The Writer Erin ISSUE 14 Soul Magazine SEPT. 13, 2020 EARTH ELEMENT PENTACLES / DIAMONDS TAROT PODCAST The metaphysics of the Earth Understanding their symbolic Reclaiming your inner power, element reference for the tarot mind and strength

We do not inherit the Earth from our ancestors. We borrow it from our children. Native American Quote

The Metaphysics of The Earth Element The Earth as a metaphysical symbol is a very interesting concept. The Earth has always been linked to a feminine essence, passive and nurturing. Symbolically she represents all of our physical matters since all plant and animal life are born of her and her substances. In African traditions, she is the great womb that manifests all. She can also be likened to the place of rebirth because when one dies, and it’s body goes back to the Earth, eventually that Earth becomes the creation and nursery of a new being. Just like the wombs of mother’s, she receives the seeds and the electric power of the sun, fertilizes them and produces her offspring. Following the cycles of seasons and the moon, that which is sown is reaped, and that which is reaped goes back to being sown.  On an esoteric level, the Earth stands for the manifested, and all physical matters. From the physical body to the physical work that must be done to acquire physical resources. The Earth is a reality of third dimensional consciousness in which time and space exist. As a matter of fact, the Earth is a manifestation of time and space. She is a representation that with use of our physical bodies, we can put physical things to work to earn physical things, such as money, a home, food, and clothing.  The Earth provides the resources of occult work, as well. Certain herbs, crystals or talismans can be used to activate energetic responses in practitioners or those they are serving. As a matter of fact, the Earth’s corresponding tarot suit, the pentacle, is an talisman or physical representation of a particular spiritual principle engraved on a coin for the purpose of manifesting more resources, or even power. It also bears relationship to death as when one is buried, they are placed back into the ground, the dirt, where the Earth feasts on them. It represents the idea that our bodies belong to the Earth, as the soul makes its transition to a new reality, whether Earthly or not. Therefore, metaphysically, the Earth can also refer to the human body, our Earthly vehicle or temple.

PENTACLES AND DIAMONDS And their symbolic attributes The tarot suit that the Earth corresponds to is the pentacle, or the diamonds in the playing card deck. The pentacle is like a coin, a talisman, in which a particular image or statement is placed on it to energize that idea. In most currencies around the world, a national treasure, leader or message is enshrined on it to signify empirialism. The pentacle itself becomes an occult ritual.  To many, the goal is to acquire more pentacles, or money or power. It becomes a chess games in and of itself. This can be acquired through Earthly reaping or sowing, giving value and receiving compensation, planting a seed and growing a crop. Working with the Earth in spiritual matters means raising one’s vibrations to match the physical resources they want to attract.

Diamonds, in many ancient traditions were tools used to attract such a power. Diamonds have been used to charge the passion and devotion of marriage. They were also believed to wield  power if given to a king or diplomatic leader.  The diamond, as with many crystals and gemstones, are considered to be a manifestation of the raised consciousness of the Earth. Over millions of years of development, many of the more subtle thought forms and energies settle inside of stones and crystals, including diamonds. The shapes and angles within gemstones, such as diamonds, distribute light rays that interact with space in various ways.  And since information is light and light is information, many times gemstones imbue us with the wisdom of the Earth. And remember, the Earth is an advanced being that we are just cells living on. The light coded information of her stones is as worthy as that of her humans.  When pentacles show up in your readings, consider more than just manifesting and getting something physical from the Earth.  Consider your relationship to the Earth. Think about whether or not you are sewing as well are reaping. Ponder the significance of the health of your physical body. Maybe you can take your shoes off and walk through the grass to pull her negative ions into your cells and your emotions. (I do that last one all the time when I just need a mood lifter.) Are your lower chakras grounded into the Earth in a firm, and solid way? Do you feel as you are using your greatest Earthly gifts to serve her and her offspring productively?  Could you incorporate the resources of the Earth into your spiritual rituals in a more sufficient way? Maybe you just need a better financial education so that you can apply healthier strategies to growing your own resources. Ponder the significance of the Earth and the symbols of pentacles and diamonds a little deeper. Pay attention to any subconscous dreams that may address these matters. And take these ideas deeper into your tarot and decoding journey.

Elemental Magic I’m recommending this book again. Understanding fairy magic is understanding how to use the power of Mother Nature in a positive way.  It’s been said that fairies and negative ions are synonymous. Regardless of whether or not this is a literal fact or not, it’s true that negative ions are Earth energies that create an environment for healing. That environment comes by way of an increased frequency, and higher vibrations.  When you are feeling ill or depressed, taking your shoes off and walking around in the grass, or hugging a tree, or being in ocean water are great ways to turn those feelings around. Taking a nice hike or even observing a beautiful Mountain View are ways to lift your spirits. In this book, there are sections that offer practical magic such as using the wind to manifest things. Understanding moon cycles and the affects of planets and constellations on the things human behavior and agriculture are a fantastic way to make use of Earth energies. I recommend this book for anyone who is a student of magic or a practitioner of making good use of the nature elementals of the Earth for high vibrational results. Grab Book
