Curriculum and Instruction Action Items ● Save the Date- 19-20 INSPIRE New Teacher Academy teachers will wrap up our year on the dates listed below. We would like to cordially invite all campus principals to attend with your teachers. We will have lunch for everyone and we will email out details with an invitation this month. Advanced Academics Action Items ● High school principals or academic deans, please make sure that your tab of this spreadsheet on Advanced Courses is completed by 4 p.m. on Friday, March 13. ● Academic deans/AP coordinators--please make sure to communicate registration timeline for AP tests for spring semester AP classes. The deadline for ordering spring-semester exams (and for paying for ANY exams) is March 13, 2020. State Assessments and Accountability Action Items TELPAS: All Holistic ratings should be entered and all online TELPAS testing should be completed by Friday, March 27th. Please let us know of any unforeseen circumstances that may prevent this. Any needed TELPAS Alt information should be also be completed and entered by Friday, March 27th. Our April STAAR Suggested Timeline is about to pick up. The current plan is to deliver materials for April testing on March 25th. Informational Items NEW in Eduphoria for Teachers with Monitor Lists: Teachers with approved Monitor Lists will now see \"Monitor Lists\" on the Analyze tab. When they click on it, they see a list of assessments. This will allow them to look at ALL the students on the list for an applicable grade/subject/test at once. HAVE A WONDERFUL SPRING BREAK! Digital Learning Action Items Call for presenters!! We are excited to announce Fusion 2020! When: Wednesday, July 29 Session Proposal Form 4th and 5th grade Password changes Two Steps: 1. Enroll in Password Portal (can be done anytime) 2. Change Password when technology activates your campus for the password switch (students must be enrolled in password portal to do this). We are testing our first campus our Friday March 6 and will roll out a district schedule after that. Our 4th and 5th grade are ready for this step in their digital learning journey! Academic Support Action Items ● 504: Thank you for updating your 504 paperwork. I sincerely appreciate your effort in correcting the 504 paperwork, and taking care of business based upon campus compliance reports. I am here to help. Just reach out. Informational Items ● 504:After initial meetings, please tell your PEIMS Clerk about the new coding. ● RtI: For any student meeting the eligibility criteria for each appropriate Designated Support, the RtI Team must complete the Eduphoria STAAR Designated Support form before allowing the student to use the support on state testing. Students do not necessarily need to be in a Tier 2 or Tier 3 classification, but must routinely, independently, and effectively use the designated support during classroom instruction and classroom testing. Designated Supports assigned by RtI Teams should never be added close to a summative STAAR assessment. Debbie Brown

Student Health Services Action Items Please instruct your custodians/staff to concentrate their daily cleaning efforts to the following activities several times of day when they can: 1. Use disinfectant and wipe down: doors and door knobs, Door locks, Light switches, Drinking fountains, Toilet flushing mechanisms, Tables, Common areas, Areas commonly touched by persons, 2. Check and regularly restock soap and paper towels in all restrooms. TEACH Handwashing! Scrub with soap and water for 20 seconds Informational Items ● Hays has a new Coronavirus website which is where we will put all official updates and communication. ● We will be screening newly enrolling students after Spring Break for travel. We cannot withhold enrollments other than those who have traveled to level 3 areas. Please call me on any cases where you have concerns so we can work through those on a case by case basis. Community Partnerships Action Items ● Hays CISD Education Foundation It is time to begin our annual process for choosing candidates for the Hays CISD Teachers of the Year (TOY) program. ● Timeline: February -March Campus will select a TOY, candidate must meet the attached criteria Tuesday, March 31 - Campus TOY nominee form is due to [email protected] Monday, April 20- Campus TOY district application form is due. This form is used by the review committee to determine the Elementary and Secondary District TOY. Community Partnerships Action Item 2020 Colonial Williamsburg Teacher Grant Hays CISD Education Foundation will award three grants to attend the Colonial Williamsburg Teacher Institute this summer.. The grant will cover the $2,200 registration fee and $1,200 for travel and materials. The Foundation will cover the $35 processing fee that is not covered by the grant. Deadline to submit application is Tuesday, March 31, 2020. Click here to apply! Please note: Grant recipients must acknowledge/agree to the following: 1. I verify that this is my first time attending the Colonial Williamsburg Teacher Institute. 2. My campus principal has been informed that I am applying for this grant and he/she supports me in my pursuit of the professional development opportunity. 3. I understand that I will be responsible for any incidental expenses that may be incurred. 4. I will upload a certificate of completion for this event to my Eduphoria Workshop profile by August 31, 2020. 5. I plan to remain at Hays CISD for 2020-21 school year.
