DUNES INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL Volume 5, Issue 2 ACADEMIC SESSION 2019-2020 20-24th October 2019 SNEAK PEEK Reminder:  Send a story book every day in the bag of your ward to read during free time.  On Monday, 28.10.2019 students to come in traditional Indian dress and bring traditional sweets to share among friends to celebrate Diwali.  Kindly encourage your ward to participate in the solo singing competition which will be conducted during class music period. Glimpse of this week Friendship at its best Out door experience aims at inculcating sharing and developing self-esteem.to help the students to learn value of friendship and to apply it in varied situation. Dunes international school organized ‘friendship at its best 'for the students of grade 1 and 2 on October 24th 2019.students enjoyed a lot of activities like games. Music and movement etc. They an opportunity to spend time with their friends. 1

Subject: Hindi UNITY IN STRENGTH Grade 1A Grade 1B Role play is very important technique to improve speaking skills, because it gives stu- dents an opportunity to practice communi- cating in Hindi language. The purpose of this activity was not only to learn how to de- scribe pictures, but to learn how to develop a conversation based on the pictures. The students of grade- 1 enthusiastically present- ed their views about the picture and were able to describe it in Hindi. 6

Subject: EvS Children are learning different sense or- gans through the activity. Smelling ,touching and tasting the different type of food. Children had fun and curiosity throughout activity . SENSE ORGANS 7

Subject:Math (shapes) Learning and recognizing basic shapes is so much more fun and motivating when it is hands-on. Children need the opportunity to create and explore with shapes to learn what shapes look like and how to make them. This shapes activity has been created on a large scale with a number of manipulative items, to invite children to play creatively, imaginatively, mathematically, to construct, solve problem , explore, discover and try new things, all while having fun and learning about shapes. 8

Subject: ART AND SWIMMING ART; One of the first steps to learn about basic drawing of art is to learn about shapes. Grade one students are learning to create simple drawing with circle . eg-flowers, ani- mals, birds, fish, etc. It is a very easy and interesting lesson to develop their creative drawing skills. Free style swimming- Freestyle swim stroke is the fastest of all four basic swimming strokes. This is due to its streamlined body position and continu- ous alternating arm pull and leg kick. 9

Subject: Moral Science and Library Moral science : Honesty is the truth and act truthfully. Many children think HONESTY means you don’t tell the lie –and that is definitely part of being honest. Kids were finding the T word through activity in their notebook like truth, trust, tries and take. 10

DUNES INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL EXPO-2020 “If we exhibit our thinking skills assiduously now, it will guarantee the execution of our future endeavors” Senior Dunites-9-12 exhibited their creativity radiantly in the DUNES EXPO-2020 EXPLORE OPPORTUNITIES; an exhibition thematically based on Future en- deavors: Future Jobs, The Future Schools, Future Mobility, and The future lifestyle. The School model exhibited, consisted on a wonderful amalgamation of Artificial Intelligence (AI-technology) in the library, computer lab, laboratories and sustainable play grounds. 11

Edutainment show An edutainment show was organized in the school to enhance students learning experience along with aca- demics with coordination of Mystery Domes , UAE. Stars ,constellations, planets, satellites, etc were brought alive through 3D projections and state of art audio-visual equipment's. 13

Subject: Assembly 24th October Students of grade 1 C presented assembly on the theme International Artists day. The boys from the class presented a speech on International Artists day. They spoke about when it is cele- brated , importance of that day ,and about famous artists. As it was Artists day the girls from the class pre- sented a musical performance based on the theme honesty . 14

It presents will teach them to do the same. an opportunity for the country to strengthen its role as a world model of harmony, respect and acceptance within a framework that formally supports and consolidates these progressive values. The idea of tolerance is deeply rooted inthe fabric of the culture, heritage and traditions of the UAE, a society that de- rives its priorities from a combination of its Islamic religion, centuries-old authen- tic Arab customs, as well as the teach- ings and wisdom of the nation’s blessed founding father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sul- tan Al Nahyan, consolidating the pillars of goodness on which the country was established.
