160 UCAS points.Entry onto the FdA Photography course will be via asuccessful interview, relevant design qualifications either'AS' and 'A2' level, BTEC National Diploma, or GNVQ(level 3) or an equivalent qualification in relevant areas.Students are also accepted who have appropriate non-standard entry qualifications and/or relevant experience.Please contact the Admissions Tutor for more information

Our FdA in Photography provides a broad and progressive education within the areas of Digital Imaging and Photography forcontemporary creative industries. The course will teach you how to understand, interpret and create dynamic visual imagery.Our digital and practical photography degree aims to help you develop a clear understanding of how digital images andphotography can be used to communicate and express ideas in the professional world of the creative industries.

Intensive workshop sessions will teach relevant skills and creative visual problem solving. Competition and live client-based briefs will help equip you with the relevant vocational skills and experiences you need to follow a career as aprofessional photographer and digital image creator.

Skills acquisition will be developed throughout the programme usingpractical briefs as a vehicle for both delivery and assessment. Basicskills development will be the focus of level 4 modules and you will beencouraged to develop and enhance these skills further at level 5.You will be required to listen to and take part in individual and groupcritiques and to complete evaluations of the work you have done foreach brief. Lectures and seminars will introduce you to historical andcontemporary theory and contextual themes. You will be expected toapply this learning to your own work maintaining a continuous linkbetween theory and practice. Moodle will support your learning at alllevels as a portal for information and resources and through onlinediscussion forums. At level 6 a more independent ethos is fostered;you will be expected to plan your own learning with support frommodule tutors culminating in the writing and completion of yourhonours project.

A vibrant creative environment, including studios equipped withindustry standard software and hardware, will help you to effectivelycommunicate information and ideas appropriate for the moderndigital and creative workplace. Photography students have accessto Apple Mac and PC suites, printmaking facilities and photographicequipment.
