Honestly, looking back, I didn’t know I would’ve made it this far ahead, surviving, thriving, and dancing! It was definitely not an easy process nor a fast one. Rather, it has its own ups and downs. From the body sores, sabaw moments that you can’t really keep up with the pacing anymore, the pandemic, and self-loathing and insecurities. Battling all of these to get to where I am now feels fulfilling! Back then, I was too shy to dance even if the steps were too simple that even a 1st Grader could do! I was full of self- doubt, always considering the opinions of other people more than my own. These things detoriated my overall well-being. Realizing this, I choose to only listen to my own. Making this journal greatly helped me in finding my true self. In improving my mental, physical, and emotional being all together. From setting monthly goals, doing daily affirmations, and celebrating small wins (like creating a choreo), I feel like I was not stagnant like I was used to before onset of the pandemic. I feel so proud of myself. Pat, pat.
