSUAA invites you to participate in an Alumni Forum featuring Amazon who will be discussing their available career opportunities. The event will take place on Wednesday, August 23rd at 6:30pm. Those in attendance will have the opportunity to participate in an Amazon site tour which will be scheduled at a later date. All are welcome.

Announcements Homecoming Scholarship Fundraiser On behalf of the Delaware State University Alumni Association, we invite you to participate in the DSUAA \"Back on the Yard - The Show\" Scholarship Fundraiser. This event will be the feature DSUAA event for Homecoming 2023. The event will take place Friday, October 20th at 8pm. You do not want to miss it! Join us for live music, dancing, food, and more! The organization held their first event in which current students welcomed incoming freshmen who were a part of the Summer Academy program. The students hosted a paint nite with the incoming freshmen. DSUAA looks forward to working closely with students throughout the school year.

Local Chapter Announcements Sussex County The Sussex County Chapter is once again hosting the \"Band at the Beach\" event in which they sponsor the DSU Approaching Storm Marching Band to perform at Rehoboth Beach. The event will take place on Sunday, September 3rd from 7-9pm at the Rehoboth Beach Bandstand. All are welcome to attend. Sponsorship opportunities are also available. Greater Washington Chapter The Greater Washington Chapter is partnering with the Beyond the Badge Foundation to host its 3rd Annual Stuff the Backpack Drive. The New school supplies and backpacks will be donated to several schools throughout the state of MD. Donations are currently being accepted. The stuffing event will take place from 8am-3pm on Saturday August 26, 2023 at Tubman High School in Columbia, MD. All are welcome to participate.

Local Chapter Announcements New Castle County The New Castle County Chapter invites you to attend their 40th Annual Scholarship Gala, taking place on Sunday, August 20th at 2pm at the Chase Center in Wilmington. All are welcome. The DSUAA, New Castle County Leadership Team would like to encourage all DSU Alumni residing in New Castle County to attend our next monthly meeting. Meetings are held on the 4th Tuesday of each month. Please reach out to [email protected] for the meeting credentials.

Local Chapter Announcements Atlanta Metro Chapter Metro Atlanta DSUAA is excited to call all Hornets to our first Hornet Family Night! We look forward to closing out the summer season and beginning a new year for the chapter! We are excited for your participation, your input and your fellowship! Be ready to enjoy good company, good food and good ideas! DSC Legends Affinity Group The Tailgate Event is Saturday October 21, 2023, at the tennis courts at 10:00 A.M. The DSC Legends are asking you to join our affinity group as a core member for $100.00, $25.00 for the yearly membership and $75.00 covers food and beverage for the players, coaches, cheerleaders, a few students and you. If you decide not to become a core member your $30.00 donation will be donated to the DSC Legends Athletics Scholarship Endowed Fund, also gives you access to a few foods and beverages items.

Past Events Membership Town Hall On behalf of the Delaware State University Alumni Association, we would like to thank everyone who participated in the Alumni Forum: Membership Town Hall event. We appreciate all of the feedback that was provided and questions that were asked. Please see link to event recording below which included a demonstration of how to best utilize the DSUAA Website and Member Portal. Alumni Forum: Membership Town Hall Q1 2023 Recruitment Training On Tuesday, August 1st, DSUAA partnered with the University's Office of Admissions to provide a Recruitment Training to Alumni. Thank you to everyone who participated in the event. A follow-up email will be sent sharing the key resources and information that was provided in the training.

Past Events HBCU Symposium - Volunteers Several members of the DSUAA Greater Washington Chapter volunteered throughout the week as the University hosted its 13th annual HBCU Philanthropy Symposium. The event took place July 30th through August 2nd at the National Harbor in Maryland. More than 50 HBCUs, 7 MSIs, and 20 corporate and philanthropic partners were involved in the symposium. \"Finance Fridays\" at Teach21 Enrichment Inc. DSUAA Alumni Representative, Alexander Hackett, volunteered at Teach21 Enrichment Inc., to speak to students for \"Finance Friday\", encouraging students to dream big and work hard.

Past Events Greater Washington Chapter - Golf Tournament Sponsor The Greater Washington Chapter was the official water sponsor for the 2023 KCDF Golf Tournament! 112 golfers, 30 sponsors, and money earned for scholarships and mentoring programs. New Castle County - Media Features The DSUAA New Castle County Chapter was featured as guests on DETV's Good Morning Wilmington for July 10, 2023 to discuss their upcoming 40th Annual Scholarship Luncheon (photo on the left - (Carmen D. Harmon, Dr. Lisa Lancaster, Kaylynn Pride (DSU Alumni) and Vincenza Carrieri-Russo). The Chapter also had the opportunity to interview on the Community Crossroads on July 13, 2023, with Wilmington De Councilwoman Zanthia Oliver (DSU Alumni). Pictured also is Carmen D. Harmon, Dr. Lisa Lancaster and Vaughn Bond Jr.

Past Events Atlanta Metro Chapter - MEAC Cookout The Atlanta Metro Chapter of DSUAA served as host of the 2023 MEAC Cookout. The event took place on Saturday, July 8th and was a big success. Every MEAC school was represented. Florida Chapter - HBCU Picnic South Florida The South Florida HBCU Picnic took place on Saturday, August 8th and was held at Florida Memorial University. The Florida Chapter of DSUAA participated in the event. Over 30 HBCUs were present.

Past Events Greater Washington Chapter - Crab Feast On Friday, July 28th, the Greater Washington Chapter hosted its Annual Crab Feast. More than 100 hornets were in the building as funds were raised for scholarships. Greater Hampton Roads Chapter - Football MEAC Media Day The GHR Chapter attended the Football MEAC Media Day on July 21, 2023 held in Norfolk, VA. Chapter member Robert Presbury dined with Coach Hull and DSU AD Alecia Shields- Gadson On Thursday evening. Coach Hull and the football players made us so proud to be DSU Hornets!������

Join DSUAA Today! Membership is available to all graduates and former DSU students who attended for one year or more. Active DSUAA membership is achieved by paying annual dues, ranging from $50.00 to $1,000.00 for Life Memberships. Payment of dues to the DSUAA provides the funds for the organization to carry out its goals and objectives, specifically for its operations and initiatives relative to the support of university programs and the achievement of university goals. As members of the association, alumni can also take advantage of great benefits including voting privileges in the DSU Alumni Association, 10% discount at the DSU Bookstore, Networking Opportunities, and more! The fiscal year shall be July 1 to June 30. Membership dues are to be paid during each fiscal year. More information on the types of Memberships, Rights and Benefits of Membership, and the link to pay your Membership dues is listed below.
