CHOCOLATE CAKE DAY National Chocolate Day is not an official celebration however, it was created by the National Confectioners Associa- tion. National Chocolate Day celebrates chocolate and promotes its health bene- fits. There are a variety of dates that have been designated as \"Chocolate Day\" around the world Grade 1 students celebrated chocolate day on 27th January. All students enjoyed their delicious chocolate cake and they shared with friends. 2

Dance is the joy of movement and the heart of life. Solo Dance competition for Grade 1 students was held on Wednesday 29-01-2020 where stu- dents skillfully performed and fixated everyone with their energy. 3

A farm is more than a land and crops. It is a family’s heritage and future... Growing up in an urban environment, there’s one thing children are missing out on. A trip to the rural areas and seeing a real live farm with animals is rare these days. To let kids know where their food comes from, get into more outdoor activities and enjoy some lovely animal encounters, grade 1 students visited a farm. They explored and investigated many things. They learned where their food comes from, responsibilities and daily tasks of a farmer, life skills such as problem solving and decision making, how to care for animals, safety skills, hard work and awareness of earth and mother nature and also appreciation for the food they get. The farm visit was enjoyable for the kids as well as a great learning experience. 4

Playing the tambourine re- quires skill and attention. Keeping the beat while play- ing is very important and re- quires a lot of concentra- tion. Students learn to play the Conga, Tambourine & Cabasa while trying to keep beat, which keeps the mind alert and fresh. Learning musical instruments help in keeping a balance between studies and school work. 9

Air is important for living things. People need air to breathe, and so do lots of oth- er animals—and plants! The main rea- son for life on Earth is air. Without its pres- ence, life would be impossible, and other planets in our Solar system are evidence of that. Hence, air is a natural advantage that supports life on Earth. To understand the uses of air work- sheets were given to students. They were able to identi- fy and colour the us- es of air. 10

Dance improves flexibility, coor- dination, balance, range of mo- tion, stamina, muscle tone, strength and posture. Dance helps children develop emotion- ally, socially and cognitively. Children must learn and practice the important life skills like dedication, discipline and focus that will transfer over to school, work and other aspects of their lives. 11

Oral presentation is one of the best platforms where non verbal cues are combined with effective verbal skills adding a broader aspect to communication. Oral recitation is a practice of having an entire class recite a poem. This helps stu- dents learn to recite a poem with proper pronunciation, intonation and stress. 12

Learning about currencies used in daily life helps the children to ac- quire knowledge about the real-life application of money. It helps the children to be independent. By adding different amounts of money students of grade 1 have leant how to use it in daily life as well. 13

A common language not only helps develop one's linguistic skills, but also expands the cognitive (thinking) abilities of an individual. As a part of learning different types of matrra words, grade 1 stu- dents were able to identi- fy different matrra words and wrote in the correct place. This kind of activity will help the children to re- call the words as well as matras in Hindi .   15

Paper collage is a technique of an art production where the artwork is created using an as- semblage of different forms and shapes using paper. These forms and shapes eventually create a whole image. Grade one students are learning pa- per collage art work by tear small pieces of yellow paper and pasting it on the beautiful sun flower picture petals. This activity of collage making helps the students to develop the mixed media ideas and enhanc- es the motor skills. 16

Students answered the questions based on the understanding of the Al bidiha tale. They were able to judge the characters of the tale and thus under- stand the positive domains of the tale. 17

2020 – Towards the next 50 The UAE will mark \"2020: Towards the next 50\" through three major events, namely the inauguration of the Barakah Nuclear Plant, the launch of the Hope Probe and the hosting of the Expo 2020 Dubai. The first quarter of 2020 will witness the inauguration of the first operational phase of the Barakah Nuclear Plant in Al Dhafra, which will make the UAE the first country in the Arabian peninsula to host a nuclear power station, and the first country in the Arab world to uti- lise a commercial nuclear power sta- tion to supply electricity. The Hope Probe is also expected to travel to Mars in the middle of July 2020. With an expected travel time of 200 days, the Hope Probe should reach the Red Planet in the first quarter of 2021, co- inciding with the country’s Golden Ju- bilee. What Next!! 1.
