NEWS | CITHM BY: RAYMOND PHILLIP M. ANTONIO Students from the College of International Tourism and Hospitality Management (CITHM) participated in Hongkong International Culinary Classics 2019 (HKICC) last May 7-10, 2019 at Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center. HKICC is a world- renowned culinary competition where the best chefs, cooks and pastry chefs around the world meet and share their skills and abilities with the aim of promoting culinary excellence. This prestigious event was endorsed by the World Chefs – World Association of Chefs Societies (WACS) and co- organized by the Hong Kong Chefs Associations (HKCA). LPU-Laguna’s Culinary Team known as the League of Warriors (LEWA), was regarded as the Most Awarded Student Culinary Organization in the Philippines. This is because they have already competed in the international, national, and regional culinary competitions and already won several overall championship, medals, recognitions, and awards since 2013. This year, the team ventured once again to join Asia’s most prestigious culinary competition. It took a month for the team to prepare for the ‘biennial’ event. There were ups and downs along the road, but they reaped the success through sowing perseverance and hardwork during the training. Unlike other competitions, the team was given a limited time to spare due to the fully loaded schedules of the competitors, as most of them are graduating students. LPULAGUNA.EDU.PH | 19
