Base Moulding Oxnard In 1954, Rakar began making molding machines for Reynolds & soon after wereapproached by Sandia to make transfer molds directly as well as products with the newly developed resin, diallyl phthalate.Soon, Rakar found itself in the middle of the atomic age, making custom molds for such firms as Bendix Corp, Amphenol Aerospace (formerly Matrix Science Corp), Cooper Interconnect (formerly G&H Technology), General Dynamics Corp, andLockheed Martin. Rakar become intimately involved in the space program, making connector insulators for the early capsules.

Thermoplastics & Thermoset MaterialsThermoplastic Materials:Rakar has the knowledge & capability to moldmany types of thermoplastic materials. Wetypically use engineering grade resins rangingfrom Nylon & Polyester to high performanceresins such as PEEK & LCP. Having producedsmall, medium & large production runs ofthousands of different products, Rakar canmeet your specific injection molding requirements from simple to complex sizes, shapes & tolerance. Thermoplastic Resins having specific properties arecompounded with additives such as reinforcements (glass or carbon), U.V.inhibitors, flame retardants, conductive elements, lubricants or toughness agents, toattain desired properties. Some thermoplastic property benefits include:• Resins are available in a wide variety of material & color options.• Low Cost alternative to molding large quantities of steel & stainless steel.• Excellent workability, thermoforming & molding characteristics

Molding ServicesInjection Molding:A manufacturing process for producing partsfrom both thermoplastic and thermosettingplastic materials. Material is fed into a heatedbarrel, mixed & forced into a mold cavitywhere it cools and hardens to the configurationof the mold cavity. Injection molding is widelyused for manufacturing a variety of parts, from the smallest component like smallLego accessories, to entire body panels of cars.Injection molding is used to create many things such as wire spools, packaging, electrical connectors, bottle caps, pocket combs, and most other plastic productsavailable today. Injection molding is the most common method of manufacturingparts. It is ideal for producing high volumes of the same object. Some advantages of injection molding are high production rates, repeatable hightolerances, the ability to use a wide range of materials, low labor cost, minimal scraplosses & little need to finish parts after molding.

IndustriesIndustrial Molding:Rakar has over 300 various Thermoplastic &Thermoset resin compounds to choose, in avariety of colors. Our design team can aide your engineeringstaff in selecting the best material for yourindustrial products.• Automotive Parts• Marine Applications• Hi Voltage Connectors• Insulators & Housing• Syringes
