Ouseph Chummar Chirakuzhy Puthenpurayil family is also known in Areekara as Karamakuzhyil family. Seems like Ouseph Chummars great grandparents taravadu was in Uzhavoor and was known as Pallikunnel family. His parents later on moved to settle in Areekara and Ouseph Chummar bought land from the Karamakuzhyil family to build our taravadu leading us to be known by the Karamakuzhyil family name. The real Karamakuzhyil family is known to have settled in Puthuveli. Appachen, my grandfather i.e Ouseph Chummar had 6 sisters and 1 brother. He was the 5th kid of his parents. Oldest sister known as Echachi is married to Illikatil family in Marika and had 3 boys & 1girl 2nd sister is married to Illickal family in Chunkam and had 3 boys. Seems like they later converted to be Pentecost except 1kid. 3rd sister is married to Marutunady family in Areekara and had 3 boys. 4th sister is married to Kannachattupara family in Kumarakom. 5th sister known as Naiti is married to Mekkattel family in Kidangoor and had 4 boys & 2 girl 6th sister known as Sussanna is married to Manjangal family in Kottayam and had 1 boy & 2 girls. His one and only brother Kuruvilla Malayil is married to Aley from Kappadakunnel family, Uzhavoor and they have 6 kids, 1 boy & 5 girls. Annakutty, Mariyamma, Aleyamma, Thresiamma, Sicily and the only boy Joseph who is settled in California.

Aleykutty Chummar My grandmother, Aleykutty Chummar hailed from Kannampadam family in Kidangoor and was 6th among her siblings. She had 9 siblings in total. 4 sisters out of which 3 were nuns and 5 brothers out of which 1 brother was a priest. Oldest among the brothers were Thommy married Annamma from Paimpalil family, Areekara and had 6 kids. Kuttappan, Jose, Alex (Appachen), Thomaachen, Elsamma, Ancy Chandy married Aleykutty from Moodikallel family, Karimkunnam and had 3 kids Cyriac, Jose and Thommy Oldest among the sisters were Mary married to Joseph (Eappukutty) from Karinganattu family in Areekara also known as Thekupurathu and had 13 kids, Sr.Olga, Leelamma, Jose, Cyriac, Annamma, Thresiamma (Theyamma), Joy, Josephina (Oppy), Sr.Marina (Manka), Thomaskutty, Mary (Kunjumary), Stephen, Lucy. Joseph married Kunjunjamma from Purackal family, Kallisserry and had 5 kids, Bobby, James, Thomaskutty, Celine & Sabina. Stephen married Aley from Pulikil family, Tamarakadu and had 6 kids. Baby, John, Oppe, Thomaskutty, Annamma, Thankamma 2nd sister was Sr. Dominic who was a nun at the Visitation Convent, Kottayam 3rd sister was Sr.Etta who was a nun at the Trivandrum Mission 4th sister was Sr.Naina who was a nun at the Trivandrum Mission Fr. Jacob also fondly known as Poppachen was ammachys youngest and pampered brother. He was a priest of the Andra Pradesh Mission.

Sr.Brijitha Sr.Brijitha also known as our Madathilaunty was a nun at the Visitations convent of Archeparchy of Kottayam. She is an epitome of love and innocence. Her smile would light anyone's day up and her tone is so sweet and full of affection. Whenever she visited us or we end up visiting her convent, she would never let us go without showering us with gifts. Her gifts were always special to her nephews and niece and was handmade by her. When you say handmade, it was not any DIY item that she just tried on. They were all so perfect and outstandingly beautiful, made with beautiful stones of different colors & pearls that she could afford. As cousins we would stare over what everyone got from her or sometimes when we were together and got the option to choose, it would be so difficult for us to choose as each one would be so different and outstanding. Here color combinations are all so beautiful, now I wonder how talented she was. Couple of times I have seen her watch our selections with gleaming eyes, now wondering if she was trying to understand our taste. She is so beautiful and we girls would always wonder how long her hair is and how she would look without the veil. I know some of us have even tried to pull her veil trying to make it look like an accident to see it. Oh Madathilaunty, We Miss You so much. I just wish our kids got to see you in person and not just hear from us. I am sure you are watching over us from heaven and remembering us in your prayers. Love You ! ! You may have gone from our sight, but never from our hearts !
