Transport logistics for medical devices The transportation of medical devices can be perfectly presented with the example of flexible endoscopes which are used in various departments of hospitals and local medical specialists. Besides the gastroenterology and the pulmonology, ENT medicine, anaesthesia and the urology, flexible equipment will also be set up in emergency rooms for flexible intubations. User manual Endo - Liner Endo – Liner is designed to protect the prepared endoscopes against contamination (particles, micro- biologic contamination) until use. Furthermore patients, users and third parties are protected against biological contaminations due to used endoscopes on their way to the CSSD etc. to make a clear distinction between disinfected endoscopes and contaminated ones, Endo – Liner is made up of two separated folio bags. Green for cleaned endoscopes – red for contaminated ones. Straight with the motto: “green it’s clean – red it’s bad”. The usage is descripted illustrated as follows: Open up the package of the Endo – Liner and take note of the illustrated brief instruction. Open up the transparent film bag and slide in the complete tray. Close the bag with the adhesive strip. Every critical point of the tray is now completely Enclosed. Even the side handles. Put the prepared endoscope into the cleaned and disinfected tray. Please insert the red film to the endoscope within the transport bag and Cover the whole tray with the green cover completely. The endoscope is now ready for the transport and can be put back to the transport trolley with the prepared endoscopes (separation clean/ unclean). After using the endoscope: The used and contaminated endoscopes will be put into the Endo-Liner tray as shown in the following illustration : First of take out the red film out of the tray and put it to a clean surface. Now put in the contaminated endoscope on the transparent film and cover the complete tray with the red film.
