Dr. SAROJA VAIDYANATHAN Dr. Saroja Vaidyanathan is a renowned Bharatanatyam exponent, performer, and teacher who was conferred the Padma Shri by the Government of India in 2002, followed by the Padma Bhushan award in 2013. She is a recipient of the Sahita Kala Parishan Kamman of the Government of Delhi and has also been awarded the Ratna Sadasyata by the Sangeeta Natak Akademi for 2022. She is the Founder President of the Ganesa Natyalaya. Dr. Saroja received her initial training at the Saraswati Gana Nilayam in Chennai, under Smt. Lalita, who was a disciple of Guru Kattumannar Muthukumaran Pillai of Thanjavur. She is a prolific choreographer and has to her credit over 25 full length ballets and nearly two thousand individual Bharatanatyam pieces. She has also authored a number of books on Bharatanatyam and Carnatic Music including: \"The Classical Dances of India\" and \"Bharatanatyam - An In-Depth study.\" Over the last 5 decades, Dr. Saroja has been instrumental in popularizing Bharatanatyam in India and abroad. MALLIKA Mallika Narayan started her dance journey at the age of 9 years with Guru Priya Srinivasan. Since 2018, she has been under the tutelage of Padma Bhushan Guru Saroja Vaidyanathan at Ganesa Natyalaya. Mallika completed her schooling at Sanskriti School and the American Embassy School, New Delhi. She will be joining Oberlin College, USA, in the fall to pursue a degree in Neuropsychology. She enjoys art and outdoor activities including soccer, hiking, and scuba diving. TARA Tara Narayan is currrently in the 8th grade at Sanskriti School and will join the Hiroshima International School this fall. Tara began dancing at the age of 6 years with Guru Priya Srinivasan. Since 2018, she has been under the tutelage of Padma Bhushan Guru Saroja Vaidyanathan at Ganesa Natyalaya, New Delhi. She is an avid reader and enjoys playing tennis and soccer.
