The Waßmer family has been involved in winemaking for many generations but it was only in 1997 that Martin Waßmer founded Weingut Martin Waßmer and started to make his own wine. Martin Wassmer is a trained chef. He did not have any formal training as winemaker. He attended seminars and gained practical experience at other wine estates. In terms of Martin Wassmer's winemaking philosophy, all the wines are fermented dry, where possible, natural yeasts are used, and the wines are kept on the lees for as long as possible. Maturation takes place in the tradition and style of Burgundian wines.

GERMAN WINES CHARDONNAY >SW< WHITE 2020 Baden/Markgräflerland Dry, Qualitätswein For our Selection and Single Site wines, Martin Wassmer reduce our yields down to 35-50 hl/ha. This allow us to achieve a higher concentration in our wines. \"SW\" wines are wild yeast fermented and mature in Burgundy-made barrique. CHARACTERISTICS: Chadonnay 100% Region: Sites from the Markgräflerland region Notes: An opulent fragrance with hints of vanilla, caramel, subtle gingerbread spices, ripe pear, candied lemon, toasted hazelnuts and balsamic notes. Palette: An elegant minerality. The aromas that take precedence on the nose are clearly found on the palate as well, ending with a harmonious finish. It has a convincing length and a nice creamy melt. Soil : Calcareous soils with layers of loess and clay. Perfect Pairing: Crustaceans and strong fish dishes roasted or grilled, as well as white meat such as pork or veal also strongly roasted. Hard cheeses or red smear cheeses.

The quality of our wines stems in large part from our stiirctly enforced reduced yields. the cap of 66 hl/ha benefits the eventual wines tremendously. GREEK WINES CHÂTEAU NICO LAZARIDI RED 2017 Protected Geographical Indication (P.G.I) Drama The most famous brand name of the NICO LAZARIDI Winery is related to the company’s history, as well as to the oenological revival of the Prefecture of Drama in 1987. The vineyard, where the grapes are cultivated, encompasses perimetrically the Château Nico Lazaridi Winery, which is fully adjusted to the natural environment. A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot with Sangiovese varieties confirms the geographical indication and the superior quality of the Château Nico Lazaridi. Labels by the Greek artist Giorgos Taxidis. CHARACTERISTICS: Cabernet Sauvignon 60 % Merlot 30% Sangiovese 10%. Classic red wine vinification with délestage method, ages for 12 months in oak barrels.
